So good to see you are back. Take it easy on yourself as you recover. Surgery is no fun. The outside garden is so lush. I love it! With respect to your question about plants for the outside garden, I have a garden around my mailbox, which gets hit by plenty of snow & salt during our Michigan winters. Ground cover phlox, surprisingly, does really well. You only get a few weeks of color, but I like the green ground cover in the summer. Sedum is another plant that does well. Although I am not a huge fan of day lilies, they also do well & are located right next to the road. Your inside garden is amazing. I can’t fathom the amount of work & thought that has gone into creating and maintaining it. Kudos on such a spectacular space.
Thanks for the update. It all looks amazing and there are some really wonderful views. I am loving the container clusters on either side of the Moongates. They really are interesting. And of course the sidewalk garden is spectacular 😍. I hope your recovery goes well. Fall planted peonies will be showing up before you know it. 😂🤗
Thank you! I limited my peony order this year to just some whites and creams for one of the expanded borders. I got one splurge and the rest classics. I think it’s just 6, a record low for me 🥰
What a gorgeous house and gardens! The outside of the fence is amazing being so young! I didnt see any black and blue salvia!!! Did i miss it? That would be amazing around there! I checked on your video sbout that greenhouse youve got, i want one! Ill get it in the fall i guess as i got another one coming now. I want to grow strawberries in it without the squirrels and birds and slugs getting them all! And many other things here in 8b. I hope your feeling much better🙏
I haven't had good luck with Lewisa though I love them, we get too soggy for them a lot of the time in Spring. Maybe Euphorbia? If you give me the time stamp, I'll look for you. Thanks so much!
thank you, I'm really pleased with how it's turned out. Eventually the other borders will have that same feel, we just keep expanding them and I love more variety so it's harder to get that flowing swathes of color look. I'm glad I waited for 2 years to work on it, I learned so much about spacing, texture etc.
A+ and a big WOW! Very impressive and relaxing, thanks for sharing! Ariele from Valley Forge
