I’m so glad your mom and brother got to keep their sweaters…it’s special, the memories you’ve made and got to share with them. I’ve watched you from your very first podcast to present and I’ve always been so intrigued by how your knitting has grown so quickly. Your patterns are amazing. ❤ How exciting for your trip to Rhinebeck with Megha! Make room in your suitcase for lots of treasures! I think you should do a creme and sunflower yellow striped sweater…makes me think of summer.

Can’t wait for the tee shirt pattern. I’ve yet to find a basic one that I like. It would be so versatile and wearable for the summer. You said it yourself. One of my most worn items. Could be a great “potato chip” knit. Just one more!

Thank you Rebecca - your podcast is a delight as always. And can I thank you for introducing me to WoolyKnit, who I only became aware of from watching your podcast, despite the fact that I live less than an hour’s drive from the mill in Diggle! I went over there with a knitting friend a few weeks ago and what a lovely place - and lovely people. I’m currently knitting the Cargill using their 4ply British wool (held with some WYS laceweight yarn) and it’s coming along great. Really looking forward to the tee pattern - and as for the thorn stitch, stunning! Looking forward to the next podcast already. Your enthusiasm is so infectious.

I think the Ash Grey and Optic White would make a very cool classy tee, but you can’t go wrong with the classic red/white; navy/white; black/white; they would all look fantastic. It would be a fantastic all-year-round wardrobe staple, not just for summer, wear with a cardigan in the cooler months. Can’t wait for the pattern. I love Woolyknit too ❤

Whew! A very full episodes. You now have an official family sweater- lol! So cool! I can’t wait to try the new lacy cardi that is out for test knitting. If you are making another lace cardi, I would go with the lighter shade. If others are making bright colours, yours will provide contrast and also show options for makers who don’t like bright colours. Your new summer knit sounds terrific- although I live in the Interior of BC Canada and have the opposite problem to a Scottish summer, it is too blinking hot for any kind of knits in the summer, but they do work well for spring and early fall. I made a summer T last year and will be giving it away to someone who lives near the coast where the summers are a bit cooler. So many colours look great striped with cream or white, so just go for whatever tickles your fancy. I think you will have a blast at Rhinebeck meeting so many other makers that you know. I have never been and likely won’t as it is a long way for me and I would be solo, but I have rarely heard any negative reviews of this yarn event. Looking forward to seeing your new knits!

So many wonderful and exciting things for you! You have so much to be proud of. I am looking forward to knitting the lacy cardigan and the tee shirt patterns when they are released. I have orange Knitting for Olive silk that might work for the tee, and may stripe it with a cream or pink; to be determined. I am so excited for you as you plan for Rhinebeck. It is on my bucket list, but not this year, and how wonderful that you and Megha will meet and have a yarn crawl through out New England. All of this sounds just wonderful. Thanks for another lively but thoughtful episode.

I like your rambling knitting thoughts and ideas! I especially enjoyed your previous podcast talking about, and critiquing, all your garment knits in 2022. Like you, not a super fan of cotton, but willing to give it a go for a summer T. For me, 1811, 1822, or 1826 would be my choices for a strip. Might even do several complimentary colors. Endless possibilities! Good luck with the design.

Hi! So lovely to join you for the podcast again! I always look forward to this time. For your stripe, I really liked the seafoam. It's such a fresh, cool, summery colour for the t-shirt. Really, almost any colour will work, but I have been drawn to vintage greens this spring. I am so excited for your trip this fall. I've heard of Rhinebeck but have not gone. Perhaps one day. However, my friend and I have gotten tickets for Knit City Montreal in May. It is supposed to be quite the fibre fest. It is only a couple of hours drive for me. So looking forward to it. Your fall sweater swatch looks divine! I can't wait to see the results. Take care!

I again loved your podcast. And with every of your designs or plans for designs I immediately think that I want to make it 😊. For your striped version I would combine cream with crimson or don’t use cream (I am not a white/ cream person) but use 1820 pale mint with 1822 seafoam green. I think that will be fresh and different then the classic white with a colour . Have much fun with knitting, designing and podcasting and looking forward to seeing what it’s going to be. Thank you!

That Holst swatch is STUNNING, it remind me a little of the rustic Kerr sweater (might be the colours) and I am HERE for it. Can't wait for that testing call (or pattern release). I also remember that Drops Belle t-shirt and wanting to free hand my one too this summer, but this would be perfect! I love the idea of a moodboard, and i agree, the lento was a great opportunity to experiment. I could see red/white stripes, i think these are better than the classic navy/white. I also love the idea of little purl bump rounds. Can't wait to see all the ideas testers will come up with for this tshirt!

