@@FlightheroRC Are you seeing a lot of other people out there flying as well? I know back in the 80's and maybe 90's there was a driving golf range across Mercury Blvd from what was a Super K-mart but now its an Amazon delivery station.
@@jeffdbaker71I've seen a couple people out there before but its been awhile. I've had security guards drive past me and not say anything and some even pull up and watch me take off.
@@FlightheroRC That sounds sweet. Maybe I will catch you out there when I am on that side of the country visiting. Keep up the excellent work. Nice videos. That Fort has a lot of great memories for people.
Sometime before the end of the year i plan to do that. Right now the only issue is that the air data interface doesn't have adjustable brightness or night modes. Me and some others are working on trying to reverse engineer the system so we can have more accurate flight data and potentially an adjustability function for brightness. I will also be using an INAV osd if I fly at night just to ensure redundancy
Nice debrief. I have a new FW 2150kv 12bld 80mm arriving any day now. I'm going to test it in my Gripen. If it improves the Gripen I might change out my 9Bld 1900kv units i put in my F-14 years ago. I'll be watching to see how your upgraded power system comperes. By the way Congrats on your graduation.
I appreciate it! And yes let me know how it goes the DX-38s are running nearly 400$ per unit with the motors included. If your set up provides similar power 7-9lbs of thrust let me know because I would buy those instead if I knew they had a similar output to the Dx38s
@@FlightheroRC rc castle listed them as 7.5 lbs (3.4 kg), motion rc listed them as 8.1 lbs (3.7 kg). I don’t have my thrust stand anymore, so my test will be the old school scale method while mounted in the Gripen.
@@FlightheroRC just put it in the Gripen. I have a table top hobby scale the unfortunate maxes out at 13.27 lbs. stock Gripen 6s system came in at 6.2 lbs. this lines up with the specs of 2.9 kg When I put the 2150 unit in, the scale maxed out at about 3/4 throttle. That’s 7lbs Gripen AUW and over 6.27 lbs of thrust. I’m working on getting another digital floor scale to do further testing. But at this point I would bet it lines up with RC castles specs of 3.4kg or 7.5 lbs.
@@FlightheroRC ok got a new hobby scale that reads up to 86lbs. It was reading light compared to the other one that maxed out at 13.27, by 0.45% . I would guess that since the max 13.27 lb scale is limited that it would be more accurate. But here is the numbers read while in the Gripen . Scale1 is the 13.27, scale2 is the new 86. Battery HRB 6s 6000mah 50c, fully charged before each unit tested. Stock set up scale1 one 6.2 lbs Scale1 2150kv 12b maxed out scale. Scale2 2150kv 12b 6.85 lbs. If I do the math with the scale1 to scale2 offset 0.956 I get 7.16 lbs. 7.16 lbs lines up with RC castles 3.4 kg. I’ll know maybe tomorrow how she flies and if I get the same flight times or not.
@@robodragonsdf1 this is good news. I ordered a set of Xfly 80mms just as a place holder for the next flight they also registered at 3.4kg I will see how they perform and then when I have the capital I will be upgrading to those fans
rudder and aileron mix. My plane was drifting because even though I had set it up neutral, on the taxi test It was originally pulling to the left so to correct this I trimmed the rudder to the right. the ailerons and rudders were slaves to each other so when it got trimmed it altered the neutral position of the flight control surfaces and it resulted in the ailerons and elevons also being trimmed right. I have since disabled such a set up but that was likely why it was so bad
Hello josiahhh! Greetings from brazil! Im bulding a rc t-27 (military training airplane) and I was trying to buy rcgauges artificial horizon just like yours, but their site is off, don’t know what happened… Well, I would like to contact you so that maybe I could buy it from you! It would be so good for my project, please, take it in consideration, I’m the first of my country that is doing something like this: FPV, gimbal from fpv combat and a gasoline engine. Hope you see this comment! My next step will be dragon link transmitter and receiver, which unlocks 50km range!!! Bye, best regards.
Mine broke unfortunately. I've been meaning to make one like that but the best I've been able to do is make a half cooked display that only shows Airspeed and altitude
Cool like your passion for the f 14 .
It was my first love lol. More content coming after I graduate from OCS and move to FL
Love Ft. Monroe, growing up there was fun.
now that it's been decommissioned its a great place to fly!

This is incredible! You’ve got to start a PATREON!
Coming soon. Gonna have to get more content but soon haha.
Amazing video. Such a great setup!
Thank you!
The RC Gauges display looks great! Good debrief, very informative. Looking forward to the redemption flight!
coming soon!
Awesome vid brocki!
thanks dude!
How does this not have more views??
Thats a good question lol! feel free to share with friends to help that view count go up!
Wow. If you could ever get the ADI to be real time accurate and perhaps a heading input... that thing could go up at night.
