As an actress and singer, Annette began her professional career as a child performer at 12 years old. As part of the original Mouseketeers, she rose to prominence and transitioned to a successful career as a singer with the help of a few Sherman Brother’s songs, Tall Paul and Pineapple Princess. She went on to establish the “Beach Party” movie genre in the mid-1950s. This episode of the Disney Family Album was released in September 1985, 7 years before she announced that she had been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis.

Annette was one classy lady.
She never lost her self respect and was the epitome of professionalism.
I remember her well. I was born a year after her. She was clearly a paragon of decency in entertainment.
It's Disneyland before in 1955 it's looks like being back in time Disney world and Disneyland Disney company class starts at Disney plus on multiple different things Disney and the kids are doing well too New year would definitely be better than the same place
I used to love to watch The Mickey mouse club and the beach parties when I was young that's how I remember her those were the good old days and the innocent days where everyone had respect.....
A wonderful person from a simpler time. How I miss those days.

I watched it every day after school Essentially the Annette series
Annette was so down-to-earth and a truely extremely talented actress, singer, dancer. Annette was so respectful of Walt Disney and agreed not to show her navel in her movies. So many famous stars are so full of themselves but Annette was never like that. She was respectful and just such a kind personality. I just feel such sadness that her health situation and how difficult her later years became for her physically with MS.
Rest in peace for all time Annette.

Really enjoyed this look back at such a wonderful time and the life of the sweetest person. Had her paper dolls and other things of hers from back then. Always my favorite. So sad what she had to endure with the MS. Gone to soon. Always loved never forgotten. ❤
The Disney Family Album is obviously very old and one of my favorite Annette features! So interesting seeing Annette cabitz with Mrs. Funicello who we have heard so much about around the kitchen table in Encino. Annette just has that magic associated with her name. Pixie dust. Babes in Toyland was the thing that did it for me when I was a child. I remember reading the liner notes of the soundtrack to my mother back when: "Beautiful, young indeed, Annette Funicello..." My mother knew to correct me with the proper wordage of, "Beautiful, young NINETEEN, Annette Funicello..."

An entire generation of Baby Boomer grew up with Annette (and her best friend, Shelley Fabares). They represented the values and principles of the traditional American family. Our generation was not "perfect" but are modern times better? May God help us all, Ciao, L (Veteran)

You know, I think the mostly "queenly" thing about her was that she didn't know what a queen she was. At least when she was young. Later, she couldn't help but know, but it didn't change her.
I got her autograph and Jimmie Dodd’s at may co years ago .... I was about 8 years old... but someone stole it from me later but they couldn’t take away the fact that I got to see them in person. Very memorable

I remember this actress. She was on The Mouse Factory talking about Mickey. But you can hear her on the main title in the movie The Parent Trap. But she's in Babes in Toyland, The Misadventures of Merlin Jones and The Monkey's Uncle. On The Mouse Factory, she talked about penguins.
