Sounds like you learned something on that hill Jordan... Let the bike do the work .. find your balance point and it will do what it is engineered to do .. even on bigger hills ... Stay safe and continue to push your boundaries..

Yea, being able to pick your bike up is a big deal if you plan to ride trails alone. On a street bike, someone will eventually drive by that can help. That might take days in the woods.

The drz 650 and 400 are amazing bikes. Been around forever. Power is about the same. 650 is air cooled while the 400 is water cooled. Tons of aftermarket for both

Hello Jordan, I am just catching up with some of your videos. You are more than welcome, and I am glad you finally took it out that day. Maybe we can get them together someday out in South Dakota or on BDR someday. It really is a swiss army knife bike and it really can do almost anything. It is factory-lowered since I am vertically challenged as well.

That’s the type of bike I’d like to get some day for the same reasons. I rode small dirt bikes before I ever rode a street bike and would like to go off road again sometime. Have fun!

FYI: The DR650 only weighs about 360# wet (before you swap in a larger Acerbis tank), which is about 80# less than Jess's Himalayan. I think you might have found "the bike".... as long as you're ok with a 34" - 35" seat height.

Thanks for the video, Jordan. It was so good to meet you at ADV Fest. Do you happen to remember the name of the ADV bike rental company that was at the end of row that Triumph, Aprillia, MOTO GUZZI, was on? They had a couple of Himalayans, a T7 and a couple other motorcycles for rent.

Glad I found this clip. I'll be heading out this July 2024 for the Get On ADV-Fest in Sturgis.

I traded my brand new 2022 KLR650, and bought a 2016 Roadster I could not be happier. At 63 my off road days are over, just needed something for the dirt roads the Roadster is fine.

I am not a bike rider but really enjoy your videos. You present information that would help anyone looking for a new motorcycle, specifically for their needs. You have a great sense of humor, sometimes very dry (which I love). Thank you for being you and keep up the great job. 🏍️👍🕶️🤓

Great vid bud, please do not sell yourself short. You are doing a great job, and taking us all along on your life of discovery as far as biking is concerned. I have been riding bikes legally on the road for 53 years, and off road for a few years longer. My advice for dirt bikes is stay light. A 250 cc 2 stroke such as a Suzuki RM250 was a flying machine even back in the early seventies. Please try a light dirt bike and make a video about your experience.

  • @YankiRides

Starting off with a fucking vibe my dude. Great hanging with you guys!

I'm a big fan of your videos and as far as I'm concerned they are never too long. Keep up the great work and I hope your subscriber numbers continue to grow. You deserve it.

I watched the whole video. Good stuff, really enjoyed it. Awesome that you got to test ride a bike from a subscriber, good way for you to figure out the best bike for you.

  • @KeViNMCMXXCIX

You completing that hill climb with the loose stuff was definitely a great boost of needed confidence and a growth of skillset. Well done! Happy for you got to ride some bikes to test out, these events are great for it. I don't think we have something like that over here in The Netherlands.

A DR650 with a lectron carb to avoid jetting when you change altitude, and a better exhaust, and a acerbis fuel tank and handguards would be a great bike.

  • @Mayjay87

I started on a 92 DR350. The DRZ400 and DR650 are pretty great! Great video Jordan.
