That 3rd bolt on the starter is TERRIBLE! Midas made their money because i couldn't get that beotch out on mine when i had to change it. What a drag. Nice channel! Hard work!
@@bstfordchannel923 i had the first two out and could not budge the third. Had to put the two back in and get the starter to bump again to drive it to them. All after wrestling it in the driveway for half a day. Yay

Hey Bro, I did the same thing to a 1971 Galaxie500, swapped out FMX for a 4 speed then had to fab up a hydraulic clutch system from an 85' F-350, including the slave cylinder bracket... Wat a Beeacth but I got it done :) Love watching your 5 speed swap out... I want to do the same on my P71
5speed is waaaay cooler in a Gaxlaxie ..Man I must admit to that.. And you got down swapping stuff from a F350... I coming across a few things do to the car was oily and old a bit..so again sourcing parts as we speak... the trans is out, the fn rear main seal is a issue...The thing has a oil slinger that no parts store has... So I will check dealer and see.. Thats what i am dealing with Danny
@@bstfordchannel923 Try NAPA for 'Dealer Only Parts" great quality at NAPA... But you pay for it :) Also see if you can do the rear main seal while you have everything off... You can almost bet it will start leaking after you button the thing back up!
@@bstfordchannel923 Oh, and my Galaxie500, I ended up using a drive shaft out of a 1980 E-350 AT&T repair van. It was the only drive line that didn't twist on me :) Loves me the Junk Yards!

They have the seal but not the ( oil slinger RING seal ) so i have to wait and wait... That is the hold up at the moment.. Dakotas got motor in just need a good 5 speed for it the stock nv3500 wont take the power this motor makes also stock rear has to go 8&1/4 for a 9 inch swap.Either have time not enough $ or no time & plenty $.I live near OC.Md salt air kills 💩 here.Htf a rustfree anything vehicles here are rusting in 4-5yrs.from new.

1:58 I think my '04 Vic has that same gear oil leak. It's been leaking since 2012. Lol Just a few drips every few months. I top up the fluid periodically. But, I'm too lazy to fix it. How would I fix that? Remove the drive shaft, remove that big nut, install a new seal?
if its in the front ( leaking like mine ) remove the nut and pinion change the seal ( there is a shim ) maqke sure you install it back how you had it ( and tq down ), But me have to tear it all down At least you check and top off that would be a great video... even small stuff like breaks ect would be cool addition to your channel

I know your pain on that cross member I've taken two out Trust me when it goes back in I'm sanding it and putting plenty of lubrication on it so if I ever have to drop it again I don't have to go through days of banging on it to get it to release

@@bstfordchannel923 nice. Did you make that spacer or did you order it. And other than all the clutch parts and hydraulics and the pedal is that all you need to fit the transmission itself
get all the parts you need trans, trans plate, clutch kit , flywheel, flywheel bolts, t45 yoke for drive shaft and drive shaft spacer.. do your clutch pedal first to get that out the way.. if done at your home a weekend solid to do it..

I found out that the tension on the e-brake will make it harder to remove that cross member so block the wheel and release the ebrake
ohhh yeah , thats thing makes it tough for sure... But my issue was the cross memebr being a pain... The rust just fused it together it seem...

yes it will fit this car has a t45 in it with a drive shaft spacer... 3650 trans does not need a drive shaft spacer
