Uh oh, I followed your guide and everything went well but now my LCD seems kinda dim? Like, not the backlight, the LCD itself. What did I do wrong? If I look at it at a slight angle above or below head on it goes invisible.

The screen is already pretty bad at other angles and since this does dim the screen it gets worse. The best angle before and especially after is just slightly tilted up as looking from the bottom seems best. This mod makes it easy to backlight but it dims the screen.
@@zarcha Figured out the issue, I though I had 15k resistor, but it ended up being a 5k. I just added a 10k in series and its much better. Really wish it could be a bit brighter but its plenty visible in the dark. I did this on the US version of the DMX so I can confirm C8 is in the same spot, as well as 15k resistor is about right. @@bitGnome im glad you solved it. do you mean the backlight being brighter? i only really wanted to see it once it was dark so not seeing it under normal light was just fine for me. as for the screen i find how visible it is just fine so it all comes down to preference i suppose. it probably also depends on how you play, since most of the vpets have bad screens they already need to be tilted a bit and the backlight starts doing its job when i start having a hard time seeing.
i got a small lcd screen like that one, removed the backlight sheet same as you did and it worked fine. when i trimmed down the screen i had to cut some of the lights off and it no longer worked?
I went through a full evo line up omegamon and then some and noticed nothing. It will affect battery life but I don’t think it will be a lot since it does turn off with the screen and is only one or two small leds usually.
@@zarcha cool I’ve been dying to try something like this .. and have seen so many different variations, I saw someone do the backlight like this but ran it to a switch and another battery inside the case.
@@MrHondagod I have seen someone else make it so that they could turn the lights on/off by holding the B button. I actually prefer that since I really like the V-Pets design so extra buttons and switches are not exactly okay for me.

Could you tell me why we use the Resistor for this MOD? Does the light work FINE if bypassing this resistor?
about how long does the battery last with a 15k resistor vs an 18k resistor?? (comparing this to the newer video)

I havnt watched it in awhile but I'm fairly sure I talk about the fact this mod makes the backlight turn on and off with the screen automatically.

Do you hace the schematics for the dmx? Or is it the same as the dm20?

Only way you could get the screen to look less washed out would be to bivert the image
