A real common man I saw for many times in his movies. Even now in real life you look the same. Your voice sounds the same. A real actor down to earth. Aap ki movies dekhne ke baad pata nahi kyun us jamane me jakar aapke samne khade hone ko maan karta hai.

Hats off to Amol Palekar. '
He is not just a good and mature actor and director but also a great philosopher from the perspective of Indian cinema.
He does clearly understands the disconnect between past and present era and also effectively communicates his thoughts to the interviewer with absolute simplicity and clarity.

I relate myself with his acting and movie. Few other heros movies make me feel that only he or a hero like him can have a life like that. He is the best!!!

Wow, what an actor truly committed to art was Amol Palekar. His movies were so simple, nice that one could feel the beauty of life in its positivity. And because of Amol Palekar and such good actors could we get such nice movies from such nice directors like Basuda, Hrishida, Shyam Benegal who didn't made movies just for box office or fame or profits, but for the society and true cinema lovers. How we miss these people today.

  • @74mramesh

Whatever Amolji did was perfection. He explains things and we realize how true it is. My generation misses him and remember his movies and TV serials like "Kachchi Dhoop". I think children should be made to watch this serial through the schools. When we watch him perform, we forget it is him because he enacts the character so well.
Please do make more movies in Hindi.

Actually Amol Palekar Saab was not a actor, he was an artist, an artist who act in movies. It is the difference between him with other star, superstar of that time. The others became first hero, then star and afterward superstar, but they could not able to being an artist, But Amol palekar whose entrance in bollywood with three superhit movie respectively, he had shown his courage to act as a villain in very next film. It is the difference between he and other superstars of that time like Amitabh Bachchan. Love from Bangladesh

He is one of the finest actors of all times.
His performances were real and never over the top.
He didn't believe in larger than life acts and symbolised common man and one can easily connect with his roles in Rajnigandha, Choti Si Baat, Chitchor, Gharonda, Golmaal etc.
His films mostly were about those situations and dilemmas which an ordinary person faces in his day to day life.
And with his natural acting, he simply excelled in those roles and common Indian of 70s-80s easily connected with his acting and mannerisms.
He was simply like a guy next door would be. Shy, hesitant, reserved, a bit introvert etc.
That's the reason his films were hugely liked and were great success at Box Office.
He held his own at a time when action heros such as Dharmendra, Amitabh Bachchan, Vinod Khanna, Shatrughan Sinha etc were ruling the roost.
He created his own audience and stuck to his guns giving us some memorable performances.

Amol Palekar, with the boy-next-door looks but exceptionally natural acting talent, appealed to all. Men could relate to him as "one of them" and women adored him for his easy ways and not because he swept them off their feet.
I call him Dustin Hoffman of India who became a star without really being the typical "star material." His popularity and appeal are testimonials that moviegoers of those times could look beyond the star quality and embrace substance for its own worth.

"Cinema changes with changing time /its changed values-that is inevitable and is the correct form....cinema cannot remain constant & must portray the contemporary situations .....that is why we should not look for the cinematic language of 70s"..................What a clarity of thought !
