    So many people lack cooking skills that people once had. I made a large pot of Tuscan white bean soup with clearance (actual) sourdough bread for about $5.00 because I used a bag of dry beans and inexpensive vegetables. Tonight, I made ground chicken teriyaki bowls with organic free-range ground chicken, veg and frozen peas I had on hand, and greens I grew in my garden over the winter. Even with the expensive meat, the dinner cost about $10. I used my instant pot to cook brown rice that I’m using in dishes for the next several days.

      Sounds like you have a good handle on keeping your meals low cost.

    2x a day.I do tuna and hard boiled eggs (a friend brings me) for protein, add canned sweet peas hot sauce and grated cheese, I live on the road so cooking is not possible, cost is more then I would like but possible ....when I get a place I will do meal prep, you have such creative and great ideas

    The high light for me is the fact that you went back into the grocery store to purchase the item. God bless you for that. I am always looking for ways to improve my diet. Seems like I am failing. But at the moment I feel I need to ditch the sugar. I hear sugar helps cancer grow. But there is a catch, I don't like the things they use instead of sugar. So much to learn.

      lol I can't believe I didn't pay for the chicken at first lol. Have you ever tried monk fruit as a sugar alternative?

    Its crazy bc through my 30s I ate fairly healthy but once I got close to 40 and had a kid, the comfort foods passively took a hold of me. I know it sounds basic but when you said eating pizza bc its easy, I shook my head bc I fell into this trap and am jus shaking my head sometimes. On better track these days as I am trying to be more conscious of my fiber and water intake, and most of all staying away form cheap refined sugars.

    Brilliant video. Hope you can make more like this one 🤞
    I try my best to eat whole food as much as I can.
    My current favourite afternoon snack is an apple + a hard boiled egg 😅

    Love the video. I was wondering when you create these meals/plans on your channel, are they for both men and women? Or do adjustments need to be made for men, since I know my husband tends to eat more than I do?

    • @laceybaier_
      @laceybaier_  2 місяці тому +1

      They do tend to be more geared for women, though women vary as well. I'd recommend adding more protein to your husband's meal plan - but you can also try it out, and see if you're still hungry :). OR you can always calculate your macros so you know exactly what each of you needs to maximize your goals (I have a video on how to do that here: ua-cam.com/video/zaFQ99rRRz4/v-deo.html).

    These all look amazing! I know what I’m prepping next week! 🎉 Did the price per meal account for the cost of the protein powder? Or is that omitted to allow for a protein powder of one’s choosing? ❤

    • @laceybaier_
      @laceybaier_  2 місяці тому

      It did not account for the protein powder - as that is going to vary greatly in which protein you prefer. It was a hard decision to make, however lol. The protein I use is cleanish protein which is $2.15 per serving, which is less than a lot of protein out there, but not as cheap as the lower quality, bulk options.

    Chips are absolutely not cheaper. They have risen to crazy amounts. Buy a bag of potatoes and some popcorn kernels instead. Potatoes = real food. Popcorn = snack fix.

    Eat healthy before starting a grocery shopping trip.. Bring a list...stick to the list. Stick to the OUTSIDE perimeter of the store. This is the healthy veggies, protein and dairy. I prefer to shop in stores I know the layout. I don't browse or wonder nearly as much. I don't spend much time in stores ( walmart) that block my view beyond the isle I am walking in. This is very strategic and I am not having it
