This Is Why The Finals Isn't THAT Popular

- This is why I think this delicious video game isn't as popular as it should be and I also give a potentially good resolution.
I stream a few times a week during the evening EST hours: twitch.tv/branardd
I'd argue that power shift should be that casual/simple game mode, its essentially KOTH but the hill just moves.
It's koth+payload+tdm
I would agree with that, but from what i saw, new players just don’t like the “payload” style, my friends just said it was too monotonous and repetitive, but again, i just talked with like… 5 people about it.
Soooo, it's push from overwatch
@@thestig025 yes but better
Completely agree, I’ve convinced many friends to both return to, and try the finals for the first time and we’ve all had a blast. It’s a simple mode and very fun
thats crazy this is the best current FPS available, haven’t loved a FPS this much since MW2/BO1 & BC2/BF3
Fr
The game is just too fast and chaotic for many people
Fr bro I’ve been looking for a br, all the others just seem so sh it in comparison, Fortnite was good but it’s ass now so fuck that
I agree
@@FrancisCharlesworth-q3zplay the finals
This is not popular because they are not marketing it. They are fixing it first making it solid and then probably will market it.
True, devs are COOKING
Cope lol y’all said the same thing before season 2 came out😂
I heard a guy say they're marketing it on billboards which is clearly the wrong audience to market it to. So idk what they doing, but they need to start sponsoring more youtubers and streamers.
@@Klemen1x wtf billboards that's hella expensive and won't even get that much recognition
they are ive seen ads on youtube
The finals needs a king of the hill mode, hold the point and gain money over time, the point would change location every minute and a half or so with each one having more money to possibly capture, the game would start out with multiple points before changing to a single one towards the end of the round, it would only start capturing once a team touches it, if multiple teams are on the point no money gets captured, killing members from the team that holds the point would grant more money than killing ones that dont, respawn timers and team kills wouldn't be as harsh
Yeah that would be pretty fun. I like what they did with 5v5 powershift but if they had a solid point to defend like king of the kill or control the point that would be very fun as well.
That’s a really good idea!
Yeah perfect sniper target😩unless it’s a smaller perimeter
So hardpoint
@@StinkyMick99 congratz you realize HP and KOTH. it is basically the same game mode
How the hell is cashout complicated? Unlock box, put it in yellow rectangle, 2 mins tiner starts, control yellow rectangle when the timer reaches zero. Other teams can touch rectangle to steal it but 2 mins timer won't reset. The end.
low minded people coming from battle royales and hard points don’t get it
the complicated part is the teamplay
These people want something so overly simplified like deathmatch= kill, battle royale= survive, payload= push, bomb= plant or defuse. Tiktok brainrot got to them😔
You'll be surprised 😢
@@NETIERRASteammates who act like it’s a another cod clone running around ignoring teammates and dying again and again is my biggest problem with cash out. Literally get the most clueless teammates sometimes and all I can think is, “must be a child or a low IQ Timmy no-thumbs BR player. “
I’m addicted to the finals . I love everything about it and I find myself thinking about it when I’m not playing it . I genuinely can’t remember the last time that happened with an FPS .
hell yea mike butcher
Good job Mike just don’t forget to go to work / put food on the table for the kids 🙏
@@daneharshman8275fuck them kids!- lil yachty
I think the biggest reason is more a lack of publicity, in today's game scene, each massive game that comes out, starts with a massive add campaign that keeps the game in the mind of the masses, streamers, UA-cam adds, events, the finals lacks all of that, embark hasn't really done anything significant other than the trailers for the seasons
well they also announced the release on stage at the game awards but that's about it
Well word of mouth seems to be working decently
They said they would start marketing with season 2, but I haven’t seen it yet
fps competitors:
- Valorant are huge for cosplay market + character agent lores + kids loves gun skins!
