Why were these lowlifes able to commit 78 violent robberies before they were caught? These aren't misguided kids. A misguided kid is one who takes Mom's car without permission. Anybody that commits 78 violent/armed robberies is a hardened criminal. Dow Constantine, perhaps they should come stay at your place!

I didn't steal her car. I just borrowed it for some joyriding. Is that what she said?

Seventy eight violent crimes. If they are released, I have some questions. Do you think this is fair to the entire rest of the people of this community, the county and the state? Do you think this is right? Do you think this approach is working? If so, I'd like to see the statistics. For once, can we get an honest answer as to why this state refuses to punish criminals, juvenile criminals included, even when they are just as capable of committing as devastating a crime as an adult. Who does this benefit? What does this approach of catch and release solve? Why are our officials allowing this instead of changing the laws?

The prosecutors and judges are all super liberal and they do not care about the non-criminal citizens. Seattle is like Gotham City right now with the psychos running everything.

    What? Really?
You mean yall finally understand not prosecuting them isn't working?

They've only been arrested. A prosecutor has to make a decision whether to prosecute and 99% of the time in Washington state the prosecutor does not prosecute. So judges release these people over and over again

Youth crime has been treated with kid gloves for way too long. These are not children. They are predators that are all too often repeat offenders. They have expoitrd a system too soft on youth crime. Where the heck are charges against their parents or guardians? Where is their community that should be holding them accountable?
There is a disproportionate concern for 'saving' the youths' futures vs. the incredible trauma the victims endure. Who looks after saving the victims' futures?
It's time to lower the accountability age for property and violent crimes. At the very least, start arresting the parents or guardians.
It's also time for Washington State to enact laws that allow parents more room for parents to discipline their kids. The current laws assume the parent is guilty, the child is innocent, and the child needs the school and state to protect them - all without the parents' knowledge. That approach almost destroyed our family and put others at a dangerous risk.
We had a child with behavioral issues that could have ended someone's life. The reason she didn't is because we took responsibility to get her help, warn her school, stay on top of where she was, and what she was doing.
With Washington laws being what they are, all the sympathy was for the child. The school, therapists, and family all looked at her like a child incapable of the acts she repeatedly threatened to do, including torturing animals. We had almost no help and were blamed for her behavior, in spite of testing results from Seattle Children's Hospital and another PhD.
Washington legislature needs to wake up to the fact that no one knows their child like most parents, that loving discipline helps children learn right from wrong, and parents should be the center of outside 'help' when it comes to their children.

Actually adult crime has been treated with kid gloves. Criminal adults have been released over and over again. Even those arrested for murder.

@mackmckay588 💯 Washington State keeps putting the hope of criminal rehabilitation over victims' and citizens' rights. I am an independent anti-Trump voter, but I am seriously considering Dave Reichert (not Trump affiliated) for the governor because Washington State's soft approach on crime and defending victims and citizens has become nauseating and dangerous for public health.

Sadly a judge has already released them all just like the judge has released then previously over and over and over again for every crime they've done. Also for those that don't know when police make an arrest it's simply means that the criminal mind or might not go to jail. It is the prosecutor that makes that decision. The judge makes a decision whether or not to release the criminal. And sadly in Washington state every prosecutor and every judge instantly decides that the criminal will not be prosecuted and the judge immediately releases back out onto the street to continue terrorizing the public

Seattle Police department can't afford a microphone to be used by audience members to ask their questions so that the public can actually hear the question. Instead the questions are not audible by the public.

The lesson is, kids- if you’re going to engage in violent felonies, take a break when you get to about the 75th one. Seattle does have its limits.

  • @kanenomoja

I guess the only question for Seattle is why did you change your mind? The first 78 violent felonies were just fine. Your new line in the sand is 81?

Cops were sitting in the small eating establishments having their donuts and coffee and they didn't even notice that there was a robbery occurring. They didn't notice 78 times.

Seriously? You still think it's the cops fault? Understand, it's the judges who set them free 78 times!
