Great video Jimmy, love the review style format and it's nice to hear more about the driving experience. Honestly I'd watch a video like this on each car in your collection!
As a big VW guy, naturally my absolute ALL-TIME dream car has always been a 930 or 964 911. With skyrocketing prices though, I’ll have to get lucky and find a good deal on one that needs a lot of work, otherwise I’ll likely never be able to afford a clean one. If only I would have found a way to buy one 10-15+ years ago when they could be found for $12k all day long.
I’ve never had much of an interest in Porsche until you got this car. This thing has such an amazing look and you guys did a phenomenal job bringing it back to life. Also this video style is awesome, I would watch you review cars all day long.
I'm a VW guy at heart, that's why this is one of my favourite cars that you own. The look of it is amazing it just needs that Jimmy O flavour, and it's already getting that.
I can't wait to watch this thing become what it's going to be. Yeah, I wish they were cheaper, too. We all would have one. Such a sick looking car, man. Congratulations, again! 🤙🏻
That road you were on when you said it was surprising you, is what that car was built for. Back-road barn-stormer.. Don't need the big power to have fun... If anything, more than 350 hp will spoil it for the drive it hard experience.. More power means silly speed to have some fun pushing it on down the road. It works, looks good, sounds good and is really fun to drive. Really hope you spend more time driving it than modding it. /edit, just saw your end goal bit.. I love that your plan is to keep it reasonably powered(and at 350 matches my earlier comment 😁).. It's so good to see someone do something that makes sense for a daily fun car rather than the crazy power many go for.
So far one of my favourite videos series , my mom always wanted a Porsche . I for years tried to get her a 944 and she passed in July before I could make that dream come true . The Porsche content gives me that few minutes of dreaming of what I’d do with a Porsche for my ma ❤
This sounds very similar to why I love my E30. It is slow and doesn't snap your head back. But the drive is SO FUN and it snaps necks WAY more then I ever thought it would.
A feature video of each individual car would be sick. You don't see too many people showing where the car came from to where it's at now. Those roller shots were on point.
Don’t let this one sit in the Oakes build purgatory. This one deserves to be driven and on camera as much as it can be cause no one makes good content with these things
Dude, just love this ride. Only saw you with Adam until this car arrived. Honestly love your channel, but since I was a little boy, Porsche has been my jam. One day, one day
Uses to work on classic VW's and porsche's for a living, and I can honestly say these era porsche's are the best cars I've ever had the pleasure of driving!
Happy G model owner here just smiling as I see the prices go up and more people embracing the G model when they used to turn their back on it! Mines a 77 euro spec with a 3.0, a whale tail, and painted in copper brown metallic.
It warms my heart to see the enjoyment for the P car. The smiles make it worth every penny. Big time regretting not grabbing Grant for a convo at LS fest though since hes reppin the shirt and I got to see him rip the circle track
Got a 1991 3.3 Turbo had it for 22years still get a buzz every time I drive it . Has a very distinct smell on entry warm oil smell mixed with petrol fumes interior smell .. Yes I can relate head whipping from passer byes ..
Can verify the attention! I have a 67 Mustang that sounds pretty sweet and everybody loves it! You drive it and you get necks being broken a lot of the time. It's awesome seeing the positive reactions, but as someone that has crippling anxiety at times, you wish like you could drive it without the attention at times lol. Weird feeling.
i think the interior looks amazing as is. should just take it to get everything reupholstered and swap the switch panel with one of those tiny digital panels for the link and keep the original cluster, just get it wired up to work.
Keep the blue interior! They’re already few and far between, it’s just that added wow touch especially because you may not notice it at first because it is a darker blue
You should make this a series with every car in the shop, make a playlist and each car gets its own video just like this. Would be so cool to be able to see all the ‘finished’ cars!
Such a beautiful car! These old Porsches are just so unmatched. And honestly I’d love more videos like this on some of your other cars too! Nice change of pace.
This was great! What you're experiencing is the joy of a (mostly) analog car. There is NOTHING like driving classic cars that don't have all the nannies, babysitters, and computers. Just you and the car! I'd almost not paint it. When a car has wear, you drive and enjoy it more. I LOVE this car!
The 964 is my favorite Porsche to look at. Never even sat in one, but I've always wanted one. Now I want to see another P car. Is the 944 the new S chassis??? I'd love to see one of those on the channel.
You should do this review style video for all your cars. Nice change of pace from regular content and it lets us see you actually driving some of your cars.
Good content. You guys should def do this with all the cars. Would be a great update maintenance series. Please like so they’ll see it
That would actually be perfect
Yea and a great excuse to drive them all!
Man.....that Porsche deserves all the love. What a absolute work of art. Beautiful ride. I can't get enough of it.
Also, I wouldn't hate to see one or two turbos in the engine compartment ;)
I'm a big 911 guy from the beginning of life,Jimmy I love what you are doing so far, just TURBO her and let her fly
@@shermanelliott5730I'm with him ^^ lol. Full send Jimmy O style. 💪
@@SteveTheBeardedWonder dudes who drive mazda 3's can't comment on Porches. Turbo(s) will make it too quiet
@@Justinhomii dudes who make dumbass videos opinions don't matter either, like yours. thanks for giving everyone your input on turbos bozo
Jimmy, please do some more videos like this with your cars. It's nice to see them actually being driven, enjoyed and not just built.
Thissss. A roadtrip with the bois maybe.
I want this from all his cars! so entertaining to watch!
Car of the month deep dive. Same format as this. 🎉
I agree!
My favorite part of this car is the blue interior!
Great video Jimmy, love the review style format and it's nice to hear more about the driving experience. Honestly I'd watch a video like this on each car in your collection!
So true, especially where his driving level is now !
Everything you said is why I love my miata. Also why I want a Porsche

