Thank you sooo much for sharing all of this! I've been panicking about not having experience in the legal field before applying to law school so this was definitely super helpful and reassuring :) thank you again and congrats on your amazing accomplishments!!
I've been watching almost all your videos and you are throwing so many gems that I hope others will pick up on them!! (JD c'2000 - Iowa Law here) In your law school series, you had mentioned in one of your copyrights courses that your experience as a cheerleader from high school through college gave you a great advantage in discussing one of your copyright cases. It was dealing with the cheerleader's uniform. I cannot recall specifics of the case or the legal issue but you said something that really stood out. Your professor was at first surprised that you were a cheerleader then they really listened to what you had to say from your personal experience. You said that your teacher said that they never saw the situation from that perspective This is proof of the value of having students athletes in different graduate programs !! You bring much to the table. I wasn't a student athlete but I know the value of your focus and discipline. My Dad was a student athlete and his photo is my avatar. That is him in 1958 when he scored the winning basketball point between Loyola vs Kentucky. Kentucky lost. Xox Are you still getting your MA in Bioethics? You had mentioned that in one of your videos. Don't discount legal academia especially possibly teaching in tax or copyrights. You would make an incredible professor xxo
This comment means so much to me! Thank you for every word. Legal academia is definitely still on the table, and I love getting words of encouragement like this. I'm unfortunately not pursuing my MA in Bioethics anymore :( my transfer messed that plan up, haha. I'm still interested in the field and am taking some law/biosciences courses though! So who knows where that will take me. Again, thank you for your support
@@zoelolaaa of course no problem!!! I know you’ll do excellent throughout all 3 years!! Congrats beautiful. Keep making videos too. I love your transparency
Okay so throughout undergrad I thought I wanted to go into International Law so a lot of my "softs" align with that. However, recently I've found myself more interested in Business Law. When I'm applying should I just apply as if I still want to go into International Law? or be honest and say I want to pursue Business law even though my experience doesn't match it?
That's a really good question! To be honest if it were me, I'd probably go the international law route if that were easier for me to write about. Remember that whatever you say you want to do when you apply is not binding at all! Your main goal is just getting in at this point. I'm also interested in Entertainment Law but since I couldn't really say anything compelling about it in my app, it wasn't in there.
if you put your research in the resume, will the schools u are applying to ask for it? I did a thesis on international law in my undergrad and passed but I’m really not proud of it tbh. I also know it might affect my application negatively if I provided it in my application.
