    Great video, I know you once did a video with the OJ Tahoma. What would happen if you used real wood instead of charcoal?

      I have used a mix and it worked ok. I feel like the temperature fluctuated a bit more. The directions say to only start it with briquettes and then do what you like. I might try some pre-lit chunks of wood, not lump. It starts like a lump but still has unburned wood in the middle. I add these pieces to my electric smoker for charcoal flavor.

      @@pioneersmokehouseschannel well, the reason I ask is because it's basically a rocketstove with a cookingchamber on top. That's why I wonder if it were possible to light a small fire using narrow splits and put more splits behind so you basically have a fire that keeps itself going. Call it a real wood alternative to a set it and almost forget it pellet smoker.
