  • Proxxon FET Ready for testing in real work
Here is a usable model ready to be tested in work. The construction has worked well so far, saws well and it is not difficult to loosen a single screw more to be able to open the saw. The side table is made from MDF pieces from the mess box, but I expect to make a new and nicer version when I am sure what the final version will be like.
It is an easy and quick project that can be done in one to two days, the most difficult thing was finding a plate of exactly 20 mm. I used a 19.3 mm MDF board. and glued 0.6 mm. veneer on one side it gave the desired 20 mm.
Please note that the 4 screws that secure the saw can also be used to adjust the height of the saw by + - 1 mm. something that makes it much easier to get the whole construction at the same height, precision is essential for a good result.

Such a small powerful saw. I see you took of the built in extension table. I assume you didn't like it?

Thanks for your comment, yes the small side table does not fit with the system I use but is Ok if you use the saw as it is from the factory.

Yes, I often saw acrylic on my saw, but use safety glasses

Do you have a solution to upgrade the motor power. I upgraded the power on my Proxxon bandsaw because the power of the original was pathetic and it transformed the tool. The FET saw is also very underpowered and I'm looking for tidy solutions to upgrade that too.

Electronics is not something I know very much about and I haven't heard of anyone who has done it, so I haven't considered it. But I agree that FET could use some more power.

@@Harris-DIY thank you my friend. I'll probably do a similar conversion as I did with the bandsaw

Do youi mind sharing how you upgraded your bandsaw? I have it also and I find the power to be insufficient. Look forward to hearing from you

They can be bought in many places, just search for 2040 aluminum profiles

Great skills' If you enjoy spending a lot of time trying to make and expensive toy into something else. There are many other brands that do what you are creating , out of the box. The older model that Microlux sells, made in Japan is a better machine. Thank You
