@@jaydee6268 It's understandable. He has this really funny ironic sense of humor and makes good points. He also endeared a lot of people openly discussing his troubles with his divorce and family. But early on there were red flags. Maybe his wife left him, and Google fired him, and was accused of bad business practices because he is a selfish opportunist. The lesson to be learned people are mix of good and bad and some people have knack promoting their good side and hiding their bad. We truly don't know what people are really like or their intentions.

One could argue they are biased but at least they have a lot of credibility since both lived multiple years in china. The main issue regarding hospitality (as far as i can tell) is the goverment promoting a xenophobic view on the "outside" world. This of course heavily influences people in China but it does not at all mean that everyone in China believes what is being told by state media or chinese citizens not being hospitable.

As a coder and then engineering manager for over a decade .. this “tech lead” guy always seemed sketchy. He definitely knows stuff, but nothing more than most experienced tech workers. But he’s clearly the type who’s trying to make money off UA-cam algorithm and then the crypto stuff really shows who he is.

I recently got my bachelor's in Computer Engineering (though I knew of TechLead before that), and he's the type of guy that uses the little bit of specialized knowledge that he has to lord over others, even though what he knows is little more than someone who works a helpdesk. To his viewers he probably seems smart, but if he were working anywhere in the industry, he'd be the guy everyone laughs at. Nobody would ever want to work with someone so egotistical and arrogant.
