I have one of these DMT-100's and for the money is great. The biggest issue with it was the fretboard was extremely dry, and there were a couple frets that had some sprout. After some setup, it plays and sounds great. The satin finish feels amazing.

It's amazing what so little money will get you these days guitar-wise...
I couldn't decide between the two so I got them both 🙂🙂
As far as I can see string nuts are polycarbonate which do an okay job reducing friction, not as good as graphite or tusq but still better than cheap soft plastic...
Radius is 12" ( at least on my guitars ) and after a full setup and some fret ends smoothed these guitars can give my $1000+ other guitars a run for their money...
I might install locking tuners, better pickups, different wirings, etc...on them in the future but as is they are amazing...
Thanks for the excellent video 🙂🙂

Considering the price did you like it? Did it take much work to get it playing good? (Action, intonation, neck straightness…)

@@HankCoffey she knows I'm talking to you, and she asked if you were ok because I said that your UA-cam and Twitch looked like you hadn't posted anything for a month. I will say you're fine and that you said Merry Christmas ⛄ After Robin Manton finished building my new Guitar he liked it so much that he added it to his Catalogue and called it The Acolyte. I've given him my two oldest guitars that were in a right old state which both needed refretting with a ton of other repairs too. Growing up, we never had much money and my Mum struggled a lot just to pay the bills. I had many part time Jobs when I was a kid so that I could get things and I never asked for anything , including birthdays . Thus included saying that I didn't want anything for Landmark birthdays like my 16th, 18th and 21st. But, I was completely surprised on my 21st birthday by a new guitar! It was Very emotional and I was blown away. I would never get rid of that guitar and it was played extensively. The other guitar that he's also refretting and giving Everything a general overhaul on is my First ever Electric guitar that i got second hand when I was 12. I have never found a guitar that feels the same as this guitar. Robin says that it's very weird with the strangest neck and fretboard measurements and dimensions.
It's got a massive radius near the neck which is Very thin like a modern super strat around 21 inches!
, but above the 12th fret up to it's 22nd fret it develops into a much smaller radius around 12 inches! The strings are a tiny bit closer together then my Vigier, or a Fender or my Ibanez.
The Fretboard is basically flat but has more rounded edges than my Shawn Lane Vigier....in fact it's much like that guitar. For some reason there's no fret inlay markers above the 17th fret!? This gives it a peculiar look at first glance! It's a very light guitar with a thinner than average solid body which is like the S.L. Vigier thinner body too. But It's headstock is on the thicker side and he has to alter any locking tuners that are put on. The pickups are possibly hand wound and big and chunky which he says are maybe worth £100, or about $130 each, because of the big demand for vintage pick ups like them . He told me what the design was called but I forget. I looked online and found old ones that looked Very similar. It's got a Trem system like an old strat which is Going to be blocked off because I don't use trems ...but
it's got a Tune O Matic style Bridge which needs replacing too. It needs to be higher than average because of the flat body. It never had a name on the headstock and Robin says it's similar to some other weird guitars he has fixed that hail from the 1960s and early 1970s. It played and sounds so good compared to the dozens and dozens of other cheaper second hand guitars that I played in second hand shops, and friends guitars from that time! One of the bands I played in when I was 15 , the singer Had a black Les Paul he used to pose with....it was not a cheap one either, maybe a deluxe or custom. I don't know much about the difference between those Gibsons , but I remember that it was very expensive. It was a horrible sounding guitar with a horrible feel and felt nearly as heavy as a bass guitar.
..I much preferred the feel, weight and sound of my guitar from the second hand shop.
The costs of refretting guitars with stainless steel has rocketed since we Left the EU and the problems of the World also contribute. But Robin said he would fit them at Cost as I had already have a spent a lot with him , and he says that refretting is his favourite repair! He was much more reasonable with the cost of refretting than others I have asked, and that was before the discount!. It works out as just about half price of the other quotes I got.
🎸 I will end up with:-
1 ~ The Acolyte By Manton.
2 ~ The Shawn Lane Vigier(worth about 35% more then I paid for it in 2017, maybe as Patrice Vigier retired earlier this year)
      3 ~ 21st birthday present.
      4 ~ Oldest guitar From age 12.
      5 ~ Headless Travel guitar.
6 ~ Fender Jazz Bass copy.
7 ~ Black Ibanez RG which is now used as a slide guitar. It's frets are worn out and it's Trem system is Crap and it's tuning stability is not great....BUT I do love the feel of it's weird flat neck which is flatter along the full length in the centre..
Flatter than an Ibanez Wizard . It was an odd run that only lasted 2008 - 2009 if I remember correctly. My new guitar by Robin Manton is intentionally a sort of mixture of this neck and the Vigier neck, and is my perfect shape. When I took up playing guitar again in 2015(25 years after stopping in 1990)the only guitars I had were the two that Robin is now refretting...and I needed something to play.....I bought the Black Ibanez RG second hand knowing nothing about Ibanez or modern guitars generally.
      And..
The Blue Ibanez RG with knackered frets was taken apart and parts sold. I might sell the Bass and travel guitar which I'm not so keen on. I would probably use my oldest guitar as a travel guitar because it's so scratched then new scratches won't be noticed! And it's very light...the Vigier is just over 6 pounds, and this old one is just under 5 pounds .... plus i forgot to mention it's much shorter scale length of only 24 inches which also contributes to it's unusual feel , and tone I really like! Everyone used to like the tones i managed to get out of it, nearly as good as yours 😁 maybe!
      Cheers Hank 🍻
      🎸🎸🎶😁🐕💚🍩🐻

@@The1stMrJohn That's cool JaanJaan, I have 7 electrics right now. The Kiesel will make 8. I want to sell about 3 or 4 of them. But I haven't listed any of them yet. I paid an extra $100 for Kiesel to pick me a real light piece of ash. I am also doing a thin Raw Tone natural finish. Similar to tung oil. To remove the finish weight. Tone control and truss cover delete. Any weight I can remove. So I am hoping the guitar is at least under 7lbs. Floyd Rose adds weight. So it's hard to get those under 7. I chose EXTRA Jumbo stainless with Luminlay markers. If this Kiesel is under 7lbs it will be my main guitar. There is a shop here that specializes in jumbo stainless refrets. $350.
I have been making content and streaming on my gaming channels.

No companies have been sending me review stuff lately. And I don't have time to make good guitar tracks lately. I feel like I suck if I do guitar streams without backing. That's why I haven't been doing guitar content. Maybe I can pick a day of the week like Marshall does. I should be free in 2023 for guitar streams. When is the best time? Weekends?
