    Have been using this for 12 years, and I transplant about 20000 plants per year. Couldnt live without it.

    I purchased one of these tools this spring, 2015. We just used the first time transplanting broccoli, which plants are not nearly as large as the peppers in this video, the trans-planter works flawlessly!!!!
    I will likely purchase another for next planting season.
    If you are considering the purchase, consider no longer. Buy it!!! Best 100 bucks you'll ever spend.

    A close up of the planted seedling would be good does the device pack soil securely around it ? Or do you wait for watering rainfall to wash soil into the holes ? Nice vid thanks.

    I love mine just wish there was a longer version, if it was about 10 inches longer it would be a lot more comfortable to use

      here's a thought. cut the unit in half, add a section of pipe and the same fo the trigger rod.

      +buddruffin I am 6'4 was the 6" enough to make it a more 'upright' job ?

    I didn't take the time to read all the comments. My question is. When you plant it is the root system completely covered after you pull it out.

  • @Naturelover00023
    @Naturelover00023 8 років тому +1

    That is a pretty good tool.
    do you have to put in soil after the plant goes in or is it done by the tool?

    • @franalope100
      @franalope100  8 років тому

      Usually enough dirt falls in around the roots to complete planting. At most you may have to kick some dirt around plant with your toe.

    These have been around since the 30s even had one where you could add water weight about 6 lbs.

  • @franalope100
    @franalope100  12 років тому

    It weighs 6 1/2 lbs. It's a little heavy but it has a heavy duty job to do and is built to last. Thank you for your interest.

    If you view the "Hatfield Transplanter video" the interesting invention there is the home made tray with guitar strap for holding the transplants while hand transplanting. Personally I use the Rain-Flo water wheel transplanter. For direct seeding through plastic I use a polyplanter made by Ferris industries.

    better if it weighs a little. less hard to put it into the soil. very nice tool, reaaly.
    there are always the great simple ideas that change the way to work.
    this is one of them.
    I'd like very much to try it, very much; but I feel it will be hard to find it near me.

    Are those 2x2 plugs ? What is the diameter of that tube?

    • @franalope100
      @franalope100  8 років тому

      +rbbiefah Tube is 2 3/4 inches

    • @rbbiefah
      @rbbiefah 8 років тому

      thanks . A 2x2 plug is 2.83" diagonally but it should slide down because its tapered . However for early tomatoes 2.5 x 2.5 is plug is recommended which would have a diagonal of 3 1/2 " . I looks like the plugs he is dropping are root bound and would grow stunted . But this might be useful if you plant your 2x2 plugs before they get root bound

    • @Redandranger
      @Redandranger 8 років тому +3

      +rbbiefah Can't really tell but those look more like peppers than tomatoes to me. How you can tell if they're root bound is beyond me.
