Thank you for the video and suggesting going slowly. I've been decluttering for two years now. There is no way I could have let go of so much without regret if I had forced myself to do it in one sweep. I've been able to let go of more than 75% of my stuff and it feels great. I still have a bit more to go, but mostly now it is maintenance. Also, as a side note, I;m not a minimalist. I'm a "letting go of my excess stuff because it was driving me nuts"-ist.
This is really lovely. I'm so happy I found your chanel and subbed.. People have been so nasty to me about being a new minimalist but I've never felt happier and free! It makes me feel comforted seeing videos like this. Thank you.
So good and so very helpful! Totally Love the box idea and will be checking that out this week. Thank you for your time in creating this insighful video.. All The Best!
Brother make a video on minimalistic items we use on daily basis and what are some good quality clothing brands as a minimalistic we should wear and how to start minimalistic item business that would be great. Also tell us about some minimalistic high quality genuine skincare routine and products I've almost tried everything on my skin
Quality content as always 👌🏻 I’ve been a follower and a silent viewer since you have around 8k subscribers crazy how it grow so fast. I like how you smile more often and added a little bit of fun clips in your videos now, love how you are experimenting with new opening music as well : ) Keep up the good work 👏🏻
Thank you for really nice videos. Going slowly forward towards owning less stuff and getting rid of excess things. There is a lot of motivation in your videos to proceed on this path.
The box idea is quite smart, not just in term of time. But you just fill a small box and fill less overwhelmed about decluttering. One small box at a time.
Taking a picture of things I want to part with is so powerful to me for many reasons. I highly suggest having a folder on your phone with "Thrown away!" or something like that and start. It's really really useful and trying it doesn't cost anything. To me at least, best advice ever when it comes to decluttering.
I absolutely love videos like this about minimalism. Decluttering might be a bit addictive I swear. So watching smth about more careful consideration really helps to stay reasonable 😁
Love the message in this video but would just like to say, the editing and scripting is on point! Watched loads of your videos now and this is my favourite. Especially the intro, you just nailed it :)
I try to declutter after the holidays. I keep a box by the door and add things. Once it’s full it goes to goodwill. Video suggestion: dealing with gifts during the holidays or birthdays.
Great tips. I've been on a decluttering journey for a while now. Some of these tips or the way you convey them are refreshingly different. I may not ever be a minimalist. But I sure need to "lighten up" and your videos are very helpful. Thanks
Lots of great things to unpack here. We seem to have had a similar journey in our paths towards a minimalist lifestyle. My goal was to get every item to fit into one black tote bin that I could easily take anywhere in the country. As a fellow Floridian, I also totally get the weather NEVER cooperating! Still gonna rock my black skinny jeans though... I look like an out of work Warped Tour roadie. 🤣
@@NicholasGarofola Same! My first year that I lived in Florida, was the FINAL year of Warped back in 2018. And yes, thankfully was on the outskirts and didn't get hit bad at all. Hope you were good too!
Oh my gosh, I just discovered your channel and am massively inspired to simplify even further! Will definitely be binging your videos as I love learning more about minimalism and simple living. Also, your videos are great aesthetically too.
How do you balance between being a minimalist and your attachment to items of sentimental value? I know you mentioned taking photos of things, which is a great option, but it’s not the same as holding a movie ticket stub from a first date. I have so many things in this category (my high school graduation cap, a note from an ex, a book signed by an author), which I don’t “need” per se, but I also don’t want to throw away. Perhaps more generally: aren’t physical items like this necessary to reconnect more clearly with those memories?
I struggled with this a lot at first but it got easier over time. I find more comfort in valuing the memory over the item, but please by all means keep the things that make you happy even if it’s not something you “need”
LOL you holding your plant like a baby is exactly how i feel about my plants too, i dont have any pets or children so i love my plant frens. but sometimes they need to go to a new home because sometimes i end up with tooooo many
You're definitely one of my favorite channels on youtube.. I've been following you videos for a while and I've only just realized how underrated you are and the fact that I haven't yet appreciated your content enough.. So, Best of luck my guy.. I'm sure someday you'll get the reach you deserve.. until then keep making amazing content as usual..
inspiring, thank you, totally agree. we have unplanned emergency works where i rent. and sincerely i felt unsettling at first to box all in rush but then.. i felt so liberated.. and after living days, weeks that way as the works at home are lasting. i realised what i really feel to take back from the boxes.. :) i already have not so much as i changed countries many times younger living with two bags only.. i settled few years and with, without realising accumulated a bit.. and for me, i felt too much and like lacking breath.. feeling back the ability to move easily, i felt back my young confidence and serenity and even more creative ideas to life situations coming back :) i sincerely advice to each one feeling time to let go.. to dare to do it.. even step by step... even with maybe piles.. there is no rush as the goal is not to feel pain but better in fact :) step by step :)
I've been minimalizing for a few years now (the first round of decluttering was huge lol....Salvation Army had to send a whole truck for everything), and I'm subscribed to several minimalists on youtube because I need the advice and inspiration, but I've never come across you until today. Where have you been? 🤔 I really like your calm and simple approach. And your cat is adorable! You have a new subscriber.
Hi! Congrats on your videos as I really love them! May I suggest a video showing how you create your video graphic animations? Or maybe a video on UA-cam you can recommend to learn it? Big thanks and keep up the great work :)
My family thinks I'm going crazy hahaha Getting rid of useless furniture that does not serve a purpose and the millions of mugs that are falling out of cupboards... Ya I'm the crazy one!
I have a box full of my decluttering things. Some of them are still in good condition but nobody wants it, nobody want to buy it. But throw away is just a sad thing for me :(
Very honest of you to admit you bought jeans because Matt D'Avella wore them. It's kind of ironic that even youtubers that build their image around minimalism still make us buy stuff (in a way). When I started with minimalism I couldn't tell the mindset and the aesthetic apart so I just copied what I saw on UA-cam, which led to unnecessary purchases. It's good of you to emphasize that these choices must be personalized in order to work in one's life.
Do you follow the minimalist principles while creating and editing your videos also? I ask youtubers this because I find the process so overwhelming but I feel the same message can be conveyed simply and still have people watching and save time. Just a thought.
Keep your privacy if you need to, and I will understand! But, if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend do they become pissed at your money-watching? Being social (and I hate being social; this is easy for me) is expensive! Thanks.
this guy is a joke, try to be minimalist and having a family... all of your tips are for people who lives alone. just an opinion,.... I really like your content
I wish you posted 2x a week
I agree!
He is helping you minimalize your UA-cam consumption
@@luisseg 😂😅
Me too
I don't I like that he posts when it suits his personal schedule. He has a full time job. Once a week is impressive enough knowing that

Cracked up when you were cuddling the plant!
I find hoarding comes naturally to me, i have to be very mindful about decluttering or else things slowly start to get cluttered again.
You are definitely the one of the healthy inspirations on my way to minimalism 🙌
Thank you!
Talk about timing! I really appreciate your content 🙏🏽
🙌
Slowly but surely is the way to go. Thanks for the advice.
Would you consider doing a video on your habits and routines again?
Working on it!
@@NicholasGarofola I love your videos bro ❤️
I find myself doing what you do before watching you videos, but I watch them either way. Excellent methods and beautifully articulated

Hi
I don't understand why do you need to fit your life in a car? People have jobs and family and a place of residence. You go travel and come back.
Keep your privacy if you need to, and I will understand! But, if you have a girlfriend or boyfriend do they become pissed at your money-watching? Being social (and I hate being social; this is easy for me) is expensive! Thanks.
