Sena, how about a video on how to use these units instead of just sales pitches?
I enjoy my 2 Sena units... and I am very interested in the ST1. {Sometimes, my gloved fingers have difficulty with the 'jog dial' on my current units... }
Just to point out that Cardo units are rated at IP67 and are relatively waterproof (backed by the manufacturer) whereas Sena units are NOT waterproof or water resistant in any way. Sena units come with 'dust covers' for open ports and button gaiters etc but are not suitable for rain! Sena make no mention of 'weatherproofing of any of its product documentation. I live in Northern England and found out the hard way. Wet weather riders be warned!
well I have ridden through weather so bad I though it was a car wash...and still the unit stayed dry and working. I can only say that in the last 8 years of using Sena devices I have not had an issue with water ingress. And I know they don't say waterproof...but they are as good as...and I am UK too
@@paulhedges8490 one April trip to Scottish isles and I put 2 units in the bin. Sill in warranty but Sena refused to repair/replace them as it was water damage. I swapped to Cardo now. Performance is comparable but the warranty covers water ingress.
@@demonkey123 we all have good and bad experiences... last weekend I rode too, around and back from Mallory Park..all my 'waterproof' clothing had given up... but the music played on..

the spider st1 was a complete disappointment, the range between them with its mesh mesh does not exceed 200 meters, when in the description it says that up to 2 kilometers in the open field just when a truck gets in the way the signal is cut off, they have already been done 2 updates and nothing that improves communication, they are not waterproof, water leaks very easily and that is another big problem because you risk damaging the internal system.
There are better equipment for a lower price, they already made me a warranty replacement of the equipment, it took 60 days, and in the end they continued with the same communication problem between them and the water filtration.
Whats better at a lower price?
Probably one of few if not the only one, but I wouldve liked it to have FM radio, or maybe DAB radio in future; I dont want to rely on my phone for music
how to activate the universal connection in the Spider model Spider ST1?

Can you pair it to other brands like Uclear or Cardo? What about other non mesh Sena devices like 10R, 20S. Have to buy an adaptor? Mesh is great but if its mesh only does that mean it wont pair with anything but Sena branded MESH 2.0?
Sena Spider RT1 units are not Bluetooth intercom capable. The RT1 can only be paired with other Mesh Intercoms

Looks like removal of Bluetooth communication… which if someone you ride with has an older Sena or non Sena.. good luck.

These do not have Bluetooth intercom as well, and lower price point. These are mesh intercom only, but cna still connect to a phone and do share the 50 series speakers.

Is this compatible with shoei RF 1400?

Hello. Unfortunately it is not possible because the SPIDER Series does not use the same Bluetooth Intercom technology as the AGV ARK as it only uses Mesh Intercom technology. Thanks.
Will there ever be an inconspicuous mesh device like the 10U?
can you connect multiple phones/devices to this at the same time? work phone and personal/ ipad and phone/ ipod and phone, etc if yes how many can connect at once?
Hi. Yes you can. You can connect 2 Bluetooth devices by placing the headset into Phone Pairing mode for first Bluetooth device then placing the headset into Second Mobile Phone Pairing for the second device. Thanks.
Can my passenger and i listen to the same Bluetooth music source?
I have a Sena S5 I think. I can't hear music at all when I ride when its turned all the way up but calls are really load. With the new spider can you actually the music
Ive tried it with some very good ear plugs in and the speakers were able to get way louder than I needed. No problem there. Calls are about the same volume as well

Can you still stream music from your phone via bluetooth or is that function omitted entirely from this unit? Communication only device.. no music and gps audio playback from phone makes it not nearly as useful.

SENA products are water-resistant, not waterproof.
What is the difference between Sena 30K versus RT1 & ST1?
30K has Mesh and 4-way Bluetooth intercom. The ST1/RT1 are mesh intercom only and have better HD speakers. All of the units can still connect to a phone.

Great product but wow turn down the awful music!
What a nightmare! I spent two hours trying to pair this ST1 to my 2018 Goldwing and another hour on the phone with your tech dept to no avail, I will be returning this unready piece of crap back to send. I just wish I could send you a bill for my time and extreme anger, you should be ashamed to put this on the market when it doesn't even pair with one of the most popular bikes out there, did I mention how pissed I am? I do not recommend this device at all so if you are reading this DONT BUY IT!