- CS are huge for the nostalgic players
- Fortnite huge for colabs
- CoD huge for nostalgic + cosplay + story of a known soldier in game
The market variables of this game is... idk
- If you search the web "The Finals", you'll get NBA Finals
- Characters looks generic, not very good for cosplay market
- No story (there may be, but not memorable to most audience)
- colabs are possible ✔✔
- good game mechanics ✔✔
- uh, I can't remember the name of the maps i played
I think a 5v5v5 (or 4v...) team deathmatch with quick respawn would be perfect for the finals, even if it isn't that well balanced. It's a good enough introduction to playing the game and the mechanics, it gives flexibility for people to do dumb shit that they find fun, and it doesn't punish people too hard with long respawn times like the other game modes.
Bro that’s rubbish! Please if that’s what you want, don’t play the finals, go play overwatch or some lame shit ..The idea of 3v3v3 keeps the maps less rowdy, and when one of my teammates die, I Have no option but to go rez him or her not 5v5vwhatever where 1 teammate die and I’ll be like fuvk it I got 3 more..and we have to deal with 10 people to get a teamwipe
@@Watchur6ix well he got a good point to attract new players, because the devs already satisfied the veterans of this game. Ngl when I was a new player my winrate on casual is fkn bad 8wins : 40 losses first 16 hours in the game because the game is more complex than any other fps game that I played but after that I keep playing for the objective then my winrate increase, sadly not every player would have patience to have a negative winrate and get steamrolled on every match so they just go back to other fps games
LOL there is a death match mode its called Bank it, its like DM with confirmed kill for the CoD slaves
@@Watchur6ix and this attitude is why your game is dying
I feel like a domination type game mode would go crazy in the finals, you still have objectives to focus on but it’s enough mindless fun that casuals can get hooked
that's literally cashout no? theres two points and you try to steal them?
Hell even hard point style mode so that more of the map gets used and explored.
@@Rocketgamess I mean more so like a call of duty style domination where you get points as you hold the point, not at the very end
Capture the flag gamemode would go so hard in the finals
yes and for the spin make it so you gotta defend the flag you captured for 3 and a half mins from the other team
Hear me out don’t know if it’s been said in here already but capture the flag I think would fit the finals very well, it has team base strategy as well the the free form sandbox needed for new players to learn the basics
Ctf would be a great mode, with a specific symmetric map
Nooooo LEARN SOMETHING NEW IN YOUR LIFE, CAPTURE THE FLAG WAS INTRODUCED TO YOU AT SOME POINT IN YOUR LIFE, ARENT YOU TIRED WTF!!!! Go play cod or valorant
@@Watchur6ix we are just arguing that the game would fit well with a ctf mode, that's all .... Don't worry about our game variety, that's ok
@@andrearaschini7305 variety is the spice of life without it would anything be worth doing
I'm thinking cashbox as the flag and what team protects it the longest wins. I always found chasing other teams box as fun.
I think bank it was somewhat an attempt to bring this simple gamemode in the game but honestly it was just as confusing. it needs to be a 1 step gamemode. 5v5 is great but is probably too chaotic for new players to understand what is happening. maybe something along the lines of a simple 3v3(v3?) like bank it but without the need to deposit your money or all the different cash spawns around the map. it would just need a way to entice players to go towards the same part of the map that isn't 1 to 2 extra steps long or confusing.
exactly what you said. not too sure what a good and simple game mode could be in this game, but if the devs consider adding a new game mode, hopefully they make it simple enough lol
I feel that bank it is exactly the game mode that you describe it needs. You get cash by stealing vaults and killing enemies, then deposit them until you reach $40k. Pretty straightforward, fun, and simple.
infested with inivs stun gun lights. I get your point, but I belive that bank it can drive away new players pretty fast...
I tried the game for the first time last weekend and put a dozen hours into it. I almost exclusively played Power Shift. Honestly, I love the game and how it feels, but if the Power Shift mode wasn't in, I probably would have put it down after a couple of games.
yeah i love power shift weird hearing this guy say it's awful
Cos your IQ can’t handle it I get it! I hate power shift, too easy
honestly, my whole problem with the finals (and a lot of new shooters) is because i don't like mag dumping a person just to not even kill them, i love this game i really do, its my dream super chaotic shooter but it just makes me want to not play it sometimes
I said from the first beta the finals is just trying to do too many things. The new powershift mode makes it more simple, but keeps the core mechanics of their game in place, is definitely a step in right direction as a casual player I Def enjoy it more.
