The electronics in the companionway is a Garmin ECHOMap UHD 63cv Fish Finder/Chartplotter Combo unit. It came with a transducer, but I only use the chart plotter capability. You can find them on Amazon for about $500 or West Marine for ~ $450. It has preloaded depth maps of US lakes which are pretty accurate. I have one on my pontoon boat with the transducer installed. Since it is GPS based, it shows you speed, heading, depth, time, water temp (if the transducer is installed), etc. It also displays a contour map of the lake bottom so you see a preview of the depth of water WHERE YOU ARE HEADED, in addition to where you are at. It also has a programmable alarm for different readings. Since I have a fin keel, it reduces my stress! It is mounted on an OC Mount RAM Double 6" Swing Arm with a vertical mount to allow me to easily swing it out of the way when I need to enter the cabin. It works very well and I'm really pleased with it.
I don't have a link. The bags came installed on the boat from Catalina as standard equipment. I don't know if they sell them direct through a dealer. You might want to check with a Catalina dealer.
We are looking to relocate to the Seneca area. We have a Catalina 22 swing keel. Is there a marina on the lake that we can keep our boat at? Either in a slip or on trailer with mast up? It seem most cater to power boats .
There are two marinas on the lake. One on the southeastern end, and one on the north part of the lake. The north marina is fairly new and just installed their covered docks. I don't know what they are planning for their services. The southern one is more designed for power boats and I'm not sure I have ever seen a sailboat there. Most of the sailboats are located at the Keowee Sailing Club, which is a private club with their own docks. It is a member owned club which has slips and parking locations for trailered boats so you don't have to lower your mast. The club waiting list is pretty long, so if you are thinking that might be a solution, you might want to get on their waiting list. They are at www.keoweesailingclub.com. Good luck!
Looks like a ton of fun 👍🏼 I’d like something a bit bigger, mostly so I could rig up a bimini for some sun protection, thx for the video 🤙🏼
You camera angle is awesome and the sound of the water and wind is so relaxing!!
The GoPro mount is connected to the stern pulpit by a 24 inch SS post. Easy to mount and remove quickly.
@@barryvhess Thank you for the camera tip!!

Great video! Could you provide some info on the electronics setup in the companionway?

I live in Pickens. I’ve been thinking about getting into sailing and starting small. I’m gonna follow your channel to see your videos.
Do you have a link to the halyard bags?
