Recently bought a Bertucci A-2T Original Classic Titanium and was kinda shocked at how much I liked it. Really solid construction, great strap, good lume, on the hands at least, and even a screw down crown at 4 o'clock. I'm not really a quartz guy, but for the price, it's really well done and I feel like I got my money's worth. If you need a rugged yet stylish beater, the Bertuccis fit the bill IMHO.
Steven Wymor I just picked up the titanium A2-T with the leather strap from their “closeout bin” section. First quartz I’ve bought in....many years. But I’m honestly looking forward to this one. It seems so massively overbuilt.
Most Bertucci watches that I have looked at have this problem, I have one and realigned all the hands and it's now hitting the ticks, it took sometime to get it right though. Would be nice not to have to do this!
It is that Red Stripe on the back protection sticker that causes that, its rare to find a Chinese watch that the hands are perfectly aligned . Bertucci is another company that touts being American but all they did was design the watch and have it made in china and import it.
I like the look of this, would even buy, but this aspect alone is unacceptable to me in a watch. China can get this right on a $2 watch... Why can't others?
I saw an A-4T for sale in a pawn shop for less than $100. & it still had the factory plastic on the crystal and band, so I grabbed it. I'm not usually a quartz watch person but I made an exception with that one. The threaded crown was another plus for me but it has the same registry issues as these watches. Aside from that it's a great watch in my opinion.
What did you mean by "registration woes" at 4:37 ? Are you talking about how accurately the quartz seconds hand movement lines up with the second increment indices? I only have two quartz watches: my seiko sne039 which I absolutely love for $84 and a timex explorer that I like the dial of but hate how loud it is. I hate how wobbly the seconds hand is and I hate that it never lines up with any of the indices. The seiko on the other hand is inaudible and lines up pretty much perfectly on every tick. The seconds hand movement is decisive and accurate not wobbly and sloppy.
Very nice watches. I definitely like the unique style of these. I am a big fan of field watches in general. I have been wanting to get on of the Titanium versions for the durability and weight. But now I have another choice to decide on!
Hi Mark Watches that do exactly what they say on the tin.Good affordable pieces for the average watch lovers that are not offended by quartz movements.I think they would be a good starter piece for anyone thinking of collecting as a hobby.👍🏻
Thanks for this Mark - so is Citizen the OEM for the Japanese movement? Maybe it doesn’t matter at this price point but would be good to know. Also - if I purchase this model from you can you recommend a crystal protector that’s pre-cut that will lay on top? Amazon usually pairs these when you search on Casios and Seiko - but I’ll buy the protectors from you if you can source them. Last question - are there after-market two-piece straps for Bertucci’s? Thanks - Jim
Hi mark I have a small wrist I have tried citizen field watch and pro-master diver. However what I find is they are too heavy. I am looking for a light weight feild watch that is both for office and field.
I've owned two Bertucci watches, an A-2T and A-3T, for years and love 'em both. Well designed and constructed; great value. I'll pass on the Experior though as it **seems** to lack a screw down crown -- can't find any reference to one at any rate. I wonder if Al as a case material is problematic for such a feature. Like the styling though.
To find a consistently accurate second’s hand lineup with the numbers go directly to the Marathon watches which you can find on the Longislandwatch website. Why Bertucci watches also found on the Longilslandwatch website repeatedly fails to line up correctly is a mystery to me. Perhaps Marc you can explain why Bertucci fails in this regard repeatedly while Marathon watches succeed repeatedly in this regard.
Aluminum is softer than base metal, brass, steel or titanium. However, in application, I don't think it'll be "literally falling apart" on you in day-to-day wear. Should be perfectly serviceable in its role.
E to the x E to the x dx Cosine tangent secant sine. 3 point 1 4 ,1 ,5 9 Yeah Engineering. Now I really want to buy from you. Waiting for my check. Excellent design crown at four, solid bars as a British field watch. Non magnetic. Subscribed. Italian who would have thought. Just missing a broad arrow or cage number. Something to replace my original Marathon field.
hello i was wondering do you have a european store? you have a lot of brands i like but cant buy. however buying from outside Europe costs a lot of extra money. tax + import cost + service charge + shipping cost could make a 100$ watch cost over 200$ all of a sudden. i know you had a amazon England account but you got removed
why so thick tho its just a regular quartz could be much thinner. make this watch with a sterile dial and lumed numerals no fancy logo anywhere and it would be great. even with quartz. i would like to have one of these then. that goes for many automatics as well. when will these watch companies learn normal ppl dont want to show off. we want simple sterile dials that are easy to read comfortable to wear functional dependable watches and not flashy bling bling stuff... make the dials sterile leave the case without logos and silly signs all over and you will sell no matter ur brand if the watch is fine. i don't want any random gibberish brand names on the watches. if its casio you will get ashamed if its rolex you will get ashamed its a fcked up society. lose the brands on the watch face make it all sterile stealthy hidden. super light always on the wrist not so expensive sterile dial automatic thats what i seek for long time. my options are do it yourself or do it yourself i guess heh.
Mate, take a look at Skagen. I'm not a fan personally, but they have some of the slimmest quartzes on the market. Super sterile dials as well. Lume is kinda nonexistent but they fit the bill perfectly otherwise.
For a workaday watch, quartz is ideal. I set the date and/or time once every couple of months and swap the battery every few years. Such practicality may be not be valued among collectors but for the great unwashed it merits appreciation.
There's a lot of silly stuff one can do, but wearing two watches at the same time is right at the top of the list. I get that you like watches. And, yes, you can wear whatever you want. It just makes you look like a fool.
Understood. You just aren't used to it. It's almost an ethno-centric comment. You aren't used to it, so you don't like it. When I look at someone wearing one watch, I think to myself "Whats wrong with that person!"

