Hey Rob, random question im going to my first coin show and i was wondering is it bad coin edicate if i look at coins under a coin loop if i ask to hold a coin jsut wodnering.
Always take pictures or document coins before you send them in case they did cause any damage on the morgan
I just don't see how the 2 cent piece is cleaned. No brush marks, no odd colors, dang. Just because its a professional service doesn't always mean they are correct! Love the coins Rob, don't see any issues with them
This is what I was gonna say. Like to a T. Lol
Rob! You know your unboxings are learning experiences. Some of us welcome the chatter.
I agree, I like the rambling on, keep it up
Me too , all Robs videos and lives are educational to me .
Agreed, the extra is what I come for. Otherwise might as well just look at a price guide.
Explain to me how being encased in a sealed holder will further deteriorate a lamination error. I would think that being sealed away from direct contact with people would be the best protection it could get.
The holder would definetly protect the coin. The problem is whatever made the delamintion start is a defect inside the coin, and there's no way to know if or when it will stop. It could get worse on its own.
@@wasatchwizard4770 - Good point. Thanks.
Im a machinist/ tool and die worker, after the metal is struck it generates a lot of internal stresses in the metal due to work hardening. Once it splits those stresses continue to self deform the metal and it can 100% get worse with time
Sure it could get worse but not to the point of it being a issue, some collectors like those coins. Getting coins graded is just a pain, the 2 cent coin in general. Just grade the nickel and move on,,if it gets worse who cares, no one will buy it or it will still be collectible to some people since it's graded. Having a extremely small group of people grading coins is just insane, they're all over the place even with identical looking coins, it's like they see way to many coins and keep tract of their opinions smh
Rob, go ahead and ramble. It's just fine, and very educational. I've been collecting for over fifty years now and for the most part I've only really focused on type coins. So when I watch your videos and see the double dies, and the different die pairings it's all very interesting to me. We're never to old to keep learning. Thank you 😊
By the way, I think PCGS was pretty rough on you.
I agree. 5 months of waiting for undervalued assessments
I do love watching your unboxing, they are very educational. Thanks for sharing.
glad to see you did well on some of those grades brother 👊🏽 I love getting my coins back from PCGS always a good time 🔥🐉
Thanks brother! Appreciate you leaving a comment my friend!
We love to hear you talk about coins! Part of what makes your channel special is learning about them from you!
Rob, Keep up the chattering thats how we learn more
The BEST kind of video!
Bummer about the coins that turned out to be duds. Thanks for taking us along as you got to see what grades you got, we appreciate it!
Nice show, very informative
Exciting video❗️
Rob, you have a natural talent in presenting & building drama for the reveals. They graded out about where you hoped, some higher and some a grade too low 🧐. And having to wait ½ a yr... Again, great video 👍❗️
We love when you ramble on. Like my dad always said growing up. "If you listen you could learn something" so teach me RFT! Great share, the 1903o was my favorite and I think little lite on the grade. Good results overall "can't get mad at that" Stay safe and Peace from Kansas!!!
It’s about time PCGS! Love the submission unboxing videos 👍
I'm 60 and r e-learning coins. Really appreciate your finer points and deeper info. Please keep it up. Thanks.
Rob I personally love the extended video with chatter. I actually learn from these videos.
I Learn alot from these PCGS unboxing vids...Thanks Rob
says alot when you dont get any thumbs on your comment😕😭
Enjoyed this!! Also enjoy the "rambling"!! I especially like to find out the value versus what you paid. Thanks for the video!!
Love the unboxing videos! Sorry you didn’t get the grades you were looking for on some of them. Thanks Rob!
Rob I think the way you did this much better because I learned a lot of things. Thank you!!! I think you should do always like this but it’s your choice!
Thank you Ion. I had fun doing it this way. The rough draft was 44 minutes LOL. Had to edit it down a ton to keep it around 30 minutes. Then, it took 2 hours for UA-cam to process it and clear review which is why I posted it so late.
THANKS FOR THE VIDEO
Okay two points to make. First, PCGS needs to hire more coin graders lol. And two, ramble on because we all enjoy it!
You win some and lose some. Beautiful coins. Great video as always!. Peace.
That's why you should take a picture so you know for sure when you get it back if it was there or not. I always do that.
Rob, I enjoy your rambling. The history of the coin, how you found it is very interesting and entertaining. Keep rambling!
Big like 962! Thank you so much for sharing! Excellent video!
Rob your channel is one of the reasons I got back into collecting. Much appreciated and your content is always spot on. Tell Silver Seeker to never use power tools on his channel. He makes me nervous even when he uses a dremel.
I enjoyed the commentary with video.
Ramble on! It's an education for me.