I am so excited to hear that you are coming to Rhinebeck. I can’t wait to meet you. The festival is about two hours north of New York City, but they can be variable due to construction and traffic, so be sure when you plan with Megha that you take that into account. Also, it is in the Hudson Valley of New York State. That is not really New England. New England comes next- Connecticut/Massachusetts/Rhode Island/Vermont /Maine and that can be quite a drive depending on which state you plan to go to. don’t know if you have made hotel or inn reservations yet near the fairgrounds. But I suggest that you do because they go fast. I hope that coming to a US fiber festival will spark your interest in more variegated and speckled yarns with colors outside of what you normally use. I lived in NYC for 18 years and and I’m happy to give you restaurant suggestions when the time gets closer.

There’s so much to say. In no order too. I’d love to see you do the mint color on the sweater. But actually all the ones showed would be beautiful. On the same note, when you first started thinking about what to knit with your yarn support a short sleeve cardi came to mind. Also with some easy embroidery. Or a lace cardigan. Rhinebeck. You will fall in love. I hope you’ll do a get together for a quick meet and greet ‘on the hill.’ You’ll hear about that the closer we get. But since you’re going to be there that will change my mind about going! You’ve got several knits coming and I can’t wait to see! ❤

Ohh amazing! Thanks for this. I think my Anglican brain just thinks that all of that North-East coast counts as New England but good to know it's not!

@@the.creabea The New England states are Vermont, Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts (where I was raised), Connecticut, and Rhode Island. New York shares borders with Massachusetts, Connecticut, and Vermont. In either case, autumn is a considered as beautiful in the Rhinebeck area as it is in New England. I, on the other hand, would LOVE to travel to your part of the world!

A lovely positive episode stuffed full with interest and inspiration . What a great family photo . My my some great knitting for us all to come .
As for thoughts on a colour for the cotton stripe ... maybe to throw in different mood a softer contrast as the other colours are bold .... the sea foam ? I did get one of those spam things but decided not to send you a notification being sure you knew already and didnt need to answer yet another mail ...... as like any undesirable behaviour I would prefer not to give it energy . Back to the "up" news excited for you on your trip to the US . This side of the water not long till Perth . Kerrie

I am enjoying my #LetsLento sweater. I have just one sleeve finished. It would be complete but a friend has recently been diagnosed with stage 4 small cell carcinoma. 😢. I stopped to make chemo hats for her. Now the weather is warm and I am having problems picking up a mohair project. Now I am being distracted by a Viola tee in cotton.

Are you planning on just going to the Rhinebeck festival on the Saturday and Sunday, or are you also planning on going to the pre-rhinebeck festivals on the Friday. There are three festivals that all take place the day before Rhinebeck called Wool and Folk, Indie Untangled and Cakepaluza (spelling of the last one is probably not correct).
In NYC there are numerous yarn stores, the main ones are:
    Knitty City
    Annie & Co
    West Village Knits
    Downtown Yarns
    String Thing Studio
    Argyle Yarns
    Woolyn
    Brooklyn General

Do the white/cream 1826 Sunflower Yellow, with maybe 1 or 2 rows of the blue you already have on the top and bottom of the yellow.
I think it would be super cute and summery

I am also going to Rhinebeck this year, I'll be going completely solo though as I have no yarny friends but I'm hoping I'll make some while I'm there. It's been on my bucket list for a while and I'm super excited. I've got the day off work tomorrow so I'm going to drive over to the Wooly Knit mill and take a look at their real life shop - I discovered I only live about 20 mins away. Exciting or dangerous, I can't quite decide 🤔

Pick up every stitch is New York(Mt Kisco), not in New England. In new York City you can visit Knitty City, Purl Soho unfortunately still closed

Hi Rebecca, you are such a talented designer, all of your designs are fabulous! I’ve started to think about summer knits so I’m thinking of a Corran cardigan in a cotton Merino and I’m excited about your t-shirt pattern. I love the eyelet pattern but for a striped one, didn’t you say you’d been sent some apple green? That would really suit you I think and bring out the green in your eyes. Otherwise the copper colour would be good for you. Also thinking of a Corran in a bright colour to match your other testers, what about orange? That Lava Neon Orange shade would really make a statement. I love your Thorn stitch swatch and am looking forward to seeing how your sweater progresses. I really enjoy your podcast including the rambling 😊

Hello!!! So excited that you’ll be coming to the Hudson Valley for Rhinebeck!!! The Observatory Shop in Hastings on Hudson is another great place to stop, as is Beetle and Fred in Beacon. I live in Mt Kisco, where Pick Up Every Stitch is located and though the shop is nice, the town is a bit drab. Hastings and Beacon are much more interesting and picturesque and would be good pit stops on your way to Rhinebeck. I think Beacon also has a vegan/veg restaurant. Hope this helps!
