    Nice electronics!!! Im thinking of getting the Max 6 combo. How close is the motor to the chassis? When doing big jumps and landing hard, will the motor hit down on the chassis?

    • @yaffajaff
      @yaffajaff 3 роки тому +1

      I have this setup in my Notorious. It is a powerhouse! The motor's heatsink ridges can rub a little on the chassis due to flex when jumping. I CA glued a small rubber grommet to the chassis underneath the back end of the motor to take the brunt 👍

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  3 роки тому +3

      It's really close...not hitting, but like Yas said - a thin rubber bumper might help.....I've had scratching on chassis before....it just slightly mars the finish of the chassis and the motor, no real performance issues though

    This was a great video but buyer beware. I purchased the same servo (based on your video) and on my 5th battery pack over a 2 month time span, the servo torque is very weak the point where the wheels can barely turn when my Mojave is on the ground. I tried contacting the seller and they are basically telling me that this servo was meant to be used on a 1/10 scale. So I'm out of luck. Just trying to save some of you the headache.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  3 роки тому

      Sorry to hear that...the specs of this servo are plenty for the Mojave - but keep in mind, it's for a platform with a free turning steering system. The Arrma cars have one of the most "binding" steering systems on the market and they need to be kept up or they will burn through servos easily. An easy way to test this is remove the steering linkage and try and move the steering. It should move without any force...literally just fall. The A80 was originally made for 1/10th and 1/8th vehicles, but AGF came out with the A81 to be more of a 1/8th scale servo...the only difference is just slightly higher specs. Also, it depends on your driving style - are you more of a smooth driver, or trying to land massive jumps on the driver front wheel?

    • @batboyvaj
      @batboyvaj 3 роки тому

      @@TheRCNetwork Understood and meant no disrespect to you. I know the specs are plenty, but if something does go wrong, the seller may use the 1/10 scale verbiage as a scapegoat to deny a warranty. I'm a pretty smooth driver but lasting only 5 packs is really disappointing. If I lift up the Mojave (wheels in the air), the wheels move side to side just fine. The problem is when it's on the ground.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  3 роки тому

      @@batboyvaj no worries….I’ve never been fond of the Arrma steering rack/system. Lots to get bound up there….and have seen that issue before with different servos. Have you tried swapping servos to see if others do that?

    whats the top speed of your setup? and are the pinion gears and all electronics that you chose bashable and stay intact without damaging anything?. since rtr normally are not recommended to change to the 6-mph pinion gear so that's why im asking. AND also how much were all the electronics? was it worth it to get the exb version and build yourself or was it more worth it to get the rtr version of this? would appreciate if you answer my questions as i am looking to check if i should get the rtr or this. thanks :)

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  3 роки тому

      No idea on top speed, as I'm not interested in that....I'm more concerned on the torque and ability to move that nearly 20lbs truck. IMO, the EXB is the way the Mojave should be offered....with the upgrades. If you have the knowledge and are mechanically inclined, I'd always suggest the EXB and installing your own electronics...you'll have something tailored to your taste instead of something tailored to the masses. The RTR comes with a 2050kv motor, where I installed a 1650kv (larger can too), so I bumped up the gearing to accommodate the lower kv. As for price - that varies, but I have links in the video description. And yes, if you watch my running video, the electronics are highly washable, much more so that the stock RTR

      The Mojave EXB does not need to be shimmed - it includes the LSD plates on all three differentials. The confusion is that on the Kraton EXB (when it first was released) there was a manufacturing issue on the rear diff only (it didn't have the LSD plates). The factory was supposed to put 3 shims in to take place of the LSD plates, and I believe they only put in 1 or 2 causing issues in some Kraton EXB's.

    Good morning Rich,
    I do like your vids, clean style and well spoken.
    After some time, what are your thoughts on the EXB Mojave and the parts that you have chosen? whuld you change anything?
    I am doing this build now and I have selected the parts that you used, apart form the radio. I am using Radiolink RG4GS V3
    In regards to the diffs what fluid viscosity did you end up going with?
    I see a lot of people on forums use 30k rear 500k centre 60k front and what shock oil viscosity did you end up with also. Its will be a fun basher on dirt and grass with only medium jumps and nothing stupid like sending it to space or something, it cost to much to abuse and fix.
    Many thanks and have a great Christmas from Australia.

    • @TheRCNetwork
      @TheRCNetwork  Рік тому

      I wouldn't change anything, tbh. People run higher viscosity fluid to try and minimize power transfer, or in other words create a more locked feel. I like the way it drives from factory. I would minimize any grass usage, that will be sure to degrade your electronics really quick. Happy RCing!

    Great choice of electronics sir, just a question on the afrc servo, does it fit directly on the servo slot? Or do we need to install servo mounts for added height/fitting. Thanks and cheers!

      Yeah, I installed a couple of shims that were included in the EXB kit bag - just so it wouldn't be hitting the chassis plate

    arrma should sell thick shim or spacer for exb rear diff ASAP. lsd rear diff is not that 💩💩💩 but still open diff is much better

    • @TheRCNetwork

      I agree on open diff, but I like that Arrma was pretty open about it and the main guy (Jason) was on the forums responding to questions and giving info. Most RC companies, let alone the main guy wouldn't touch that with a 10ft pole.

      A thicker shim is not the fix😂......I raced 1:1 Porsches and ran a local German repair/race prep/dyno shop in SoCal for 20 + years.
      I tried to shim it before I even ran the first pack. My SOP after 40+ years in RC. There was no excessive clearance, meaning, no room for a shim. I’m on my second warranty diff since I received my Kraton EXB in the first batch delivered in August. Gear Clearance or Material choices are at fault here. Plain and simple.

      @@ruftime huh? Jason mentioned about thicker shim that will be released soon and there's some ppl who got replacement rear diff with thicker shim.