I'd like to see a capture the flag or like a hardpoint game mode.
Agree 100%
Not having attachments is crazy
That’s what I’m saying bro ,I’ve been wanting that since season one ,and also they need to add double
Tap sprint so we won’t damage the joysticks
As a brand new player I figured out cash out extremely fast and I don’t play other fps games. The Finals is my favorite game currently
5v5 cash out would probably be more tame compared to the 3v3v3, but making the cash box slowly drain instead of just giving the 10k for the last seconds.
I dont want them zombies in my game anyway
You're gonna kill this game. People like you.
I think the power shift is a good move in there part, more casual mode and it’s fun. I agree that cod was ruined for me by campers in warzone like it’s so down horrendous in that game, I haven’t played cod in years cuz it got so bad and I got bored, so I can agree cod campers will ruin that part of this game if they come over but I want to see success for this game
This game is exactly what the dude in the video said, it’s a mix of siege/cs/val and cod like fps,
This is how games die.
@@rancorious7785 elaborate?
Simpleton cod brains cant understand this game. Its too hard for them
The game is not difficult to understand at all, you might as well just whine skill issue like all the other unoriginal sweats. And certainly, insulting the people that don't understand it, is the best way to keep the game you enjoy alive, by making them not want to play, cause you're an asswipe to them.
As a Simpleton cod player i agree.
I just spammed all their comments, they were introduced to their lame ass battle Royale, hard point, capture the flag at some point and don’t have the IQ for cashout, too bad for them, TikTok brain rot lmao I love the finals how it is, the devs shouldn’t be influenced by dull brains, they’re on a roll
you hit the nail on the head, CoD players have brain rot, Ive found the majority of CoD players hate objective based shooters, Peronally i never liked CoD online cuz its 95% deathmatch and to me DM with real guns and physics is stupid, i prefer battlefield or other more objective based games when it comes to real guns, to me death match is best suited for Unreal Tournament or Quake style gameplay, where you have movement skills to better your survival thats why CoD always felt so Spammy toxic and why everyone just plays Nuke Town cuz they cant stand not being able to get cheap kills, the finals meta is just too much for the CoD players brain to handle ESPECIALLY in ranked tournament FORGET IT, they have no idea how to flow, when to push when to regroup when to flank cuz it was 2 teams and now a 3rd has come, youd think theyd have some feel cuz of Warzones Squad based game play but NOPE LOL
As a casual player power shift is actually the game mode that made me come back. I usually play with friends, but since it's only a 3 player team we don't play it often. The 5v5 is perfect for our friend group.
Well they want to listen to content creators and everything fun was nerfed, the drop off happened at first set of nerfs enough said.
The “team death match with a spin to make it more like the finals” is bank it. Love the vid man
I’ve been playing for a while but am I crazy to say that footstep audio just doesn’t exist in this game? That’s part of what makes it so hard. I’ve trained myself to constantly stay on a swivel because you literally can’t hear enemy players majority of the time.
Something is off on your end. I hear footsteps, and all manner of sounds from enemies. I can hear them reloading, reviving, I can hear their equipment being placed, hear them landing from high falls etc etc.
When i played the Closed Beta i told my friends. if the Devs don't add modes such as: free for All, gun game, TDM 6V6 8V8 etc.. the game will die fast.
I enjoyed the New modes such as cash out. But sometimes you need to just move around and shoot, sniping with a kill cam at the end of the match.
Hardcore mode TDM with light only would be dope (smaller map).
Now we have Terminal Attack (Attack defend). Its been a great experience so far. I hope thye make it permanent.
