I started in June last year. It was a very rocky start but now I get a 100 score on the MyAir app most of the time.
I still have problems with managing too dry / too wet, but I recently started adjusting my humidity level, 1up or 1down, every night, depending on the humidity level in my room.
I don't have central air or airtight windows, so I'm at the mercy of the Hawaiian weather.

Me too, no issues and I really love that I can put pillows over my head to drown out house noise so I don’t startle awake. I also don’t mouth breath during the day because it seems it retrained me to use my nose❤. My brother had a totally different experience however and hardly uses his.

Lucky you, I only have mild mixed apnea but cpap doesn’t do anything. But I’m so so tired as if I had severe apnea. I’m told that the CPAP could be causing central sleep apnea, supposed to be helping me but could be making me worse. I’m booked into have a series of tests at the sleep clinic to find out what’s wrong with me. As the consultant is baffled. I just want to feel well and less tired

Been on CPAP for nine and a half years. Only missed 5 nights during that time. (Normally when at a dinner party, had a few drinks and decided to stay the night ... lol ) Started with Resmed S9, now using the Air Mini. Right from the start I've used the Airfit P10 nasal pillows. It's a piece of cake and about as unobtrusive as you can get. I put off getting tested for years because I couldn't stand the thought of wearing a mask to bed but when the doctor said "you're going to go to bed one night and not wake up .... EVER" I kind of knew I HAD to do it. And the nasal pillow mask is so easy to wear. The whole experience changed my life from Night One and due to the possible dire outcome if I didn't use CPAP, I went into it with two major thoughts .... #1. I HAVE to do it .... and #2 ... I'm going to have a POSITIVE ATTITUDE and make it work, no matter what. I think this is MOST important. Have a positive attitude to make it work. If you have problems with a full face mask, try a nasal pillow mask. Here in Australia we can rent them so it's possible to try one out. Can't speak for your part of the world but worth investigating.

In the US, we have a 30 day trial of any mask we buy. If it doesnt work out, we can return and try another, and another, and another. 😉 I started with nasal pillows. I am getting ready to try the Philips Resperonics under the nose nasal mask. It has a less stretchy strap than the P 10 air pillows. That mask ends up off my head half of the time. The doc tells me to sleep on my side. It only stays in place if I sleep on my back. But, I stop breathing more on my back. Sigh!! We will figure it out. 🤔

I thank all the guys who come online and teach us about new masks, tubes, airflow, and all the things we would not know otherwise. I used to wear a mouth device until the dentist pulled my anchor teeth. 😥 I just loved the TAP device b/c I have extreme claustrophobia. I have been learning to use the cpap machine since Nov 23. It has been much trial and error. My 0xygen goes really low, then my pulse. So they blast me with more air. I am thankful for the people who spend years inventing a device that is usable and quiet so it doesnt wake my husband. I already feel weird with all the straps and tubes coming from my head. I would feel REALLY bad keeping him awake with rushing air noises.🙄 At least, I can finally get sleep myself. Thanks for the time you put in making your videos.😍

@@sueworsell4122 I hope we get a response because I would love to have even less face coverage. I already use the Evora under-the-nose mask that does cover my mouth. I moved away from the full face mask mostly because the seal would get so bad after a couple of weeks of me squashing it around due to my sleep position. The air from the bad seal around my nose just blasted into my eyes during the night so that they were painfully dry every time I woke up in the mornings.

    • @marvinwhisman3333

I have exactly the same issues. Just find yourself a good full face mask and you don't need to worry about taping your mouth shut or one nostril not working. I also sleep on my side at night and it isn't an issue. I just hang the mask off the end of the pillow and tuck the hose under my arm (the side not on the bed) and it works great. I will say it takes some work and dedication to finding the right mask, tubing, pressure settings, mask tightness, where you put the mask on your face, etc etc etc.. But once you get it working it is great.

I've been getting sinus pressure headaches from a long weather system here and when I put on the cpap at night the headache goes away.
I'm this close |-----| to using it during the day, when the headache gets too bad. I mean, it's a drug free solution anyway. 🤷🏻‍♀️

Nah, pulsating vortices sounds a lot worse to me than continuous pressure, but then I've had 100% compliance and zero issues with regular CPAP since day 1 (many a year ago). To me, it was very easy to get used to (but since I have very severe apnea, I'd still be using it even if I had issues with it, because the improvement with CPAP is vast).

Yeah, not using something that wraps around my ears. Ouch. Hopefully it has a head strap option. I would like some focus on preventing the mouth from dropping open. Current options of chin strap, tape, and neck brace are horrible.

I'm terribly uncomfortable, but I wear it because I sleep so poorly without it. But, I don't like that my oxygen drops for an average of 60 seconds (5X and hour on cpap) before the action of the cpap restores my oxygen levels. I heard there was a new cpap in development in Canada that was "intuitive" and would maintain constant oxygen levels by anticipating events rather than reacting to them. Very high tech. I hope I live long enough to experience constant oxygen levels. I'd love to really feel normal again.

Only complaint I do have is that if they turn it up too high, it has a tendency to inflate my stomach… which, is painful and results in the need to release that inflation, which, isn’t the nicest thing for mrs weed.

I have an honest question. I have sleep apnea myself and I'm trying to figure out what is the best way to handle it. But I've always seen all these negative comments about CPAP, so... why not getting a surgery instead. Isn't that the most effective path? instead of trying, throughout the years, with different masks and machines that a lot of people say that are uncomfortable and that, some way or another, make you depend on a machine?

I'd try the machine. You might be one of the lucky ones have no issues.
It's not like you can't have surgery after trying the machine.
It's not like there is a guarantee with surgery (first hit from a search) "The success rates in studies vary depending on the study, with a range between 16% and 83%, according to a 2021 study published in BJBMS. But recovery may take several weeks, and apnea symptoms may return, especially in obese patients."

By the comments, it appears that there are quite a few of us who love our CPAP machines. Of course we'd rather not have to use them but the alternative is a bit grim. I took me about a month to get used to CPAP, now, it's just part of bedtime. The only thing I hate is the telltale strap marks left on your face! Anybody with hints about how to deal with these?
The prototype of the Vortex seemed to have even worse straps. Would definitely be interested in trying it out, though 20 pulses a second sounds weird.
