I never fail to be amazed how I still find really well made videos with under 2k subs 😢
Thank you so much! It just means you're always a trailblazer! Thanks for watching!
YOU are the hidden gem of UA-cam. I’ve been watching videos about Japan constantly for the last weeks (planning upcoming trip) and your video is by far the most engaging and beautiful I’ve seen.
Thank you for showing us places not so obvious.
You're far too kind! Thank you so much for your encouragement! I hope you have a wonderful trip and if you need any suggestions, please send me a message on Instagram!
This is the type of video, where the quality matches those having thousands of likes. The aesthetic, cinematography and the overall vibe deserves much more love! goodluck for the future my man :D
Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope you keep enjoying the videos!
Shimokitazawa has changed so much with in the last 10 years. It's become more corporate last time I was there. Enjoy it while you can.
Yeah, that's what I've heard. I really wish I could check it out back then!
yes indeed! just look at Takeshita-dōri and environs over the last 20 years to see where Shimo and other 'trendy' spots are heading..... but then, the quirky and the creative will pop up somewhere else, so.... (⌒▽⌒)
Yes it has but not in such a negative way. Been living in japan for a while, it’s nothing compared to the gentrification of its sister city and my hometown of NYC. I couldn’t even recognize my city last year between all the hipsters, unaffordable housing, tall glass buildings that look like your planet krypton, the dead nightlife, overpriced restaurants and take out deli’s where you are now forced to tip with extra tax added as well, $8-$9 Doughnuts (yes for one hipster gourmet doughnut), and way overpriced used clothing stores where the staff thinks they are working at Agnes B or Yoji Yamamoto. I have no desire to ever return, Tokyo suits me fine I’ll vacation in Europe next time.
duuude, your editing style is amazing; i enjoyed this video + the aesthetics very much!! keep up the good work!
Thank you so much! Definitely going to continue to make even more stuff!
yooo honestly ur video style is suuuuper cool dude! from the editing style, to the background music, to every scene, ur vid had me hooked from the start, keep it up!!!
Thank you so much for the kind words! I hope you continue to enjoy the videos!
Wow! What an incredible hidden gem in Tokyo. Can't wait to visit this city in the near future!
I can't wait for you to visit this place too! I hope you have amazing friends who are super cool and awesome to hang out with because they are awesome and cool.
i'm glad i came across your channel. really well informed videos and the fashion shots you include in them are my favorite!
Thank you so much! I hope you continue to enjoy the videos!
I really enjoyed watching your video. The cinematography is amazing
Thank you so much!
Dude, thank you for this tip. My wife and I are3 wrapping up a trip in Tokyo and had a hard time finding treats/souvenirs to bring home. We went to Shimo today and scored heavy vintage swag. The town was lovely and we had one of most pleasant days including a great curry soup lunch. You rock and really added to our experience. John and Liliana
Hey that's great! I'm so glad that this video helped you out! I hope you had an amazing trip and that you get home safe!
cool vid man! love it a lot, hope to see more vlogs from you!
Thank you so much! Definitely more to come soon!
Fujifilm never disappoints! Film simulation Recipes are sickkkk oh and btw love your edits!! Simple yet cinematic and clean 👏🏻
Thank you so much! Been loving shooting on the XT5! Learning new systems is always a struggle but been enjoying the process!
hey man, keep up the great creative work! Going to Japan for a vacation this year and inspired by your video adventures. Loving the colours you used and I think they portray the country and people really well.
Thanks so much! DM me on IG if you need any recommendations!
Hey, I just discovered this channel and I think it's really nice! Keep up the great work with this stuff
Thank you so much! It's been really fun making these videos! Thanks for enjoying them!
When i went to shimokitazawa the cafes were def the most memorable, loved the vibes and fits there
Yeah the cafes are so unique and stylish for sure!
Shimokitazawa was my favourite part of Tokyo when I was there in August.
Love that cinematography at the start, your camera is so damn fine.
Thank you so much! Shimokitazawa is such a cool area for sure! Hopefully the hot weather wasn't too bad!