Powershift is fine for what it is - a simple “tdm” placeholder. It allows people to become familiar with the destruction and gunplay without being any kind of complex mode. And its good for getting grenade damage challenges done lol
THE FINALS NEEDs only one thing : a Mini royale/ Resurgence kind mode to attract new players and blow up
Great video! My solution : shipment style map with destructible walls on the edge of the map, which lead into a larger map, which then leads to an even larger map for the "endgame"
This is one of those games that no matter what as a new player you're going to get destroyed until you start to understand the fundamentals of how the game works. Unfortunately too many people give up on games too quickly when they're just getting blown out by their opponents. Most of my friends that tried it and gave up say it's too chaotic and they just get wrecked.
They’ve never played a battlefield game thats why 😂
It needs a pure casual mode for sure, simple ol tdm kinda jam. There's nothing in THE FINALS that I can introduce to a new player without having to explain a bunch of extra rules. Even Quick Cash is just too much extra mental stack when you're still trying to get a handle on how moving, grabbing, and switching equipment works.
No. Go play cod if you want tdm
@@charleshawk6668 Nobody deserves to be stuck with COD dude. FINALS feels like a Halo Fiesta lobby but everyone takes it so seriously because it's all set to the tune of hyper counterstrike mode. Give new players a chance to fall in love without being overwhelmed, and existing players a reason to stay in THE FINALS when they're run out of pro juice for the day. Real simple stuff man, games are for fun and people leave when they stop having fun.
@@CubesAndPortalsplenty other games with tdm. Go play those.
@@charleshawk6668 why are you so mad? It would help the game grow and not be so intimidating to new players. If you're so pissed abt it then don't play the tdm mode???
@charleshawk6668 and the finals should be another one of those games. Every FPS should have a deathmatch especially since people have CONSTANTLY been asking for it since the betas. The game needs a gamemode thats not objective focus, otherwise it will consistently lose its casual audience and no game survives without its casual audience. Hardcore players dont keep games alive, never have and never will.
These people just need to watch The Finals' trailers and they'll give it a second try guaranteed.
I don't think they have any ads for it or anything it just there and if you find it you find it
Bank It is just Kill Confirmed but you have to deposit your 'tags'
i think they should add just a 3 team death match for new players so its only killing but it doesnt go much with how the finals is built around like you said
I think one of the main problems was just the lack of more casual modes until power shift. I think it has a decent amount of weapons it it could you a lil more. As for game modes we need waaay more. Add TDM, Hardpoint, domination, VIP, CTF, gun game.
I don't play FPS games ever, because I find them hallow and boring. The few exception is The Finals, the game forced me to constantly use my brain and I love it, the game has so much depth and yet at the same time simple, not to mention the joy of dressing up your character with drip. Couldn't find it in any other fps games
I have never played a competitive FPS, The Finals is my first, and I really like it. I’m wondering what’s the difference between The Finals and other FPSs like Valo, Overwatch? I can’t make comparison bcs i’ve never played any, but I’d like to know lol
@@amirulhakim9944 I haven't played Overwatched so I can't say much. As for Valorant, my experience is limited but overall I think its quite boring.