Good choice bud looks awesome and sounds great.
One of the best cars ever made! This has been a really cool refresh
The smile on your face while driving tells me everything I need to know!
Please do this on more of the cars!!
That Porsche is beautiful
That 964 represents everything good about my childhood and I'm here for all the content.
Dude a video of you just out enjoying a car, such a badass vibe man. Keep it up.
This is such a Jimmy Oakes car and only something that he could own. It’s one of if not my favorite car on UA-cam!
Give the editor a raise, because the images driving the Porsche and the music were wonderful. Plese,do more of this stuff. Gave me peace of mind
Props to Austin, this is a great edit and broken up really well to keep engaged. Great job!
I'm a VW guy at heart, that's why this is one of my favourite cars that you own. The look of it is amazing it just needs that Jimmy O flavour, and it's already getting that.
I am glad Jimmy was the one who ended up with it, because he was the more suitable care taker of this legendary car.
I can't wait to watch this thing become what it's going to be. Yeah, I wish they were cheaper, too. We all would have one. Such a sick looking car, man. Congratulations, again! 🤙🏻
"My Japanese Wide Body 964"....Bet you'd never thought you'd say that?? I can't hate. Thank you for rescuing this beautiful machine.
This video was more refreshing than a glass of water after being lost in the desert, you killed it Austin on this video
That road you were on when you said it was surprising you, is what that car was built for.
Back-road barn-stormer.. Don't need the big power to have fun... If anything, more than 350 hp will spoil it for the drive it hard experience..

Dude the color of this car is so good, when light hits you can actually see the blue tone, and oh man is it good. A piece of art.
Love this style of video man - would be great to see more of these!
Re living this build gives me the realization this was a solid refresh for sure 💯
That Porsche is a serious vibe! It deserves a little more power!
So far one of my favourite videos series , my mom always wanted a Porsche . I for years tried to get her a 944 and she passed in July before I could make that dream come true . The Porsche content gives me that few minutes of dreaming of what I’d do with a Porsche for my ma ❤
Jimmy is the type of owner this Porsche deserves!
This sounds very similar to why I love my E30. It is slow and doesn't snap your head back. But the drive is SO FUN and it snaps necks WAY more then I ever thought it would.
"keep me clean, alive and running.. pls.." Great scope for the P-car, Jim!
A feature video of each individual car would be sick. You don't see too many people showing where the car came from to where it's at now. Those roller shots were on point.
My dad had a 993 that I got to drive here and there and watching this made me reminisce on that car; really miss the sound track and feel of that car
Seeing the smile that car brought to your face genuinely makes me happy and smily love the vids
One day, one day
Jimbo, both hands on the wheel when raging the backroads! Also get some good tires for the thing and take it to the track like she deserves
Great video Jim! I'd actually love to watch you make videos like this with more of your collection!
Dude that Porsche is absolutely Gorgeous! Definitely found the right home for it .
You tearing into all your cars is the biggest reason I watch!
By far my favorite channel! You and the boys are killing it!!
Porsche Content is crazyyy, glad you are back to the VW roots baby!! We need a reprint of the shirts and hoodies too...
All the love! Thank you for inspiring and sharing your love with us!

