I agree with Jaydee. You gotta understand that making hardstyle itself is different from making other genres. Its the hardest, most intricate, and time consuming genre to produce, where a simple kickdrum can take more hours to make than the whole track. They do this because they love it, and they want to share their passion with others. Period.

As heady said, styles change, changing is a part of life. And he couldn't be more right. The kicks melodies of now weren't available back then and honestly a mix between good melodies and a hard ass kick is my perfect hardstyle song.

This is hardstyle at it finest. In some weird way these kind of song's took me away on a mental journey, a story. These days hardstyle is more messy, less organised in sounds, no reverse bass, the build up sucks for most songs ( if there even is any ) it doesn't give me the ''story vibe'' anymore.
I still like it, but it's lost it's magical touch it had between 09'-13' imo.
True shit. I stopped listening to hardstyle altogether just because of that fact. I used to listen to hardstyle all the time until something-one thing that I can't place my finger on-ruined it for me.

***** Yea i know exactly what you mean. It's really hard to explain in plain words what is that different or missing. It just kinda lost it's touch what made hardstyle unique imo. I caught myself headbanging and feeling it when it's hardstyle from a few years back. So somehow that era was the best sound for me.

I think that a producer is commercial when he makes music, but 'does it' for the money, and not real for the love for the music. Now for example vamper is not commercial in my opinion, since he doesn't earn a living with his music, but he still keeps on going. I don't think that this track commercial of course, and year of summer is still hardstyle, but it's liked because the track is not very hard indeed, but the vocals etc are also a main part why top-40 people like it
