@@TooeaziI honestly feel like that’s why they sent some guys away, they didn’t know how to get them to improve, and I remember someone saying it’s cause NY has a shitton of pressure and I kinda have to agree those guys get the weight of the world put on em compared to other clubhouses, I imagine they still wanna come back tho, shit is like a drug
Gerri Cole, Mclanahan, and Ohtani have got nothing on this guy. Dude leads the league in pitcher war, ERA+ FIP and hasn’t surrendered a single homerun across 10 different starts.
Gray has a cutter at about 88 this year, a slider at about 83, and his curve is 79. Last year he was basically throwing 2 kinds of slider, this year its a cutter and a slider.
His ERA is more so from facing mostly mediocre opponents, besides the Yankees. He's been throwing well, he's got good mechanics, and he's been around the league. No reason he would "break down". He won't stay under a 1 ERA all year lmao, he'll regress to the mean.
@Matt Olson Fair enough. I've watched almost every game and forgot about those. No matter, I'm jacked about the Twins having a solid rotation. Even with the injuries we've got solid pitchers in the hopper. This might finally be the year for a run.
I'm convinced that Pena is the only one who actually prepares for breakdowns
beautiful breakdown
He has one of the best cutters this yr. I also love using him in the show 🤣
Unbelievable observed pitch movement. As a hitter you essentially have no idea where the pitch is going once it’s in the tunnel.
Another great fold by the Yankees
Nah gray couldn't done with the Yankees just like Joey Gallo some guys can't play in NY
@@TuriSanchez3 I Agree.
It also can be said, the Yanks aren't improving their players and when they leave they get better which is not a good sign.
@@TuriSanchez3 and meanwhile gray is the mlb leader in era, and gallo is hitting bombs.

the Yankees ruined his mechanics and destroyed his confidence
He was great on the Reds, too
Sonny Gray understands that as you age if you try to fireball everything you're arm will fall apart...no one told Jacob deGrom this?
Why’d you cut the video?

if he can repeat his career averages for another 5 more years he could be a hall of famer, or at least close to one
He’s had half of Corey kluber’s career and even he won’t get into the hall. Put down the pipe
Sweeper
What is this random rambling without coherency for the viewer... Ended with a random cut mid sentence?!?
Real pro looking stuff..
this just made it even more confusing.
Dude was only 25 when he was with the Yankees. Good 4 him
Nice gyro slider “cutter”… we really need a name for this pitch or just call it a slider. And your other slider a sweeper/slurve.
Stop it.

His body is going to break down as he approaches 100 innings, he’s going to come down crashing back down to earth
Think again when he wins cy young

An opinion with nothing substantial behind it, thanks John.
@@nickender7094 He’s faced the Astros and Red Sox as well. Those aren’t mediocre opponents. The Red Sox have scored the 2nd most runs in the league

Trying to do what Greg Maddux did for the last 10 years of his career.
I thought about Maddox watching sonny on Sunday. That changeup/cutter development for both sides of the plate..he's getting that accuracy too
That man has pitched 50 innings thus far and has yet to give up a single home run 🤯