@@Jermspang Dude it was dire. 2-3 showers a day on that trip. Moving to Japan for a year in September so at least I'll avoid August this time around!
Keep up the videos
I really like your editing style. It makes me feel like watching a 20th century Japanese movie. And the places you showed are all so beautiful and interesting. Great vlog. 👍
Thank you so much! I always appreciate you coming back!
Thanks for reviving memories of going there! We walked past the Thai place and thought it looked interesting 😊 Shimokitazawa is easily a place you can spend a whole day shopping. Only problem was-how feral the public toilets were! I was surprised and horrified. I find that Japan tends to not have enough public toilets for their population. Here in Australia there’s always plenty 😅 enjoy your time in Japan. I can’t wait to live there again
Shimokitazawa is such a cool place to spend a day for sure! Yeahhh, public toilets can definitely be a hit or miss there but in the newer areas, they were quite nice!
Thank you! It's been such a blessing to have a more extended period of time here. I hope you get the chance to live here again!
Awesome content. Thank you. I've been consuming tokyo content. I have my first trip to tokyo in a couple of months for a week. I'm nervous and excited.
Hey, that's awesome! I hope you have a fantastic trip! If you need any recommendations, please send me a DM on Instagram!
Nice... the way you present the places n restaurants.....you are down to earth n not showy....tone of voice good....thanks...will soon visit this area....
Thank you! I hope you enjoy yourself!
Great Video! Ill have to check this out!
Thanks! Definitely a super cool area for sure!
love it, thank you.
Thank you for watching!
great vibe , love the edit. btw what's the shell or jacket you're wearin ? cool techwear
Thank you! It's the Acronym J1A-GT!
Oh this is totally my type of neighborhood. Adding it to the list!
Awesome! I hope you enjoy it!
great quality video. i have that same jacket. know anywhere to buy acronym or outlier in tokyo? i couldn't find any last time i was in town
Thanks man! Ayyy more ACR heads. Nubian Tokyo has some! I also saw some in thrift stores too in Omotesando (Brand Collect, Kindal) and actually in this video I saw a Sacai x Acronym cropped jacket in Trefacstyle. You'll find it here and there but it's definitely not common here considering how expensive it is after import.
stumbled upon your channel, greetings from TWC discord! will be visiting Tokyo by end of feb :D
Ayyy, dang that's awesome! Oh really? DM me and hit me up!
Great Vid!
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Nice thumbnail! :)
I love Shimokita, but when talking about Hidden, have you had the chance of checking out Kōenji?
Probably my favorite shopping spot of my past trips.
Koenji not yet! Kichijoji I have but Koenji is definitely on the list! Do you have any recommendations?
dope vid!
Thank you so much! Big fan of yours as well!
Very cool
Thank you!
❤❤❤❤❤❤this place love this us couple in japan can i see more videos of japan, hugs from italy
Grazie! Definitely more videos coming!
Would you recommend this neighborhood for living for foreigners planning a long term stay? I’m a middle aged fashionable New Yorker that doesn’t mind living or commuting 30 minutes or so outside the city center and likes a not so touristy local scene. Thank you.
Take my word with a grain of salt as I've never lived there but I've heard good things! A little ways away is Kichijoji which is similar in vibe and I have some friends who live there and they really enjoy it! If you're looking for nice cafes, a pretty lively bar scene, and fashion you can't go wrong here.
i have mix feelings that shimokitazawa is getting more known to tourist, its slowly becoming a tourist trap and corporate
261 sub here!! new new!! love this!
Thank you so much! Now you're an og
i see acronym i click
Let's goooo
Hi Jeremy 🙉
Hi super friend
Shes lucky to have u
Thank you! I'm really blessed to have her too!
Shimokita is not so "hidden" :) Sure, for a tourist maybe, but for locals is a landmark for fashion and used clothes
Definitely known for locals! For tourists it's still a little less known compared to Harajuku/Ginza/Omotesando!
It's not hidden. It's in all the guides mate.
Yeah maybe!
Yo is that @tokyolens at 5:07 ??
Oh! I can kinda see it but I don't think it's him haha