Valo: Fixed skill per character, so you know what to expect of your opponents and teammates, no room for mysteries nor creative
Finals: Semi fixed gadgets per class. Your teammate might carry 6 landmines or a fkin tracking dart, it's random and chaotic, same goes for your opponents
Valo: walk, jump, crouch
Finals: Vault, sprint, jumppad, zipline, slide, dash, teleport, invis, make a hole in the wall/floor overall traversing through the map is quite satisfying
Valo: you can temporarily create obstacles with ability I guess
Finals: DESTRUCTION, CHAOS, MAYHEM, you see that building over there? Boom, it's gone
Valo: you emptied your main weapon, *pulls out pistol
Finals: time to put your problem solving skill at work, you either risky reloading, run away, use gadget, melee them to death or pick up a flower pot and throw at them
Valo: everyone's health is the same and dies in 1-3 shots, the dopamine rush is simply none existing, the moment you killed someone they're no longer a threat
Finals: chonky heavy daddy is still alive after getting headshot with a sniper, mistakes doesn't feel as punishing, defib and revive is a thing so you have to constantly check scoreboard/wipes. That feeling when you 1v3 with a sword is simply heavenly
Valo: 30s buying weapon phase where you can do nothing beside wait for the actual shooting, the shooting lasts 1:40s, repeat this 13 times
Finals: You got 15 minutes but you probably only need half, a lot of freedom, you can either rush for the cashbox or spend time decorating the cashout with 20+ canisters, sing with your homie, goo each other without actually playing the game
Valo: 5v5, very high skill requirements, if you peek at the wrong corner for 0.2s you're dead, has to constantly play mindgames to know where opponents are. Which imo is fun but quite taxing on your brain if you constantly do it
Finals: 3v3v3/3v3v3v3 you can get thrash for the whole match but still win, you pick the locations, put down traps carefully, only for your plans to fall apart most of the time by some unexpected situation, your whole team got wiped, but then the other teams keep fighting each other, you randomly got kills from your traps, somehow you won
Overall I like the Finals because I get to play the game how I want and still be able to compete, you can't do that in other games
My friends only played like 3 games total, they just weren’t willing to learn the game
Solo Bank It except instead of 12 players and the full map, which I think is what they tried in season 1, have fewer players, maybe both solo and duo queuing (I'm just trying to hit all the bases you mentioned, and I often seem 2 friends queuing, maybe with the twist that it is still solo mode, so that a duo might also cooperate with each other, compete with each other, or a mixture of both, where I guess you'd need to have friendly fire). This probably means restricting the maps, which offers some interesting options for devs and the mode, but I think this also might be another really good thing for new players instead of being dropped into some massive map that is super hard to learn entirely? To solve respawns, all I can think of is random respawns starting outside the map boundaries, but I don't know. It's a hard problem you've posed, but it's also super interesting, and what you call for seems like exactly what The Finals needs.
it feels both polished and half baked, fair and complete rng; it swings so much for me. the main reason i personally font play is freinds and the learning a complex meta
They don’t do anything about cheaters, ranked is full of them, and quick play is too casual with the lack of SBMM always putting people on my team that struggle to even get a single kill. I honestly love this game and see that they are working on balancing and making the game better.
The Finals is an open sandbox. I say they just start rolling out gamemode ideas until one sticks with the community. I think there should be a quickplay playlist that includes gamemodes like domination, king of the hill, TDM, free for all, etc but the map layout would need to be different. Less verticality, maybe like a neighborhood map or something. This might sound crazy but a map with less destructive elements might suit well for new players who arent used to the building they are hiding in falling apart lol. They just need something casual, I'm just not sure what that would look like... but something that allows new players to just mess around and get used to the games mechanics and playstyles. The developers have a huge game on their hands. The Finals has the recipe to be the number 1 FPS game. I think they just need to take some risks and go all in. They shouldn't be afraid of overhauling the game if that what it takes. The core game is there though, the gunplay is there, the movement is there, the team comp is there, we just need some good gamemodes to experience all that The Finals has to offer.
I understand what you’re trying to say but in reality if they ever add free for all or tdm they would both be cancer to play. Unless of course they just make everyone mediums so it’s all fair but why even play the finals if you want to play something so unoriginal and un-the-finals. I think they need to use what they have (classes and all) to the best of their potential, create new and interesting game modes without compromising to copying other games.
The game is just overly convoluted. This is an issue present in so many games(not exclusive to computer games) where all that strategies and tactics and novel game play comes from very easily to work with and understand functions, but instead for games like the finals just comes from so many overly convoluted little bit and peaces. Its that good for people that play games for fun for the same reason its not fun to read a game manual for fives minuets every turn. It not particular good for people that want to commit as your just not gonna get fun novel game play because everyone playing is stuck trying to memorize every single rule.
Its not Chess, it monopoly where every roll is determined by your score in several dozen different version of solitaire, but you have to factor in each other players game of solitaire to count your roll. Theirs just so much convulsed mess is much more interesting to just play each game individual.
The reason number 1 is actually why I LOVE The Finals.