Great video Rob, I think you could do a “Boxing” video to go along with your unboxing.
YES, my favorite type of video, and half an hour to boot!
Really enjoy watching these box openings. Some day I might get brave and send a few in. Thanks again for sharing, as always much appreciated... Steve
I personally like it when you take your time!!
In fact take more time if you like.
Keep yammering on Rob. Your knowledge leaks are educational!
Hey Rob, love your videos, you’re my fave coin channel. Wondering if, on your grade reveal videos, you’d be willing to pop each coin under the “microscope”? I’m learning and it would save me from the time consuming task of going back to each individual video and hunting through for the right coin. Just a kind request. Thanks!
Rob - love your videos… always insightful. I will tell you we need a comparison video on the various grading services. What I mean is PCGS and NGC both control populations and provide pricing as to the sales of coins in their holders. it would be interesting to see how ICG and ANACS might have graded some of your VAMS and varieties. I think ANACS is the best option for errors and varieties since they recognize more than any of the other services. AND the error is the thing everyone wants. It doesn’t matter what holder the error is encapsulated in… Anyway, lets explore a test with all of the services. Let’s put pressure on PCGS to get better and quicker. They have gotten too big for their britches. Cheers!
Another sweet video - and getting coins back from PCGS is always frustrating! Especially when you get "cleaned" or "scratched" without a grade. And - I love these long videos!
Those were epic!! And please, ramble!! I learn a lot. 🤘🤘🤘
It sure is nice to see how they grade the coins I've learned alot once again! Thanks for sharing, your knowledge is spot on Sir!
ROB I LOVE HOW MANY VIDEOS YOUR MAKING 😀
One the Morgans the cheeks are the huge thing. As soon as you flipped the 1880-S over I knew it wasn't 64 even with out the grade being right there, just cause of those cheek marks.
Great video all around.
Always love watching the unboxing videos. Your knowledge about grading is excellent. When a coin comes back lower than expectations you take the time to look again at the coin and explain to those that don’t have the knowledge what you think they saw to bring a coin grade down. That is most helpful for those of us who are not as familiar with the minute differences between say an MS65 to an MS64 or 63. Thanks for posting and sharing!
I appreciate that brother!
The 2 cent piece does look cleaned, you can see the brush marks on the shield
Thanks for the video!
Can't wait to see how this turns out love PCGS videos
even clean is a BAUTIFULL coins wow
One of the most anticipated videos. So sad the video wasn’t longer. Thanks for the awesome video!
Hey rob I apologize for not coming to your auction but I do view them and give you thumbs up timing is off I need to change up a few things and stop in the auction i do however watch some videos of your coin roll hunting what I like to get from you is the coin boards that show what to keep that’s one thing I don’t have thank you for your information great information good job
great looking coins i liked all of them
Thanks for the unboxing Rob! It seems like you were squeezed on a few!!
I just got my coins back after 165 days from PCGS. They had 4 of my coins in the bubble wrap and not graded. Those originally came out of a holder, but they called them cleaned
I sent an express submission recently; a few days after I sent it, I realized that I forgot to submit the coin, which was why I made the submission an express submission, I do have other coins in the submission if they hit a certain grade which there is a possibility of the submission will still be worth the cost.
Thanks for the video.
Love these videos Rob👍🏻 Thanks 😊
You did preety good I'd Say!! Cheers JJ
I love the pcgs videos. You should do my variety videos also a vid about all the copper pennys you keep I’m interested of how you store yours
Check the video for the 1880 Morgan and see if that cheek scuff was there. Maybe they damaged it. The cheek on that 1885 was worse than the 1880 and it got an MS64?
Stoked you sent it in. I have 2 of the other ones I kept for myself at PCGS right now... glad you got a 65 . I picked thru the other ones and sent my best 2 hoping for that MS66 as well
Yes sir. Knew it was at least a 64-65, but thought it might have a chance at 66. Still happy overall with it for sure. Hope you get a 66 on at least 1 of them!
@@RobFindsTreasure I think its a top pop if I do, I watched the vid after the stream last night and when you had the list out I was like YES!! I wonder what it got 65 is still awesome. See you tomorrow on the stream good sir
Man, that was a brutal one. Especially the delamination on that nickel.
Great video Rob. Love the unboxing videos.
Great submission video as always Rob! I will say, on the 2 cent piece, when the lights hit the high points, I cab see why they went with cleaned. It's minor, but those old coppers can get ya!
I'm waiting to send my Morgans and $1 Gold Pieces in to be certified until next year, when CAC will be certifying and slabbing beginning first quarter.
PCGS has such a reputation of being too strict with grades. Thats why there is so many with CAC stickers
ROB, You should talk more. I like the video as is. Your excitement and knowledge is awesome. I wish that 2 cent would have straight graded.
