I decided to do a POV because why not-
You had showed your friend group your new boyfriend. You had a crush on him for the longest time and talked about him all the time. You friends had shipped you with him and almost screamed when you told them that you were dating. He asked you out a week after his birthday as a “late birthday present”. But you couldn’t help but notice that one of your friends [friends name] didn’t like him.
You asked her why she didn’t him and she only said that she didn’t trust him and wasn’t important. You felt a bit sad that she didn’t approve your boyfriend considering that she knew how much you liked him. But you still accepted it because you were always patient with her. After all, she was your previous crush.
You used to like her back in high school until you heard your friends say that she like a boy in your class. No one knew that you liked her but it still hurt you a bit that she liked someone else. So you moved on from your feelings so you didn’t have to feel hurt every time you looked at her.
Everything was fine now. She didn’t like anyone as far as you knew but you always teased her about getting a boyfriend. But then one night had changed almost everything and made you question things.
One night you were walking to your car at night until someone stopped you by holding your wrist. You turned around to see [friends name]. “Hey do you have a moment? I wanna talk to you about something.” It was strange but of course you stayed to talked to her. “Yeah I can stay. Why? What’s up?”
She let go of your wrist and sighed “random topic but do you know exactly why I don’t like your boyfriend?” You were taken back and confused at the question because you thought she didn’t like talking about him “maybe? Didn’t you say you didn’t like him because you didn’t trust him with me?”
She chuckled. “Well I mean that is part of the reason. But not the full story. Wanna hear it?” She sounded like she was forcing herself to say it because she said it in a strained voice. “Sure, so why don’t you like [boyfriends name]?” “Well… the only reason why is because…-sigh- I like you…”

Those were the words she said. You widened your eyes at shock and was breathless. You didn’t know how to act to this. You liked her back in high school but not really anymore. And her she is, in front of you confessing to you. While you have a boyfriend. “Look I know you’re gonna deny it because well…you have a boyfriend, don’t you?” A humorless chuckle left her mouth.
“I- [friends name] how long exactly did you like..me…?” You were blushing now “well, maybe four months? Idk but yeah. Well that’s all I had to say. I wanted to just take that off my shoulders. Night [your name].”
She turned around and started walked away. “Wait!” You said, now you holding on to her wrist. “I’m sorry [boyfriends name]” you whispered under your breath. She turned around. “What’s the matter?” You breathed in and out “so you said you like me, huh?” A small smirk was now tugging at your lips. She blushed a bit “yeah… why?”
“Because, I just wanna confirm that before doing this.” You kissed her softly on her lips. She widened her eyes but returned the kiss. After a few seconds, you pulled away. “You see… back in high school, i really liked you. But I heard someone say you like another boy in our class so I stopped liking you. But now, you are here in front of me.”
She gaped. “But.. what about your boyfriend?” “Eh, we’ll think of something. But right now, you need to sleep and so do I.” You kissed her forehead “we’ll talk more about his tommorow, k?” She nodded “alright.” You planted another kiss on her cheek “night love” you said. Then you went to your car and went home.