I come from Overwatch which also falls into this category of an extremely fast pased shooter where you have to be very strategic and where in many situations positioning is key.
yessir, I came from Overwatch as well but I lost my love for the game during the first season of OW2 but The Finals itches that part of my brain that was occupied by Overwatch for years.
@@serbranardd omg same! I'm a tank main and the switch to 5v5 killed the whole "tank duo" aspect of this game that I really enjoyed. @@Jadeblades_ cheating is seen wayy more on the Asian server, I play on Asian server and have around 250hrs and I've seen like 10 cheaters just blatantly hacking
This is what I always tell people. The skill gap and the unpredictably is why I love this game. Anything could happen at anytime. Situations always differ
There is a game mode that matches what you're saying. It's the cash something, between cash out and powershift when you're queueing
Majority of those initial Peak players just moved on to the next shiny thing when helldivers 2 came out. A lot of people aren't even trying it out, but a beginner friendly mode would def raise the daily player count.
i bought the finals on release, played it for a few weeks, really enjoyed it. but i ended up dropping it after putting 77 hours into because i just found it so damn hard. the fast-paced gameplay combined with the high iq strats and crazy team comps just cooked my brain and i ended up getting tilted more and more game after game cause it was just so difficult. and constantly getting third-partied and turrets around every corner just kind of ruined my experience... i loved running around as a light but the sweatiness made me quit. i'm going to try again soon tho
Great video dude, a lot of valid points. I’ve been loving playing the finals! It feels familiar but fresh, so it sucks it isn’t popping off like I think it should be.
thanks for your comment bossman. this game still has plenty of time to pop off so let's hope the developers continue being amazing
Man I wish The Finals was more popular
I loved it the first time I played
2:16 you have it backwards. Alot of the core players from season 1 left all that are left are mostly new players. I know for a fact because s1 I was ranked 23k, season 2 starts I was ranked 5.5k and I've barley been playing. They're doing a good job of bringing people in at the cost of keeping the core base happy
They also honestly need to balance the abilities in this game. So many of my friends stopped playing when they saw a team of 3 mediums guard a room with 3 turrets, 12 mines and 3 APS turrets. Simply put the power distribution isn’t balanced it and prevents people from playing what they want. People don’t like to be forced into playing a certain role/character. At least in games like overwatch or apex. There’s a large roster of characters for different roles and you can’t spam multiples of the same character. And with Overwatch you can queue specifically for that role, and not have to worry about 5 of the same character. Also in terms of apex legends. Weapons aren’t locked behind specific classes. This is honestly what I think is the biggest issue based on speaking to friends.
I don't mind if this game is the less popular one that does its own thing
I think the TF2 variant of a 6v6 attack/defend would be really fun in some sort of castle or bank type map. Also a king of the hill or payload mode would also be good or even like a multi game mode where there are servers players join and after each match players can vote on the next gamemode. I still think cashout should be the primary ranked experience, but having modes that help ease players into the general game would help a lot just due to how many variable there are in this game.
I honestly think a 5v5 tdm would be tight. A 10 v 10 or 8 v 8 would also be cool. But respawn would need to be unlimited and fast and the score to win should probably be around 30 - 50
They also haven’t advertised the game since launch
Idk, as long as the ques are as shorts as they are right now im happy.
as
I think if they introduced and pushed a mode similar to snd it would really help with the players problems with pace along with maybe a simple tdm
I think they need to have a mode that is mediums only. So that it feels more like a typical fps.
I’d argue the finals can be fast paced shooter or really strategic or even both at ounce. It really depends on your play style. I for ex prefer the purely strategic part because I don’t have time to train my aim and get good at the shooting part of the game
the current gameplay loop is inherently limited. maybe a different rule set/game type that is "The Finals 2.0" that allows you to play the older classic gameplay loop for the smaller audience. Something that can have that choatic, but well paced meaningful spaced out action this game can bring.
I think the main reason that people dont play the finals is the fact that ot feels like ot doesnt have any "main" mode. It feels like a warm up game and its just lackluster imo
may i ask why you dislike powershift? i think it's an amazing addition. i've been playing it more than cash out tbh.
