This talented and handsome young actor is also a very articulated during any interviews. You can tell that he very well educated, very well read. He gives you very clear thoughts. I enjoy his acting and live chatting.
“You know, like. Yeah and you know, how they you know, and then I audition for you know, Dorian Gray, and then you know I was casted for it. And you know make the best out of it.” JAJSJAHSHAH I CANT HES SO CUTE
I was very impressed with his acting as Dorian Gray. He managed to convey the youth, inexperience and innocence of Dorian in the first half so well. And then when he is corrupted, even though he looks exactly the same, the shift is there. He knows how to project his evil, depravity, and confidence through his eyes, in his looks and how he holds himself. I was absolutely blown away. What a phenomenal actor.
I think he played Dorian Gray beautifully. A lot of the remakes and stuff I've seen have either been just okay or complete rubbish, like it's a disgrace to the story, but the way that Ben Barnes created Dorian Gray made the movie a master piece on it's own apart from the original beauty published in 1890. To me, he made Dorian Gray an attractive character, and while rereading the book, I could see all the other characters as someone I imagine in my head, but I can only see Dorian Gray as him now. If they remake Dorian Gray again after this, I don't think it's gonna be as well done.
I was actually surprised at how well he played Dorian, not because I thought he was a bad actor, but because it's a very difficult role to pull off for anyone and he played it beautifully. Most actors play Dorian off as this flamboyant sexual deviant, but Barnes actually adds a lot of weight to the character: he's naïve, he's corrupted, he's tormented and, despite his masquerade of confidence, he's really quite vulnerable. I don't know if it's the screenplay, the directing or the acting, but there's no doubt that Barnes had a lot of passion and understanding for this role. I do, however, have a problem with the addition of Emily, but that's another vent for another time.
***** I completely agree. How well his acting was in the film for the character I feel has something to do with the fact that he read the novel as a teenager before he even started acting. In the words of Oscar Wilde, “It is what you read when you don't have to that determines what you will be when you can't help it.”
I have never seen such a beautiful haircut in my life that fits so perfectly to the face! I swear! Perfectly framing the face, defining the chin and highlighting dark eyes! Just wow! He looks amazing with this hairstyle and shaved face! He has very beautiful well-groomed hair! I love this movie and this actor!
I really think Ben Barnes did an excellent job playing Dorian Gray. He managed to capture all the different parts of the character’s personality and is a beautiful man. I really felt a lot of sympathy for Dorian I could see him struggling.
My favorite Dorian Grey. Even though I believe in the book Dorian had more fair looks, the way Oscar Wilde described him, probably his Bozie's influence, I think Ben really makes a stronger impact on us physically and psychologically. Plus a great looking man!
This is one of my favorite movies Ben has done. I love this interview as he reaches into himself to share with us his adaption of Dorian Grey. He is so well spoken and brings you into the movie.
Very beautiful surprise,i love this movie ...❤😊all émotions on expérience of Dorian discovered pleasure, violence,jalousie,love...and the tentations and vice in this life,he tried to become a New man,a good man and fight with his interiors demons.Thank you and that’s a beautiful révélation.❤sorry for my english...😊i try!
Uhhhh i just watched narnia prince caspian & couldnt believe i did not paid attentiom to ben barnes many years ago since i was younger & now im in love with him with his long hair omg and yes dorian gray uhhhhh
I feel like Ben did quite well on playing Dorian. Although I don't have a high opinion on the film as a whole, I feel like Ben did he's best from what he was given. I am currently re-reading the book and I will say the book is far better (as they usual are 99% of the time) but I take off my hat to Ben. Ps. I wish someone made a Harry Potter Maruders movie/show with him has Sirius. But at least we have the fanfics for that😂
I loved the movie very much, it was a creative remake with additions that affected the story in a positive way, making it relatable to our society's problems. Everyone acted so well, especially Dorian and Basil's actors. The depiction of Victorian era with gothic-aesthetic elements was nicely done. I have read the book a few years ago, but I tell you, I love this movie adaptation even more! Because when text becomes image and sound, it comes to life.
Ben barnes is in his 40s now still looking like he is in his late 20s when in here he is actually in his late 20s.... I'm convinced he might actually have a picture locked in his closet or smth😅
I associate myself with Dorian Gray from the movie of 2009 I'd rather sacrifice myself for someone I really care about than live forever in the pleasure and being fake
I have a friend who he's 20 and she looks 19. I got hear lot her fan talks she seem like 30 now and she plays 18 years old role. Then she fight it back saying stealing my age for whom play Fuk role her story for rest of her whole life.
Some people get the part where the book goes out of its way to describe how freakishly ghoulish and ugly the character is and how it's the character's main feature... this guy gets asked to play dorian gray. The ego boost that must give 😂
He's 27 here and he looks 18. He's damn well 40 now and he can still play this role.
I think everyone is thinking that his cursed painted teen portrait lies somewhere in this actor's attic.
