You duds out here need to get real. This song was a hit for us at our teen clubs and was great to dance to. Just because you didn't grow up in the 50"s & 60's isn't my fault you don't appreciate the great songs and artists of the most amazing time in music history (Rock and Roll). I don't live in the past but the lifestyle and times of "LET THE SHOW BEGIN" was one that had to be experienced. And what a show it was.
+tragit104 I loved dancing to this. Just listening to it makes my feet move. These feet are 72 years old...but still can move with the best. Just not as long.
Im 25 and im all about it dig that crazy stuff i wanna get more of these young cats into it not only are they missin out but they're ruining their heads with this new noise they call music
Fantastic guy great entertainer I saw him in 2010 at the solid gold rock and roll tour in Louisiana ..I got to talked to him for about 5 minutes after his set
WOW .. Great writing !! Great Performance. This song still sounds amazing many years later after it's release. People still love it !! What an explosive Era. IT's amazing that Frankie was right there with his fantastic contributions to the era !! Frankie had a feel like no other artist. This song still sounds great at my live gigs. (pre Covid) .. and it works well on the Cruise Ship gigs as well. My Students love to learn and play this song. If you need it transposed into a different key to make it easier to sing, i can help you with that as well. Gotta Love the Classics. ;-)
I remember, me and my brothers, ( 3, 5 and 6 years old at the time,1959, our teen age baby sitters couldn't wait to change the TV channels, from old Jewish cartoons, to a new show called " American Bandstand, it wasn't the cartoons, but what the hell, it sure wasn't boring, I never lost my love for that special kind of music, so much so when I grew to be a man in college I would wait till after 10:00 pm, when most were asleep on our dorm, and play 50 ," oldie but goodies songs, by ear on the guitar, this song was one of them,I going to try to work up that sane repertoire, again, no charge,( ha ha ha).
Growing up during this "rockin'" time is one thing. Listening to this song is another. But, doing the jitterbug to one of the best jitterbug songs alive, was " the ticket." Is there anybody out there in "TV Land" that can say, " they were a real dancer?"
I interviewed Frankie Ford at great length in Blitz Magazine in the '80s. He said, "Talk fast. I have to leave in 45 minutes to catch a plane". So I did. He was even faster, and shared a wealth of information on his career within that prescribed amount of time. And he seriously rocked on stage that night. Too bad that despite his best efforts here (coming on stage with finger snapping) that he was not able to keep Dick Clark's perpetually rhythm-challenged audience from clapping on the one and the three in stead of the two and the four.
Don't appraise an entertainer by the way you feel about him. He is one thing, your feeling is another. That is why so many divorces. Woman didn't see the man, but saw her feeling.
Great radio song back in L.A.! "KFWB! Channel 98!" The soundtrack of my youth. 73 now. (Funny that less than 10 years later, Frank Zappa did Freak Out!)
This is for ALLLLLLLLLL YOU SAILORS IN THE NAVY OR WHO WERE EVER IN THE NAVY...TO MY ANGEL BABY MICHAEL ANDREW GIRVIN ON THE U.S.S. ORISKANY CVA-34...ALONG WITH HIS BROTHER WHO SERVED ON THAT SHIP WITH HIM; TOMMY; OUR BEST MAN JEFF DILLS & ALL THE REST OF V-1 DIVISION...ON THE "MIGHTY O"! OOOOWEEE BABEE''S! 🫂🏖🏝🌞⚡️🌀🌦🌧🌨🌪🌩🌫🌬💦⚓️🌊🚢🌊
Frankie Ford had a good voice and was an excellent entertainer but give credit where it's due. "Sea Cruise" was written and originally recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith. Management at Ace Records decided to let Frankie sing lead on the recording and he re-wrote some of the lyrics to get "writer's credit". Poor old Huey Smith literally got screwed out of the credit and a lot of $$$ because of Frankie and Ace Records management.
That... nameless wonder (why is that?)... is crap. Frankie was a great friend.. he thanked Hey every concert before he sang the song. And take look at the records... writer.. Huey Piano Smith
One of the grooviest records ever made. Spectacular in every way
Do you know what it's looks like magen robut girl doll girl waiting on UA-cam videos https Android video on
Yup, it sure is. :)

Could easily be a HIT today ~ Great Tune ~ Lively ~ #TheDodger
I was 9 years old, living in Malibu, Ca. about 2 miles from the beach, it doesn't get any better than that, fun times, great memories.

What a performer. Up there with Darin, Rydell, Sinatra.
Good job lipsynlcing
Rather beyond them, except maybe Bobby Darin. Sinatra barely had his foot in the door. And why you picked 3 Itaglians?

Ooo-wee was he GORGEOUS!
Rest In Peace, Frankie Ford

Funny how everyone was into chewing gum in the old days!
If this doesn't get your feet moving then you must be in a coma or just plain dead.
Geez! I can do without the interminable LOUD ads!
The kids look underwhelmed alright.
What better song to dance the jitterbug to than this. Only Little Richard could have done this better.
What the hell is Elvis doing there at 2.04???
Certainly looks like Elvis that for sure
@@antonematos6241 Well, I have just viewed it again, together with my wife and we both agree that this guy, if it is not him, should be...
Is it just me or does the audience seem not all that interested
I love that music& email me or text me something sweet, love u bb thats great just like u;)
Did Frankie Ford own a "nudist colony"?
lenspaulding idk
That audience row looked bored. Couldn't they pan on better people?
LOL!!!
Crystal Gonzales they were mezmerised
Love that Rhodes Scholar chomping on his gum!
Frankie Ford did a great job
lip-syncing his songs. Many of the singers on American Bandstand had difficulty doing it.
Frankie Ford had a good voice and was an excellent entertainer but give credit where it's due. "Sea Cruise" was written and originally recorded by Huey "Piano" Smith. Say what you want but a cardboard cut out could present the show better than this guy. Wooden or what?
AWW, I thought that Frankie Ford had a cute smile!
