Not necessarily. I'd say they could've benefitted from still making Alice the main focus of the movies and not tie it with the games at all. Just imagine that what happenes in the movies is parallel to the games events and makes perfect sense in lore without ruining the game characters and adding to the lore. That would've been so much better.

Yes, you cant just stand there with that type of weapon moving around your vicinity and why those weapons in their training involves feet work which is practiced in form to be formless later. Love them types of tools and carry that particular one on me all the time. Not the chain linked, the other one with iron ball and shank hook. One move when chain whips back is the turn around about face around the neck of next extension or whip out. I like to end up final motion of grappling around neck for take down, serious follow up motion . Many cool moves as well, you just dont sit there throwing out that whip.