Well done video, dig the format. Honestly and smooth edits shheech
My uncle had an 88 carrera and it made me fall in love with old air cooled Porsches. I’d definitely love to own one sooner or later
You rock. The Porsche is sick. 😮loving the content. Can get enough watched every single one I’m up to date. It’s like I’m actually there.
What a work of art, man that thing has such a road presence! an absolute dream. Cannot wait to see the progression on this car.
It warms my heart to see the enjoyment for the P car. The smiles make it worth every penny. Big time regretting not grabbing Grant for a convo at LS fest though since hes reppin the shirt and I got to see him rip the circle track

A1 video! Editing was pretty slick & it’s a banger of a video anytime Grant is around!!
CT backroads are sooo good, i went up there for a big subaru event in june and it was so fun to drive those roads
Oh my Lord man. This car is absolutely stunning. I’m currently pursuing one. Hopefully by the end of the year I can add this car to my fleet. 🤞🤞
A Porsche always puts a smile on your dial
Can verify the attention! I have a 67 Mustang that sounds pretty sweet and everybody loves it! You drive it and you get necks being broken a lot of the time. It's awesome seeing the positive reactions, but as someone that has crippling anxiety at times, you wish like you could drive it without the attention at times lol. Weird feeling.
I really enjoyed this video, the "review" format really works. Would love to see something like this for your other, more unique, cars!
i think the interior looks amazing as is. should just take it to get everything reupholstered and swap the switch panel with one of those tiny digital panels for the link and keep the original cluster, just get it wired up to work.
Definitely need to hit the dragon in it!!
Love the informative side of this video, and of course the Porsche is just👌🏼
I love all the happiness and the gauges are not moving at all🤣Can’t wait to see Spoons work on the exhaust!
Keep the blue interior! They’re already few and far between, it’s just that added wow touch especially because you may not notice it at first because it is a darker blue
Watching you go from building the 300 to watching you build a porshe is crazy. Keep up the good work Jimmy.
Vicariously watched this one. Banger. Ive been on this channel since day one. Best channel on youtube imo. Keep goin strong, it is inspiring.
Killing the content Jimmy, there is always a great mix of videos with all of your cars and always information throughout keep up the amazing work.
The editing, the content, the feel of this video is just ✨️immaculate✨️
As a 997 owner I agree with 90% of what you mentioned in this video. I absolutely love it. enjoy
Of all the builds, this is the one I’m most excited for!! LFG Jimmy!!!
Dudee i think those OEM door cards look sick! I love the blue leather.
Good to see. Hopefully get to sit in it soon. Throw some dynamat down when you do the interior.
There is a clear spray you can use on the outside of the casing to seal it.
"God Arm" Jim, hittin the touge 😂
Most gangster car you own. Hands downs!
Big up, dawg!
Jimmy's come such a long way, thank you for everything🖤 you really help get through.
You should make this a series with every car in the shop, make a playlist and each car gets its own video just like this. Would be so cool to be able to see all the ‘finished’ cars!
Jimmy! You should hit up the NightRide boys and get new floor mats through their guy. They are sweet! Porche is looking beautiful!
That’s a great looking car congratulations! The Porsche 964 is a happy place to be ❤
Jimmy & Rudnik on the backroads =🔥🔥🔥
Really looking forward to following this build.
I'm hyped for the history video. I love used cars and learning their past uses and lifes.
just watched dut's video of him driving his porche on ToD and I'm now watching you drive yours... incredible cars
Best kind of car to own is one we’re kids love it. Always makes my day!
To add. Get a cayenne to tow this to the track.
Let’s go watching some Jimmy before a road trip to a concert. Let’s gooo boys
Let us proceed
Such a beautiful car! These old Porsches are just so unmatched. And honestly I’d love more videos like this on some of your other cars too! Nice change of pace.
Jeez Jim! I NEVER EVER thought that driving a JDM widebodied air-cooled manual Porsche would be fun. when it sounds like the complete opposite
Love this style video, Jimmy! Excited to see the progression of the 964.

Now I want to see another P car. Is the 944 the new S chassis??? I'd love to see one of those on the channel.
Floormounted pedals are sooo comfy! Especially if you've got long legs.
I need a video like this for every car you have
Coming from a Porsche tech, those engine are insanely durable. Supercharge that thing, its such a nice power band with a small Eaton.
Grant's face when you admitted you were doing thr Half-Cage/Pole Positions combo was priceless
You should do this review style video for all your cars. Nice change of pace from regular content and it lets us see you actually driving some of your cars.
I dig the review style of this one, very good James, very good ..
that mezger engine is a thing of beauty
Austin’s laugh makes my entire week
I'd rock an Borg Warner airwerks s363 sx-e turbo probably the most advanced turbo that don't need coolant
Great video! I love the edits and the story style of the video. I can't wait for the history of it!
That’s why I love my 91 civic EF hatchback 5 speed. Although it only has 100hp maybe. It’s so fun to rip on it an cruise around.
Word that's my hood those roads are sick I ride my motorcycle out there all the time
