From my point of view, if the brushes are good enough, the drawing will be smooth, faster and easier, because if you draw with a regular brush, it will be more difficult to draw with it. She tries again and again to draw. To give a beautiful result, but because of the texture of the brush, it looks like a flat, 2D, or semi-realistic drawing, not realistic or portrait. But now there is a special brush for each type of drawing. For example, there are brushes for hair, baby hair, freckles, eyelashes, pores and airbrushes. The importance of professional portrait painting brushes may vary from person to person. Simply using custom brushes doesn't necessarily result in a more realistic drawing. The act of dividing layers helps draw more accurately. There isn't necessarily a big reason to merge, but in my case, when there are too many layers, it becomes messy and hard to see, so I merge them into one. And the tutorial is ready because it takes a very long time to make a video.
