Oh my god. I've spent 7 years editing on videostar as a kid and I'm working as an editor now so I use premiere but haven't used after effects at all and most of the people I work with never touch it because it's intimidating. I haven't touch it because of the same thing but now that I need it for a project, I needed a tutorial. I have never seen someone explain it so easily in years. i have some really bad adhd and a lot of these videos are hard for me to grasp. my brain just doesn't accept the information and i just can't understand. for some reason this has been one of the only videos that has gotten info into my brain after like, 2 years of trying to do AE. i taught myself imovie, final cut pro, and premiere. i edit in film school and do somewhat professional work. yet after effects i could never grasp. im trying, and thanks for helping a start.
OH MY GOD I MADE MY FIRST TRANSITION ITS SO EASIER THAN VIDEOSTAR WHAT THE HECK edit: I had to delete AE because my 7 day trial was over. I can afford just one month now, and I made an edit of spins, zoom in/out, and slides. I'm really proud of it :DD edit 2: I got ae again and some plugins!! I'm excited to start editing again, tysm lauren ur tutorials are rlly helping c:

i've been editing for about two years on after effects and i wish i had this tutorial at the time. Especially since you put your actual voice in it!! so much more helpful than a text box. @@riannecopter6920 Pre-composing pretty much just makes your original clip into a new clip, so all other transitions you put in the original clip just becomes a new layer and you can't see your effects you did the last time so you also add more effects and don't get messed up. Like for example, i'm seeing two tutorials and I want to do two effects to the clip (slide and position rotation) so you can't add another position to the clip since you already have one position keyframe, so you need to pre-compose that clip and get another position to do the position rotation.

This is an awesome video. And this is also the funny thing about most of Adobe’s creation programs, they seem like the steepest, most daunting mountain to climb, but what you take the time to learn the basics in one or two of their programs, you end up getting an idea on how to work your way around the rest of the programs.

MOOD HABHAHA if you download blurmocurves (which is a sapphire plugin) and add it to your clip, it should be there? i gave up on blurmocurves because my motion tile wouldn't work. blurmocurves and yk, your classic transform transitions are the same thing, but apparently blurmocurves is smoother. i use transform and my transitions are pretty smooth sometimes! i've started using nulls to make them even smoother and it works! :) hopefully that helps :) - another beginner ae editor
izuku supremacy as a blurmocurves user, you actually don’t want to use motion tile, you want to use wrap X and wrap Y (on blurmocurves) and change both to reflect.

im going to be comepletely honest. i just asked my dad for ae and he said yes but in the case that i study learn and take time into so i agreed. @@lilibars after effects is a monthly payment subscription but you can get it for free, am is free and you can do cool transitions but you can pay for effects

This is an awesome video. And this is also the funny thing about most of Adobe’s creation programs, they seem like the steepest, most daunting mountain to climb, but what you take the time to learn the basics in one or two of their programs, you end up getting an idea on how to work your way around the rest of the programs.

sorry this is late but i think you have to make sure that motion blur and the 3d box thingy are enabled
MOOD HABHAHA if you download blurmocurves (which is a sapphire plugin) and add it to your clip, it should be there? i gave up on blurmocurves because my motion tile wouldn't work.
blurmocurves and yk, your classic transform transitions are the same thing, but apparently blurmocurves is smoother. i use transform and my transitions are pretty smooth sometimes!
i've started using nulls to make them even smoother and it works! :)

izuku supremacy as a blurmocurves user, you actually don’t want to use motion tile, you want to use wrap X and wrap Y (on blurmocurves) and change both to reflect.

im going to be comepletely honest. i just asked my dad for ae and he said yes but in the case that i study learn and take time into so i agreed. So i havent downloaded it yet but i wanted to wat h some tutorials on beforehand, so i search for some ae tutorials (even tho i knoew lauren is the best ae editor) so i look for a video she has made and i find this one. honestly lauren this video is so helpful and the way you explain things so clearly and calmly is just so amazing for someone trying to learn the qualities and amazing things ae has to offer. so thank you
