i've left a comment here once before but this video has been on my brain since the moment i saw it. i'm obsessed with everything and i've probably rewatched it 30 times now, no exaggeration. the detail in everything, you summarize all the events of BBL extremely well in 4 minutes without feeling like you left anything extreme out at all. the usage of cuts & cinematic shots and the **timing** for all of the lines. you capture everyone's Moments exactly as they should be. i *especially* adore the placing of the line "the rat died." it first shows up with hiyoko, when she dies, and ryouta finds her. but then again, with nageki, recounting how he died with a *SMILE.* BECAUSE HE KNOWS HE DIED FOR THE RIGHT REASONS. it makes me so emotional. "the rat was dead," when ryouta is consumed by the virus. then when kazuaki is revealed, the lines used are *perfect*. and then, "the rat was dead," to signify his acceptance. and finally, at the end, the line is actually "a democrat died," but it uses the same "demoku*ratto ga shinde ita*" in japanese, and it's so fitting for ryouta sealing himself away for the good of others. this animatic draws out the parallels between ryouta & nageki so well to me. nageki sacrificed himself for the right reasons, to prevent the charon virus to be used for evil. and ryouta does the same thing, moments later, sealing himself away with the fading ghost of nageki (who really, surely is to enter the spirit world moments later) and the spirit of hiyoko. yuuya & sakuya get their own light as they rightfully deserve, but i'm so glad that the line "the rat was dead" wasn't used for these two, because while they have such a deep and meaningful story, it doesn't quite... hit the same? it feels different, in a way, but i can't describe why. the lyrics used for them make *more sense* to me than if any other lyrics were used. and the way you show sakuya's expressions through the entire thing is *priceless.* because you can still clearly see ryouta in shock in the background, but sakuya? PERFECT. anghel & okosan are shown!!! and tbh, even the game doesn't take them that seriously nor give them that much time, so it makes so much sense that they don't get that much here. but the end credits scene+when anghel shows up (ALSO SAKUYA'S FACE WHEN THAT DOES HAPPEN. SPOT ON.) shuu is portrayed so perfectly here. because he's clearly the villain, he IS the villain. he's in the wrong 100%. but he's still got his own story to tell. his motivations. the part with isa & ryuuji is just perfect to me. NOT TO MENTION ALL OF THE ART IS BEAUTIFUL. ESPECIALLY FOR HOW MANY PICTURES YOU HAD TO DRAW TO MAKE THIS??? overall. i enjoy this IMMENSELY. i feel like i rambled on a lot but i really truly loved this. your art, this animatic, it's amazing. i might be two years late but. it's delightful. thank you for posting.
4 years ago when I started playing hatoful boyfriend BBL and came accross an AMV of The Rats Died featuring Danganronpa characters, I thought, "This song would fit the overall BBL route. Too bad I don't have enough drawing and video editing skill. I wish someone would make it." I still can't believe I finally find this video. I'm so happy. Thank you for making this m(_ _)m
I am honestly so grateful that the game is getting the recognition it deserves. This is honestly so beautiful and captures all the events in the main story extraordinarily well!

I just finished the game so i am incredibly happy to see this video! This perfectly encapsulates the horror of BBL. I'm absolutely in love with this story. Who would have thought this unassuming game about romancing birds of all things would have such an engaging and fucked up lore?
@@Kayta-LindaI couldn’t finish it because I got confused on how to get every ending. But I did about half the routes. I did Nageki first, which broke me. I then did Ryouta who I found bittersweet, but for some reason I decided to do Shuu next. Sakuya was the my breath of fresh air, he’s my favorite. And the last route I did was Anghel who I grinded for, I knew it was going to be weird/confusing but I didn’t expect it to be…that. Nearly forgot to mention, I have a very basic understanding of darker plot despite not playing from me getting curious on the wiki.
@@Crystre Hm. Not quite sure what exactly you’re confused about. The roster is right there, you just go for each of them in succession. Even if you don’t answer every question perfectly, it’s not that hard to get enough for an ending. Especially when you even did Anghel… Great choice of favorite, btw. He may not be mine, but he *is* objectively the best character. (Mine is Shuu 😅) And yes, I am definitely judging you for looking stuff up. Obviously. Maybe you’d consider finishing it after all? If you need some advice, not a problem, just ask.
I wanted to play this because there was obviously going to be some actual lore behind the dating aspects. Although, I don't think some of my friendships will be the same since all they care to understand is I'm playing a bird dating Sim. However, my question is why and how the heck can bird plot be so much more traumatizing than anything else I've played Like I'm comparing to Omori at this point- I am once again losing my sanity Im straying from the point- this is an amazing animatic bro, keep up da good work 👌👌👌
