Nils is one of the best out there right now. Astral Doors is great, but Wuthering Heights are absolutely top shelf...due largely to the lyrics and poetic philosophy.
Absolutely love them.. When that very riff kicked in on the first song after the acoustic intro I was into it very powerful for a very powerful subject matter.
Astralism is such a great album. I'm otherwise not the biggest fan of Astral Doors, but Astralism is exceptional. Every song is good and the album has pretty much only good songs. It also has the best production and I think NPJs vocals work the best on Astralism. So I completly agree with Michael that Astralism is their absolute peak. While I don't like the 3rd track much from a music point of view. The video was very cool, so that's a neat pick. I personally think New Revelation and Time to Rock are the best songs which are not from Astralism.

His voice is similar to Dio. I am surprised no one react their songs. They have incredible songs. But the way, they sound melodic heavy metal, not power metal for me.

I own 1 Astral Doors album, Requiem of Time. Very good traditional/power metal. I should pick up more of their albums some day :)
