- 'Lady Be Good' (Gershwin) made famous by Lester Young (not to mention the classic solo by Charlie Parker at the Jazz at the Philharmonic, and a host of other versions).
Performed with my good friend, and one of my most important teachers Paul Dyne on Double Bass. Paul has played with some of the most legendary names in jazz, including Sonny Stitt, Michael Brecker, and Lee Konitz. It's a great honour each and every time I get to play music with him.
It's a fun tune to play, with relatively simple changes, and takes a bluesy treatment well.
FUN FACT: The artwork hanging above Paul is by his son Julien Dyne. who is an incredible drummer in his own right.

Sounds great Aleister you have such an authentic tone, you are very lucky to have a double bass to jam with looks like fun👍💥💥💥💥💥
Thanks a bunch. And yeah, jamming with Paul or any great bass player is amazing.
Fantastic, just love this format but now that I saw this give us more please.
Thanks for the kind words. We'll see what we can cook up!
What a pleasure to see Mr PD in action. He was one of my tutors many years ago at Wellington jazz school and was a really great human as well as awesome musician :) When he plays, he sounds like a whole rhythm section!
That great! What years were you at the jazz school? I was there 98-2000. I've definitely learned a lot from PD over the years myself. About music and life...
Great job guys! A great standard I love to hear.
