Was at a dealership earlier today looking at a ‘24 Ninja 650 , and I was explaining the crazy story behind how I lost my last one. The guy straight up looks at me and laughs and says he was put in handcuffs less than a week ago for riding what was believed to be a stolen bike, no plates, no license, no insurance, with an unregistered firearm, and speeding. Like bro… you need to spend a single day and just go to the DMV already. Yikes.
depends where you live... I bought a bike in a place that doesn't have bike temp tags, and the license plate place was backed up. I drove without a plate for 2 months. It was new looking bike so the cops assumed and never pulled me over, even had some behind be a few times to clearly see no tags. I did carry my bill of sale and everything to prove it was mine and registration had been requested... just in case.

Ya'll have got to stop blaming drivers! Especially when you're lane filtering, lane splitting. Drivers are looking for other drivers in traffic, not lane splitters!😢 I stay out of traffic, even if it means the long way around. Besides, better scenery.
This!! When lane splitting, always take on all the responsibility for yourself and assume that no one sees you because drivers aren't looking *between* the lanes. And slow down!
Rant Time 😁! 0:49 - not one single license plate! 2:47 JaySanz- You're a dangerous rider! Slow down when filtering like that BigJimBob - Never stop directly behind a vehicle like that. To be fair to BigJimBob, he looks in a decent position; to the right of the lane with enough of a gap to the back of the vehicle in front that he should be visible in the vehicles mirrors. I don't like to position too far to one side as I feel it encourages cars to poke their nose up along side me. To me this is an example of someone not paying attention and the biker being saved by sensible positioning. All the others I 100% agree with you.
This was in Brazil, they already knew that their friend was arriving, so they had a good reflex to dodge, as they were already expecting him. But unfortunately he came too fast for that curve and his friends parked too close to the curve. At the end of it all, he was willing to pay for the three bikes.
For the record… In the whole video… they pulled over on the apex of the turn to assist another rider that has already gone down… They put their bikes up there as a barrier in case some Jack ass came roaring in while they were providing medical assistance already.
Ah another speeding "you nearly killed me" bro 5:07 . Not saying the car driver was in the right but he's not blameless either. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.
The rider did nothing wrong; she simply emerged unexpectedly without regard for others' safety. His reaction may have been somewhat aggressive, but it was justified considering the situation could have been quite serious.
@@Hucyfer He was riding like an idiot. He passed the old lady at speed-in her lane, with oncoming traffic!-just before the speed limit transitioned from 60 mph to 40 mph. He probably freaked out the old lady. He was still going fast when he went past the 40 mph sign. If he had been riding more conservatively, he would have been better able to deal with the bad driver who did the illegal u-turn.
How do you end up with the toe of your flinsy shoe in someone's rear sprocket? Seems like a whole 'nother level of stupidity (including riding apparel).
Why do some of Ya'll rev the throttle instead of hitting the horn to warn drivers. Drivers hear horns, loud horns, not revving motorcycles! Invest in a Good Loud horn😅
Most modern cars are extremely well insulated against noise. A fire truck alarm, legally mandated to emit 124 decibels, will not raise the interior of a car even 10 decibels from 50 feet away ie will not be heard over a radio. Your car horn and your reving motorcycle engine is less than that even at point-blank range. The conclusion of the study (of trying to figure out why fire truck engines kept getting into wrecks at intersections) was that fire trucks should probably stop at every intersection. I personally haven't used the horns of any of my vehicles since 1993...except to scare family members when they're passing by the hood. I have, however, made sure my last three bikes have ABS so I can brake as hard as I can in any weather condition instead of bothering with something as silly as honking and THEN avoiding.
@ 3:32 looks to me like the bike started to the cars left lane cut across 2 lanes last minute and tried to slip it up the inside, would be a big ask for an attentive driver to spot that quick enough and assuming they're attentive is pretty dumb.
Yep, you "come up" on vehicles much faster and a driver is simply not expecting it. If they start their turn after just looking (but you are exiting a corner at 40) you are going to be right on top of them very quickly... It's not their fault, just slow it down in busy areas. When I was young and sped all over the place in my car the same thing would happen, I'd always find myself getting "cut off" and it's because I was the problem. It's easy to do because bikes are so maneuverable and zippy, but you have to keep in mind no one drives like that, so you are putting yourself at higher risk...
So I have a piece of advice for US riders who might be new or not had tuition on lane-splitting; filtering as it's known here in the UK where it is legal: If traffic is doing more than 30mph, DO NOT FILTER/LANE-SPLIT. It's just not safe to do. For us it's considered that at 30mph+ traffic is moving fast enough that filtering is not necessary and can get you pulled over if the police see you. If traffic is moving slow or stopped, then you should filter at no more than 15-20mph, because any faster and you do not have time to react safely, and you're reliant on the driver to spot/avoid you to avoid an incident, which drivers are just not trained for. Chill out, take it slow and enjoy the fact you're making consistent progress while cars are all stop-start or just stopped.
What if every one driving a car or truck drove like these people on motorcycles. Speeding, switching lanes randomly, lane filtering down the shoulder or middle of vehicles.
I can understand why. It's Indiana BBQ. Indiana isn't exactly know for it's BBQ. In fact, other than being known for terrible drivers Indiana is kinda just there.

"Lane splitting" is not just gunning it through the gap between cars. You have to keep collecting info. Make eye contact with drivers in their mirrors. Check front tire directions, observe ahead for potential hazards that could pop up from between vehicles, check for road surface hazards, plan ahead for jams and other situations, check for brake lights/blinkers and understand the reason behind them, communicate your intention using your horn and flash lights, ALL AT THE SAME TIME. Can't process that much information at once? You're either too fast or you lack the skills necessary for riding safely. You simply live on until you don't. 50-50 chance. I don't like your odds, do better!
2:53 the law states that riders who are lane splitting MUST YIELD to any and all other traffic that is making a legal lane change. JAYSANZS you might want to consider slowing down when ane splitting it is also to be done at no more than 10 miles an hour faster than traffic around you
