Lyrics:
yo I write rhymes for beemers, rovers, overachievers
drug kingpins who pick up more than one ki up
inmates in every state, live heavyweights
who had they own estate like scarface with large gates
five-star luxury cars in your garage
niggaz who live and die to get large and get power
yo I write like a scholar in Asia praisin Allah
amazing how a rhyme could make alot of dollars
I seen feens devour white powders sniffed in bills
and get mad if a portion of a gram get spilled
for real I analyze like the livest soldier
yo my rhymes are designed like the finest scultpture
so exotic, the LS Lex, neck brolic
wherever snakes dwell death follows
the best knowledge is respect power
and never test ours
cause live niggaz lay, stiffer than dead flowers
I represent excellence, my minds an eye
my third eye an extra clip yet to flip
so never question this
poetry I'm manifesting this
graffiti filled testament
[Mega talking]
yeah you know, this is like uncut raw dope you know?
bag this up, ship this to every hood
nawmsayin' son?
you pump this on your block
this is what I stand for, my clientele you know
then after that we have a major distribution of this, werd
[Verse 2]
yo I need stacks of green, either rap or crack to feens
its mad trife I seen indictments trap my team
life is felonies, fear and jealousy then death finally appears
save your tears
when I rhyme niggaz be wildin'
enemies silent
my mic temperature is like a caribbean island
consider me, living energy
my poetry, so complex whatever I bless you know its me
I hear the anguish, vulgar truth, forbidden language
if I'm getting two D's peak, and I'll explain shit
yo, I knew a few who never showed true love
I'm condemned due to my association with thugs
the streets raised me, made me, the weak praised me
indeed it was written you will one day betray me
listen, as my money starts to escalade I estimate
fake thugs forbidden, written in my testament
[Mega talking]
yea, don't even question it
it's real right now, nawmsayin'?
we gonna establish our own commission
have our own business
the east the west
the money green on your side the money green on my side
let's get it, let's get it together
younawmean?
my testament, it's what I stand for
you either with me or you against me

Super facts!!!!!

Notice how Mega vocals on this track sounds like one of the instruments. Especially at 2:31. Incredible song.

This is the version I heard on mega bootleg back in high school
Yeah that extra disc came with DMX first album
This song sends chills through me 💯💯💯
This jam was on a def jam sampler and wanted this album but it got shelved

Facts
My favorite Mega joint
yo this and montana diary got played so much my speakers blew out..
yeah, this song came out way before the second version, at least two years or such, so yeah, he made some changes to it. But still one of my top 25 rap songs of ALL time, and that's a hard list to make.
I remember dubbing this song onto mixtapes and selling them to kids at school back in high school.
heat...
love this beat..and lyrics over it = dope
we need some new tracks mega
Cormega is a real one !!i personally think testament is cormegas best album in terms of rhymes beats and just the overall persona of the album,i see the growth from this album to his most recent, there is soo much philosophy and quotes in cormegas lyrics which got me through the toughest of times and still to this day ,
Mega top 5 ,
Catch Wreck : You done know 💯

Yeah, this is a bad azz tune.
Takes me back to high school iam 42 now
Nice!
good shit
what song is the vocal sampled from in the hook?
Mega is a hip hop mastermind, ill track
i agree
“Indeed it was written you will one day betray me” is that a nas diss?
No, this album was done before the realness and then he shelved it to work on the realness to spite def jam, so it predates that stuff
I’m from Queens and was 15 in 96 when this dropped….that ABSOLUTELY was a diss to Nas
@@nelo914 🙏
shit never gets old mega a fukin beast QB where they put lyrics in the water
Classic shit
😘
The other version is 100x better. I wasn't feeling the verse on this like that.
The updated beat is better also. But I like this beat to.
Streets poet
Damn, you're right! I've just read it on Wikipedia. :P
@MusicHardcorePoet word up
Ha ha yah
Why does cormega get so little recognition. He was an animal. Was it because of that Nas need?
lyrics: its - my minds a nine, not eye
the illest beat he cant really handle it though
Hahaha, to an extent man. He kills it, but he struggles a little to really keep up. His style is broken and witty shit though, wouldn't doubt this was tweaked by the producer/dj/engineer and he fucked up the timing a little. This still remains an absolute classic though, no question, as soon as it comes on I lose my shit and feel the need to contemplate doing shady ass shit I used to in my youth lol. Mega got dissed for Nature and Nature got left by the wayside too. Shame man, two Queens legends who got used, abused and tossed in the trash by record labels and ruthless hanger's on.
@@chrismelisse1284That's why the newer version is properly on beat. This was more on the person mixing it who messed it up.
Oh, I didn't know this one. :P Anyway, I'm not a pro at religion. However, I do know a lil' bit as you can see... :)
When the beat drops around 0:40 fucking bad ass af
As far as I know, many African Americans have converted to Islam. I don't know the exact reasons for that (probably racial tolerance and equality in general) but take many oldschool rappers (Ice Cube, Tung Twista, Rakim, Pete Rock & CL Smooth and others - I can't recall more right now, sorry) or such figures as Malcolm X Muhammad Ali, etc, etc. Believe me, though: the list IS long.
kocior1987 what's your point tho
So exotic ; the LS Lex , neck brolic
If mega and nas squashed that beef earlier the firm and everything nas touched would be that much better. Their styles are similar with mega having better beats and nas better lyrics by the smallest fraction
we need some new tracks mega
