    Attention! This video contains mistakes:
    9:24 - the tightening torque is 60 Nm, not 45 Nm.
    9:30 - the tightening torque is 70 Nm, not 105 Nm.
    11:19 - the tightening torque is 15 Nm, not 35 Nm.
    11:42 - the tightening torque is 200 Nm, not 105 Nm.
    We're sorry for the inconvenience 🙇‍♂

    Without sounding negative cos it's a good video and very helpful, the video being 2 years old no MK5 golf is this clean or easy to dismantle, think the videos need to before realistic ie real issues and solution u can come across like rotten ball joint bolts, the suspension not coming out the pocket etc,

    Looks so easy...In real life was a F%^&$ing nightmare, both sides. All bolts difficult to remove, strut not coming out of the wheel hub, ball joint bolts shearing off, strut mount bolts/nuts tearing out of the strut mounts, and rust frozen - very difficult to reach, strut not reinserting into the wheel hub easily.

    Does anyone know why some cars don't have a bottom spring rubber seat? Isn't metal to metal contact bad?

    Hi guys, in South Africa the size of bolts, for instance the no. 18 used as a shock locknut are different, my golf has a no. 21 mm shock locknut. Is it possible that the xzn no. 12 might be different too?

      Unfortunately, it is not possible to unequivocally answer your question, you can find this information in the technical documentation for the repair of your car.

    I've heard the hub bolt into the axle is a one use only stretch bolt that needs to be replaced and then requires 200nm and a 180° turn?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk 3 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment!
      You are right, the hub bolt must be used new, the information on the tightening torque on each car is individual, so we recommend that you first find this information in the service or technical book of your car before replacing it.

    If I want to replace a broken spring can I just remove the strut from the bottom arm and slide the new spring in place or do I have to remove the top mount as well?

      Unfortunately, we can not recommend another method in which this replacement will be part of the safety precautions, otherwise, we recommend contacting the service of your car.

    How long does it take, what is the cost for a garage to charge for this ?

    • @autodocuk
      @autodocuk 4 роки тому

      Thank you for your comment! Unfortunately, the complexity of the replacement is individual for every vehicle, it all depends on the technical condition of the old parts and the car itself, therefore, the time needed for replacement may vary a lot. You can clarify the cost of the replacement for your vehicle with any Garage in your area. Regards, Autodoc Team.

      In general, the replacement will be the same, the only thing that may differ slightly is the design features of your car.

    You might want to inform your mechanic that if a torque wrench clicks straight away then the bolt is over tightened using the air fed impact gun, a couple of bolts in this video clicked straight away after he put them in with the impact gun
