his theme is so hip hop inspired, very different from his more traditional, poetic samurai self- quite interesting. is it because of the poetry? how rap is a form of poetry? or is it the appreciation of old japanese hip hop?
This is probably being made because kazuha is a samurai and a ronin that run from inazuma, and the hip-hop part show the ronin side from kazuha that he's free and not lock to one place, this is just my guess
That's a very valid question! This is an explanation I found on Bilibili- I only translated it to the best of my ability (with some help from Google):
This PV has two elements of homage: one is the rewind and the hip-hop, these reference Watanabe Shinichirō's Samurai Chanpurū (or Samurai Champloo). Samurai Chanpurū does not stick to the style of traditional Japanese films, and rather uses flowing fighting scenes paired with hip-hop style music. Also, whenever the sound of the DJ is heard the video will repeatedly rewind, creating a unique style. Second is the black-and-white color scheme, this I believe many people know already, this pays homage to Akira Kurosawa's swordfighting films.

gawd the trailer was so good. Dunno if its just me thinking that it's one of the best up there with hu taos albedos and xiaos. (zhongli's is in a league of its own atp but I'm putting kazuhas trailer 2nd place behind him because of the old Japanese samurai movie themes)
Ganyu's is super good if only for the amazing music. That rendition of the Liyue main theme is the best track they've put out to date imo.

Kazuhas theme is a mix of peaceful and yet powerful. In my opinion, kazuha wants revenge for his old friend thus he helped the resistance.
in simple words, Kaedehara Kazuha wants peace and revenge at the same time.
The vision Anemo also suits him.
he is sometimes calm and peaceful and yet he can be strong and devastating.
(English is not my first language but I hope you understand what I wanted to say)
I wouldn't say wanting revenge. He did have a moment thinking if it's revenge or not, but in the end it isn't. Tomo was defeated by Kujuo Sara without any tricks/fair and square and Raiden delivered the final blow. It's just that.
Kazuha accepted it since it was an honorable death. Of course, it's not bad or out of place feeling anger or wanting revenge but his culture says otherwise. It's like in the Last Samurai film where he is both Katsumoto and the widow of the red samurai killed by Tom Cruise.
If you ever need proof, listen to his view of the Raiden Shogun. He "got over it" or doesn't hate her when she delivered the killing blow but he dislikes the vision hunt decree.
He would hate someone or you, if they interfered with Tomo's execution and would commit seppuku to restore their honor. Of course this is too much for MHY with the CCP behind them but not showing it would be ridiculing the old culture of Japan and even if we think it's some twisted morality/honor in today's standards.
Im pretty sure his theme song is made to represent the two conflicting sides of his personality, the song consists of a mix of tradicional japanese music and a modern pop song, the tradicional japanese music represents his love for inazuma (japan) and for its traditions and the modern song is ment to represent his revolucionary side where even though he respects inazuman traditions he questions the authority of the shogun, one of the founding beliefs of the nation.
