My neighbour a single dad on benefits who was very ill went to prison for 2 weeks for not having a TV licence. They waited and waited then put him in prision for Christmas and new year so he couldn't spend Christmas with his young girl. He was very ill and died soon after. The system stinks.

I live in Australia where have failed asylum seekers that have served time for very serious crimes and their countries of origin have refused to take them back. So to that end the government is trying to pass a bill to refuse and visa to enter Australia from people from Iran, South Sedan, Russia and Mozambique. They have been assessed as a security risk and a risk to the community in general. Desperate situations call for desperate measures. The international community in general needs to stand firm on this but that we need politicians with guts! Surely any governments duty of care is firstly owed to the people that elected it?