Great video Rob! Can’t win them all🤷🏼♂️
Cool
Love these Videos, the PCGS submission vids are my favorites. I would crack that 2 cent piece open and submit it to NGC. Thanks again for the post
Interesting video. Nice coins.
Only ANACS certifies and attributes Vam's. NGC and PCGS pick and choose which ones they "like" ............
Can’t get too mad at those results... 🤷♂️🙃 Thanks for sharing Rob. Have a great day. 😎👍 PS.......FTB!!!😁
I know it's disappointing that some didn't grade exactly as you'd hoped, but overall, some beautiful coins, and glad to see them slabbed and preserved. I'd be happy with nay of those in my collection, that's for sure! All the best, Rob! Thanks again for sharing - I love see these grading reveals!
That 2 cent copper looked pretty clean to bad it was cleaned it looked nice
That's a nice buffalo nickel but then again I'm use to no dates lol nice coins anyway
love the reveals Rob maybe it's time to try a diffrent grader, pcgs is vary questionable as of late.
Ya. I'm thinking CAC Is gonna be the new #1 within 1 year of thier start. Pcgs is just way too much mistakes and grading lower than should. I think to keep the #s of super high grades low. On some for sure
Great unboxing Rob! That 1914-D buffalo also looks like the die is rotated slightly too.
Too bad on the DDR nickel. Yeah, PCGS will not holder a coin with lamination that is peeling, to the point where it might break off in the slab, but they certainly holder coins with lamination errors. Didn't look like your nickel was peeling to the point where it could break off in the slab. I wonder if they would have treated it differently if submitted under error service to have them denote the lamination error? I say that because usually if the lamination is significant, they make us put them in error holders. They do this because they don't want people buying a straight grade VF30 coin to be surprised with a lamination error if it were not mentioned on the holder. The spotty toning on the MS62 Morgan was absolutely why it graded that grade. Toning and overall eye appeal are part of the grade these days, particularly on Morgans. Even if the coin is MS64 or better based on hits/marks/luster. Also, you don't have to ask PCGS for PL or DMPL. If the coin deserves it they'll use that grade eve if submitted under regular coin number. That Two Cent had to be pretty close to straight grading. The reverse looked maybe a little to bright/light for a VF and compared to the obverse maybe? They can be tough, but from the buyer's side, we want them to be tough and that's why PCGS go for the big bucks! Great video!
Rob can you go over PCGS membership and how to fill out the paperwork. going through my first box of dimes and pennies
I have a how to video on it but it is for the online submissions: ua-cam.com/video/znhMSQBRLu4/v-deo.html
Great video
Idk the 1880 I Morgan cheek scuff looks fresh
Awesome coins Rob, congrats on some of the good grades but wow they keep giving you the shaft. Those coins looked amazing & the way they nitpick the grade by a point high or low is the 2nd reason I don't want to send mine out for grading, the 1st reason is how long it takes for them to do it but great video anyway brother 👍
That 1914-d buffalo has a rotated die too 😳
It does. Nice eye!
So unfortunate on the buffalo DDR. Really should look past the lamination error once it's slabbed.
Hi Rob. Your camera work and clarity of coins is 1st class. Do you use a ring light with your phone camera or something different. Great work keep it up.
Thanks brother. Yes, a Ring light with some studio lights, along with the 4K video setting on my phone camera.
Very nice coins there Rob !
Man, great video!!!
Have you ever recorded a quick shot of each coin before submission? maybe 20-30 seconds showing the front and back and what grade you are expecting and then continuing with the grading reveal? It would be a learning experience for those of us new to the grading process. As is still a great video!!
I should do that brother. Great idea!
Rob, just show the coins already....🤣
They grade 80S, 81S dollars tougher, because they usually do come really nice
270 Days for mine just to finally move into grading . But be worth the wait.
Five months! That's enough to make me consider NGC.
You need to get Charlani to submit all Coppers from now on mate.
keep up the uploads
You need to take pictures of your coins before you send them in. Nice unboxing 👍
Congrats on the coins and I’d say the 2¢ should go back again. 👍🙏👍
I wasn't aware PCGS didn't recognize all VAMs. Now I'm worried about an 1884-CC I submitted with a VAM5
You think 155 days is bad, I sent 11 comic books into CGC to be graded, it took 14 months to get them all back.
Thanks for this incredible video. What is the process of coins grading and how much do I have to pay to get my coins graded?
Seems the dies were a bit rotated on the back of the 1914D Buffalo.
It was long but entertaining and informative. Would rather have this than see you glaze over the details to make it a 12 minute video.
Have not submitted any coins for grading, Worry about being shot down on the grades, and What used to be the purple label of being cleaned.