I just started playing the finals because I forgot about it since it first released and if it wasn't on the steam home page I probably wouldn't have remembered but I'm glad it was because I absolutely love this game and haven't had this much fun since BF1942 but one thing that bothers me is the super bright over saturated colors on most of the levels especially the red rooms.
Seeing how we went from 200k players to 20k players the issue obviously isn't onboarding. The issue is making people stick around after.
I think the game needs a better competitive scene but the current tournament isn't working.
I still like playing the finals casually but a casual game will never be my main.
For me, i quit this game, because i am a solo player, and this game is heavily team based. The performance was good, but not perfect. Oftenly the fights we're very chaotic and having bad team mates (and people who quit) was extremely frustrating, which is sad
that is incredibly true i also only play this game with friends
it seems like most of the people who quit matches already don't play the game. It's been happening to me like every 3rd game in season 1, but now it happens maybe once in a 10 matches
This is all steam only. Not accounting for consoles.
It just needs more content and it’ll blow up eventually. It’s just got a too solid foundation to fail.
Amazing gunplay coupled with large vertical and destructible maps but overshadowed by a chaotic gameplay and gadget/skills' abundance imo
I just tried it the other day. In the tutorial I was loving the mechanics, although it looks like a kind of overwatch re-skin Unfortunately I just didn't vibe with the game modes. I also don't like the maps much either. It's definitely a good game though I will still keep having a pop at.
Something like elimination/survival would probably be dope. Round based, 2 or 3 teams and basically manage lives and focus on eliminating the other team or maybe xapture the flag with 2 teams 5v5.
I am still unsure why they don’t just have a true TDM or kill confirmed game mode. Bank it is close to kill confirmed, but still is sorta complex with strategies or gameplay styles. Plus power shift is simple, but the rule set can be weird sometimes and strategies also are kinda needed since many team comps are what define how you can/cannot attack the point. Maps can also drastically change how a game plays out so yea, love the game but I won’t lie they need a lower floor for true casuals to come join and at least enjoy the game without wanting to die
There's quite a few reasons why this game is falling short:
1 - Lack of exposure. I told a group of friends about this game and they said they'd never even heard of it.
2 - Moving goalposts. They keep constantly readjusting the weapon balances because they didn't balance the game well in the first place which pisses a lot of people off because you can't get your footing. If you can't balance the game then you are obviously trying to do too many things at once (snipers, melee, shotgun, long range etc).
3 - They confused players with different game modes when they should've focused all of their trajectories towards Ranked Tournament which is by far the best mode. They are now spreading a smaller player base even thinner with new unnecessary game modes that will only detract.
4 - It's a team game that HEAVILY relies on teamwork which not everyone can/want to grasp. This isn't the same as traditional "team" deathmatch where you can cruise by without communicating. Everytime I get matched with teammates who ignore the rest of the team and go off on their own the match is a guaranteed loss and makes me want to stop playing.
5 - Not everyone is competent at maths. I'm matched with people who simply can't do the basic maths required to understand how to win the game.
6 - The game much like Battle Royale games, can unfortunately be very luck based. You can do all the work for the entire match, rack up a ton of kills as a team, fight off two other teams to the brink of death and then get screwed over at the last second by another team who just stroll in and steal the point after wandering around unchallenged the entire match. This is my biggest problem with the game as it makes you feel like "whats the point" some of the time.
7 - The latest map is very poor.
Just a heads up, heard about this game from a friend, whos friend works with embark. Got keys for cb1, and I still havent seen a single ad for the game, other than the videos they upload(Ive been subbed since I found the game,.soooo....)
the fact that in game vc is buggy as hell in a game where coordination is often the difference between a win and a loss doesnt help,
For me it's the lack of goals to work towards. I'm not really one for battlepasses so I don't really buy them, but I will buy a skin if I really like it. That's the problem though, unless I purchase things with real money I will never be able to get the things I want. I either pay to get the immediate gratification of getting the skin, or I don't get it at all because there is no way to earn currency. They also have the same ranked system that made me get bored of rainbow six siege. I don't do placements that put me at the rank I should be, I just have to continuously play the game while ever so slowly going up through the brackets starting from the very beginning. The game has good replay-ability gameplay wise, but it really feels like they neglect the fact that people are driven when they can work towards things and have set goals without having to have some caveat to it.