They are truly an underrated brand.
Long Island Watch yup.

I have the ss and ti models. I set it to a atomic clock and it’s very accurate. Looks great with all types of straps.
As the second sweeps, that alignment with the registration ticks leaves something to be desired. That kills me on so many watches.
Right, you need to overlook that here.
Most Bertucci watches that I have looked at have this problem, I have one and realigned all the hands and it's now hitting the ticks, it took sometime to get it right though.

My Seiko Tuna is close to perfect. My Tag Heuer is off quite a bit. It bothers the crap out of me. This is why most of my watches are automatics.
I like the look of this, would even buy, but this aspect alone is unacceptable to me in a watch. China can get this right on a $2 watch... Why can't others?
Man. These look so nice. That green/bronze one is amazing.
That is insanely light and a lot of presence on the wrist. Thanks!
Optimal number of watches always N + 1
LOL, true.

Nice addition!
Nice to see very good lume. What should be clarified is not only how bright, but equally important is how long the lume glows

That's exactly what I'm talking about.
Thanks! did a quick google and couldn't confirm.

I love it that Bertucci kept it simple. I have a Bertucci on call from you that just came in so it looks like I'll be buying two from you!
Great news! Thank you.
That's awesome, I'm wearing the exact same Seiko 5 today!
:)
Oh, how I wish more companies (Hello, Seiko) who made models with no day-date window. These watches look great because of that.
The date issue is a big one with many customers!
I'm with you. My first automatic will be a Seiko Pepsi PADI and the day/date is the one thing I dislike. Love everything else.
Does the annodizing prevent galvanic reaction to the stainless steel case back?
Yes, it does.
Hi Mark Watches that do exactly what they say on the tin.Good affordable pieces for the average watch lovers that are not offended by quartz movements.I think they would be a good starter piece for anyone thinking of collecting as a hobby.👍🏻
Perfectly put!
I like the green one and love that crown placement
Thanks for checking it out.
I like the font of the numbers! Great watch! ⌚
Thank you.

Lug to lug is long at 50.7 mm. That will make it wear even larger. Great looking watch.
Nice! Thanks for showing! Really like the green.
Thank you! Definitely the looker of the bunch.
Very cool fun watch.
Thanks Rob.
Hi mark I have a small wrist I have tried citizen field watch and pro-master diver. However what I find is they are too heavy. I am looking for a light weight feild watch that is both for office and field.
Hi marc how do you rate bertucci overal quality and value ?
Great watch I hav ever seen
Mark do you have to a special battery to get the 3 year battery Life? Great looking watch.
Normal battery IIRC

I’ve always been a fan of black watches but I work in rough environments and Never purchased black due to scratching. How tough is the anodizing?
forevr2wheels don’t own it but I’m sure it would show. Check out their polymer resin watches they won’t show scratches and are super tough
I have to say personally I find the Bronze/Green dial to be particularly good looking , and even better only 40 mm.
Pretty cool looking, heh?
Nice video. It's got me wondering what other colours are available
I think there's 6 or 8 in total.

My Citizen Stiletto on its factory leather strap and sapphire crystal is 32.3 grams.
How durable is this aluminium in comparison to stainless steel etc?
Aluminum is softer than base metal, brass, steel or titanium. However, in application, I don't think it'll be "literally falling apart" on you in day-to-day wear. Should be perfectly serviceable in its role.
Hello Marc, a couple or a few, not much difference but the way it goes is one,, two,,, plenty 😂
That title tho
Just received that the monster third gen is available. Ordered it, hence no more fund for this watch ...LOL!!!
You are forgiven!
Nutnfancy would love this!
Let 'em know!
Are there any cool magnesium watches?
Not that I've seen.

We do not.
Nice video. That long lug-to-lug seemed to wear ok.
It does indeed.
@@islandwatch Do you think more watch manufacturers will start to use aluminum cases?
Very nice,I would like one,but I am afraid the customs in Greece are gonna charge a lot of extra money :(
Very nice. Too bad the second-hand doesn't line up with the markers. Typical of quartz watches.
Yes, it is.
Strap weighs more than the watch right?
No, but it's close.
Is it available in India?
Sure. We can ship there.
Damn...I was really hoping for a screw down crown...that's a major letdown for me...
It looks and sounds like a watch that would be excellent to wear when you are out for over 12 hours...
Right, because it's sooo comfortable.
Very light. Anx good price point
Very good!
I don't like quartz watches. Not a watch snob though. Just not my preference. These are really nice for the price though.
AERO-SPACE-ENGINEER YES I GRADUATED FROM MIT 1970 WITH THAT DEGREE...GREAT VIDIO
Thank you!

Me, reading the title: 🚨 QUARTZ ALERT 🚨
i think for an actual field watch it is perfectly fine. everyone needs a good beater watch for sports/work/camping.
Not necessarily bad Quartz Alert though!
Ugh yet another mecha-snob. Mate there used to be a time when you didn't even know what Automatic meant. You basically snob yourself of 20 years ago.
For a workaday watch, quartz is ideal. I set the date and/or time once every couple of months and swap the battery every few years. Such practicality may be not be valued among collectors but for the great unwashed it merits appreciation.
So not the best in a hot climate.
Why?
Sinn homage hahaha
LOL
