'Judgments Against Israel Pronounced'

Once God laid out the charges He had against Israel, He could, and He did, begin to pronounced judgments upon them. None of the judgments would be easy for Israel to endure. Why should they be? God had brought them into a land "flowing with milk and honey." The Promised Land was spacious. The people would lack nothing. The problem was this: They turned their back on God. They began to follow other gods. This brought them into direct conflict with God. Now they would have to live through what their rebellion earned them. Hosea 5 is only the beginning of God's revelation to Israel what His judgments would bring them. The judgments He begins to tell them get worse from this point forward throughout the remainder of Hosea.