Good video, I think a CSGO type gamemode would be cool maybe 5v5 but instead of c4 it would be a box that you need to place in the cashout and the defending team can steal the cash and win the round.
First point you make is a nice analysis (sadly for us fans of The Finals). Then I watched further, and your second point also seems very true.
I think youtubers that are flashy could make this game popular since it goes with the GameShow vibes and the devs gave us all the tools to be complete goblins on the battlefield
yea this game needs more hype it's just so fun, so much chaos and awesome movement and utilities, i think bank it is the casual mode since most people don't even care if they win
It's the multiple team game modes and the fact that ranked takes so much time as it's multiple rounds, unless you get knocked out in the first round.
I personally came back in S2, BECAUSE of the new game mode. 2 Teams is perfect. It's how it should be.
20h so far, all Power Shift.
I know it wouldnt exactly be new player friendly, but id like to see a 5v5 protect the leader mode. No heavies apart from 1 on each team that has more health like 500 and marker above their head, team mates respawn while the leader is alive, squad wipe to win the round and gain cash and there would be multiple short rounds, similar to the mode in gears of war.
Capture the flag with 5 players - 2 teams - domination with 4 teams of 3 -
Free for all with 8 players - payload is already good - S & D / or hostages would also be an cool option
I honestly think capture the flag might be the best casual mode to put in this game
The platform is interesting but they need a Hardpoint type game type. I think they were probably working on it because the Vegas map had those turrets that would pop up at cash out sites and cash boxes. This could be a simpler solution to a starter game type.
It sucks, I love this game but my friends are just hooked up on their other main games. I currently main'd Apex for many, many years and when the Finals came out, I was thoroughly enjoying my time with the launch. I love season 2 and it's direction but I'm currently suffering brain-rot with Apex Ranked grind at the moment. I hope Embark stand up and come up with something that will hook us all!
This game doesn't just need one casual gamemode, it needs all of them. It should have king of the hill, domination, tdm, ctf, etc. It needs more variety.
Im agree with a lot that you say and also I want to add that cash out needs to be play with a lot of coordination with teammates and for solo player with randoms its get boring and frustrating pretty fast...
Been playing the finals since the official release & I haven't regretted a second of it, this game is top tier fun!
it needs every game mode from Gotham City Imposters
TBH if people don’t play it cause it’s too complicated for them then they can stay off it, cause if this game it’s too complicated then probably tying your shoes is also too complicated for them too.
If anyone would like to get into the game and learn just let me know i would love to help the game rise in players
System requirements is also a factor why it's not as popular. You can play other esports FPS titles with just integrated graphics.
the finals is the best game rn
In short people aren’t smart enough to enjoy it to its fullest capability. The more intricacy you put in a game the less people will stick with it
yet r6s has been thriving lately... weird...
@@AkkirOrihsamwhat world you living r6 was literally on life support until jynxi n that new character

All you need to do decent in R6S is to camp a corner close to the objective. It won't get you anywhere in Ranked but that's all you need to be better than the average mouthbreather in Casual. The Finals on the other hand requires good aim, good movement and paying constant attention to what every team and player is doing. There's no such thing as booting up this game to relax after a night's work, it is Adderall: The Game.
Great video bro, keep up the good work!
my friends and i absolutely loved the finals in its beta. it was a very fun, creative, and new FPS game that hadn't been done before and we played it for multiple hours a day. that, PLUS the insanely good cosmetics just made the game perfect. but after the beta, it just wasnt fun for some reason. after playing it more, we came to the conclusion that it was too chaotic with all the different weapons and abilities. now the only reason i even still check on this game is because the cosmetics are too good.
to be honest if Rainbow six siege didn't regain traction like it has recently then I'd have considered jumping on the Finals
