Love your idea man, and the fact that you’ve done such a deep dive on the lore to get the right colours etc is outstanding. Thanks so much for being a part of this, definitely need to do another one!
Absolutely loved the readings man! Left this one till last seeing as its a million miles long lol. Blender would have worked nicely man, but it is a bit of a steep learning curve... Takes ages just to get to grips with moving the model to where you want on screen! Love the way you got your colour scheme directly out of the text from The fall of Gondolin, but the addition of the green was a good shout! I am still a total noob when it comes to all the profile stuff so it sounds like Elvish to me 🤣Always entertaining though man !
Cheers man. Yeeeh I will get to blender one day or zbrush. It looks like it takes a lot of work to get familiar with all the tools and master the hot keys but one day I'll get there 😆
Excellent lore dump and creative fun. love the look of thos elves. For a a special rule how about when Rog charges all Hammer of wraths and Master Smiths gain fearless?
I'm only a minute in, but I have to comment now... I'm HYPED UP for this video! Epic reading of an epic scene, love the background sounds of battle! I'll add to this comment in a bit! FIRST AGE, BEST AGE! Back again! You're killing me with these bloopers xD
Sounds cool and the Dwellers in the Dark are like mini Balrogs. Could have pajama Elves with Hammers and have those represent the ones that have just been freed. 🤷
Awwww dwellers why didn't I remember those would have been perfect. Love the PJ elf idea too that's sick! I'm thinking of swaping burly for master crafted after some feedback
Great video. Always an inspiration. I really appreciate your foray in stat-building rather than stat-matching So what do these Lesser Balrogs look like stat-wise? Because you need some stats to fight the ones you made!
Nah, first age stuff is great. One of the special rules i gave celebrimbor (for being a smith) was like if he wins the duel, instead of making strikes he can spend a point of will and shatter a peice of his opponents wargear.
@@jmaccsarmiesofArda yeah, pretty much built him from scratch, inspiration from some of the other elven heroes obviously. But he's more a supporting hero. Allows Khazad Dûm as green allies as well, similar restrictions to Gil Galad Also my favourite rule. Made him a 3 inch banner, but the model that says him becomes a 6 inch banner, nice little reference to some of Tolkien's darker law, and just makes me laugh thinking about some random orc suddenly becoming a 6 inch banner lol
I’m gonna be honest, I know FUCK ALL about this time in Middle-earth, however I loved what you did! :D Side note, wanna record an audiobook? ;) I recon I could fall asleep with you chatting to me about Middle-earth :p
I made a custom list with all the high elves of the 1st age including Rog and the fall of gondolin but I think I gave Rog 6/3+ 5 6 3 2 6 3/3/1 with burly and rule to get an additional +1 strength or something like that
Hello, i am curious about your other 1st Age armies. What rules system do you use to play them? I am planning on delving into the 1st Age myself and keep shifting between Dragon Rampant and Oathmark or sticking to MESBG with a homebrewed new supplement.
Oooh depends what scale. For low level skirmish I make my own MESBG profiles but large scale battles in 10mm, perhaps some historial sets like piquet Archon. Really depends id use whatever you like. Ive heard Oathmark are great but sadly never got round to trying them.
@@jmaccsarmiesofArda Are there any groups for sharing 1st age MESBG profiles? I am keen to discuss ideas with others. I had the drive to create profiles over the last week or so. I have 100 characters sketched out with troop profiles to go along. The last few days i was fleshing out Noldor and Gondolin profiles but they probably require some playtesting before they are complete.
@@benbaird6968 Thats sick man! Sadly I dont think there is but you can post them in most MESBG game groups for feedback. @jmaccsarmiesofmiddleearth alright here's another one that just came to me in the shower. Buckle up as it's a deep cut. In the battle of the Pelennor Fields we get this: "countless companies of Men of a new sort.... Not tall, but broad and grim, bearded like dwarves, wielding great axes. Out of some savage land in the wide East they come" We never find out who these people are. In the 80s Iron Crown Enterprises and GW published the Middle Earth Role Playing Game and added an original race, the Umli, half dwarves, partly to add more playable races, partly to explain that quote. An Umli list?
@@null-4699 oooft I have to admit I'd completely forgot about them. Perhaps the dwarves of the East interbreed with humans at some point. Doing a whole race and new mechanics would be rly interesting. Also not sure how I'd model them
Can't wait for you to finish this, so we can see The Rog Vlog.
