- Here is some storage ideas for people that own the five seat Honda pioneer 1000.
Here’s the door, I bought used on amazon for cheaper.

A flag of duct tape on the thin pull handle makes it easier to pull vertical cans. Like tape magazine pulls, just on your cans.
Great ideas Joey, Honda definitely missed the boat on thoughtful storage on the pioneer. They need to hire you for R&D putting the 1000 through its paces & creating a more useful UTV 👍

Just bought a 2020 Pioneer 1000-5 this weekend and I am new member on the sxs forum, which is what brought me here. I love the ideas I"m seeing so far and thanks for the videos. I want to be able to carry a jack and tire iron, as well as the plug kit and compressor. I'm new to off road and the sxs world, so i want to be 'prepared' . I'll be posting more on the forum in the near future. Thanks again!

Just got the door for the under seat storage. Only question I have is what did you do at the bottom of the door where the 2 small gaps are created by the recessed section on the wall?
Pretty sure I just left them open. I did Nothing special. I can check again later if you want me to. I don’t notice the cut marks or the gaps and neither does anyone else.

Do you think cutting a whole in your box sides effects the integrity and strength of the box and it's hauling capabilities?
Gabe not at do I think it weakens it. These are not only bed sides but they are also the doors for the rear passengers. They are very rigid and dozens of guys I ride with haven’t had any issues.
One guy stuffed 6 qts of oil, two tire spoons and a battery powered impact wrench in one door.
I tried the link for the buttons used on the side panel adapted for storage but it shows as “not found” please send me a new link so I can order the needed parts. Thank you.
Search tanskyshop.com for “hood latch”. They’ve got several different colors and sizes available. I used the larger diameter in some places in the smaller diameter and other places

Hey Joe. Should I order the 1” or 1.25 hood latch pins. I looked through the whole thread but didn’t see anything talking about which latch pins to order specifically.
I used the larger diameter for the bigger holes on the side panels. I’m not close to my pioneer or I would tell you how many of each.
Joey, love the storage ideas! Could you please tell me what tire/wheels you are running and any suspension mods you have done? This Pioneer has the best stance I have seen!
Thank you for the comments. I was running CATVOS front A-arms and super ATV rear A-arms. Elka stage 3 shocks. Stock axles. 32” Terrabites on 14” STI HD wheels. It has completely changed recently and there will be vids coming soon.

Just came across your video and definitely want to look in to doing this BUT the links aren't available anymore so was wondering if you had the specifics one the hardware.
Looks like you used 25mm o.d. but not sure on the length the only two options at 100mm L or 54mm L
54 is fine. If you want to be safe you can get the longer ones and you can always cut them off on the inside.

The door frame had to be cut on the bottom just a bit to fit.
What kind of fan you have facing the driver’s seat? Been looking at just some cheap fans on amazon for when we’re stopped to keep the air moving

Do you have a step by step UA-cam video for the side panel door storage install? The SXS forum is a little hard to follow for me.
No I don’t. But it’s really simple and once you get started everything will come together easy
joeymt3 Would you happen to have a recommended parts list for prep so everything is on hand when I start? The parts on the Honda SXS site is convoluted as not all in one chain. What size and specific piano hinge do you recommend and is it rust proof? The hood pins that you recommended: what length and thread should they be? Seems like the hood pins are quite long on that Tansy website you recommended and did those threads match up to the existing threads? Why did you use rivets instead of screws to hold the piano hinge? What did you do with the bottom screw holes on the side panels where you have the hinge? Are they just empty with no screws in them anymore?
Steven Ballard I think I bought 3 feet of aluminum hinge and cut it to the length I needed. I used rivets with washers on the back so it would not pull through the plastic
Steven Ballard Hood pins that I showed do fit the threads and you can cut off the extra or not it doesn’t matter

joeymt3 I believe I did sign up at Honda SXS. I could not find the information on the door, but that could just be me. I have even been searching on Amazon, to no avail. I only recently picked up a 2017 1000-5 and am trying to prepare it for family rides. I will look again for the information, if I can figure out were the video description is.

You can swap the whole bed which will give you the rear doors and seats. You can do the storage door under the driver seat compartment
Love the storage idea! Can you do a video on how you made your mud guards?
biggerdog12 i could but it’s just some conveyor belt that I started cutting up and making it how ever I wanted. Not perfect and it’s ugly but works great.
