I've been driving with my headlights on during the day for 25 years now due to all the idiots out there. Let's them see me coming, that & defensive driving has kept me accident free (knock on my head). Love these mini videos!!
anyway, I hit the wrong button and sent my comment incomplete, I started to say I loved the ACE hardware store that was near my old house. They have the best nut and bolt section a round. I haven't found, a store like ACE here yet. thank you for your video
Thank you so much for showing very concisely how to work the headlight covers. So many of the books and videos about Model As assume that you know how to do stuff intrinsically.
Thank you so much! This is how I feel also, so this is why I’m making my videos the way I am now, so that even someone with no mechanical aptitude can work on a Model A 💕
Nice job! I just contacted Paul a few minutes ago to ask what the little lamps were for in my headlight assembly. He let me know that my headlight switch had 4 positions! I had no idea there was a position to the left of "OFF"! I feel a bit silly but in my defense the switch did not really want to move in that direction. Evidently it has not been that way in a very long time! I agree with you on how those LED's would really light up the road but I like the antique yellow glow better. :) Great video!
Thank you so much! That is what I want my channel to be, I want even the non mechanical person to feel like they can accomplish anything on a Model A 💗
I lost the adjusting screw and found a replacement. Worked great and it was all fun and games until I turned on the lights and next I knew I had smoke emitting from under the hood. Opened the hood and found the entire light harness and horn wiring all burnt up. The screw I used was too long and shorted against the contact. Funny thing is after I replaced the wiring harness, I found the correct screw in the cross member in front of the engine mount. Your replacement went much better.
Thanks for all the explanations. It's great to know that LED are made, fitting into the model-A sockets. I'm not a fan of "cool white". So if the same bulb exists but around 3000°K that would be super. BTW ... The link to "Mike’s Afordable" isn't working in Europe. I get a warning for phishing and virus-risks from YT.
Thank you so much! Ya not sure if they are sold like that, worth a check. Maybe try going on a web browser instead of UA-cam to look at Mikes? Or widen your phishing and virus…not sure how to do all that lol
The main focus is to focus on changing to LED's and focus the light. To paraphrase, the focal point of this video is to focus! I'm sorry, I seem to have lost focus on what I'm doing here... Good stuff, Tina! Thanks.
If you hook up the battery cables backwards, the radio won't play, it will listen. The horn won't blow, it will suck. And the lights won't shine, they will cast shadows! Looks like that bulb of yours was casting shadows! Later!
As a domestic goddess, you have to deal with carpet. Rugs. Flooring. Question : If a vacuum cleaner is horrible, do you say that it sucks? But then if works really well do you say, 'This thing sucks!' Sort of like park in the driveway and drive on the parkway stuff. Things that make you laugh!
First off, glad to see your doing better Tina. Second, thanks for shopping ACE Hardware. Those fasteners you saw were from The Hillman Company, and I'm trying to get them to offer more slot headed screw assortments that us car people need.
Thank you so much 💕 Yes, I definitely need to go out at night and drive…soon Roadie will be more road worthy and I just might not make it home before dark! Have a great day!
Good job Model T, always enjoy watching your videos, very thorough and polite, too. It's nice to watch good folks like you and Paul, I love those old vehicles, love what you both are doing. I hope your week is going good and continue to have a blessed week.
I have those same lights in my Model T. They make both the bright ones and "Warm White" ones to look more like the incandescent bulbs. Although with the T ignition system being so electrically noisy the lamps flicker all the time when they're not turned on....
The latest focused beam projector LED headlamp bulbs are the closest which I’ve found to be light sabers for the Model A. My experience concurs with the article published in the Restorer Magazine. If one drives consistently after dark they are definitely worth the somewhat stiff $50 each purchase price. Upgrading the stop/tail lights to LED technology for improved safety can be a good follow up video. Enjoy the roadster. 😀 At times I wish for a closed car rather than my roadster, but it is a very rare occasion.
Hi! Thank you for sharing! I actually made a video on brake light LED, I talked about it in the video, which reminds me, I have to make sure I put a link in the description…yep, I did! Have a great week!
I installed logo lights leds in my model t and it was a world of difference . But I ran into a problem of flickering . Found out I was getting an induced voltage from the high beam side to the low beam side through the wiring . Fixed that by installing a pair of rectifiers . Since then I have switched all the lights to lee . The parking and brake lights are so much brighter . Waiting to get her on the road so I can try the headlights at night
Tina, In my 2009 car (Scion), I replaced all of the lamps with LED's. Much better output. Headlights are now HID's Even the dome light has been changed. BTW, GOOD JOB!
Thanks for the information on focusing the headlights with LED bulbs. Can you ask Paul if he knows if more teeth on the Speedometer gear A17272 will result in a faster mph indicator?
Henry did it right, none of this crappy polycarbonate headlight lenses that oxidize and need to be polished or replaced. No plastic retaining clips, but rather a rather a clever one screw spring retention fastener.
Everything was better back then in my opinion, things were made for the consumers benefit. Now companies just want to take the money knowing the quality is poor and the consumer will have to give them more money sooner because it doesn’t last long. It’s truly become such a throw away society unfortunately. Take care Mack 💕
Thank you so much 💗 I’m feeling much better and healing well! If you don’t mind my Amazon affiliate link, here’s the link to the LED lights that are Model A compatible- amzn.to/43hJhvT
It's so cool to see you in your own A.Just recently installed LED'S in our car but haven't had the opportunity to find out how they look after dark. Please keep us up on all your new adventures. Just for the heck of it, what's the name on your chicken coop? Also, thank you so much.Be safe and enjoy. Thx.
Love how Roadie continually improves under your ownership!
No more night squints, just plain sailing.
Awe thank you so much! 💕

It’s so true, people drive crazy these days! Thank you so much and stay safe 💗
Excellent work. I do love the charm of the original bulb but the safety of the LED's is attractive.
I agree with you completely! Have a great weekend 💗
Great job Tina, there is no stopping you now!
Thank you 💗

Awe, too bad you hadn’t watched the video where I changed the brake lights to LED’s, I showed how the switch has the different positions 😁💕
What a great explanation of the steps needed to accomplish this small task! Easy for anyone to understand with no technical jargon. Way to go Tina!
Thank you so much! That is what I want my channel to be, I want even the non mechanical person to feel like they can accomplish anything on a Model A 💗
Great video! I usually lay a towel or blanket below the lights when I work on them, just in case something falls.
Thank you 💗 Maybe a good idea, maybe some aren’t as tight with the lens as mine is, it’s one thing on Roadie that’s secure at least 🤣
Well done - thank you for teaching us. Have a great week as well - God Bless! ~ Chuck
Thank you so much, have a blessed week! 💗
One thing I learned the hard way on old bulbs is to wear gloves. Sometimes, if they get really hot a few times, they become fragile.
Good to know, thank you! 💗 Stay safe!
This is awesome Tina! Good video.
Thank you Hal 💗
We're those 1929 LED bulbs... LOL. GOOD JOB!!
Lol, yep! 😁😂
Thank you 💗
Hi Tina!: Another great video! Now roadie is stylin' at night! Learned a lot about the "A" headlight system!
Hi! Thank you so much Jeffery 💕 have a wonderful week!
I can see I can see !
Better night lighting is a great thing !
Lol, love it! 💗

Have a great week 💕

Awesome job Tina. Model A cars are so fun to work on. Now Roadie wants a night drive to try out the new eyes.
