    Super Munchie does an excellent job! I love watching it completely wipe out stumps 😊. It makes me wonder what kind of inventions will be around in the next 50 years.I can't believe I am in awe of a machine.

    You dont use the edge of the mulcher that much, can you move the cutter teeth from the edges to the middle to save you some money?

      Huh? That job was crying out for a stump grinder with carbide teeth. I’m not talking about one of the toy grinders, but a commercial grade unit. It would be faster and grinder a lot more of the stump. The last one I used could reach 18” below grade. This property owner will have holes in his landscape as the leftover wood below grade rots away over the next few years.

    I seriously think you are lucky to have the use of the TMC mulcher Davin, I don’t think any other mulcher can handle these stumps like the TMC! I’ve watched videos on mulchers and this one seems to be the most durable and quickest recovering mulcher !

      We are only grinding the stumps next to the ditch as to dig them up would destroy the ditch banks. All the other stumps are being removed. By grinding the tops of the stumps next to the ditch we are leaving the root systems in tact so that will hold the ditch banks together until new vegitation can grow that will reduce erosion.

    Hey dude i love the munchie vlogs but just one thing !
    When you are mulching stumps you put the head down the stump
    to fast and it stops the head turning or slows it right down and you have to back off
    If you lower it down very slowly it will keep turning and get threw the wood better 👍

    It might be easier to drill a hole and light a fire in the stump. Most of it would be burnt out below the ground. I've found this to be a very effective method for clearing stumps.

    Work on a farm for 20 years my main job was flailing Road sides ditches and hedges the flail mower had 4 belts on it and yes tell tail signs that belts are on way out oh yes and on a farm there are loads of belts on most equipment plus I've somehow got a mechanics background oops

    Is it expensive to replace the grinding teeth?

    • @2wwwilly
      @2wwwilly 9 місяців тому +1

      Very ex ..couple of hundreds depends diamond,carbide ,or tungsten . .normal wear you just sharpen with grinder or reversal teeth on some models..😅😅😅 as well straight shaft teeth cost 3-5k 😅😅

    • @rwhit7926
      @rwhit7926 9 місяців тому

      They aren’t as expensive as you might think. Growing up my grandfather always told me a knife is useless if doesn’t have a sharp edge.

  • @slamsshenanigans2296
    @slamsshenanigans2296 9 місяців тому +1

    I was gonna say I thought you were stalling the head more than normal so was thinking they were hard.
    What’s the advantage/disadvantage to starting low and working up vs top down Davin?

  • @sic22l
    @sic22l 9 місяців тому

    I think dry dirt/stones/clay was the one that chewed up the teeth, there was a lot of it around the stumps.

    IS it considered efficient to grind stumps with a drum mulcher? Since it kills the teeth how do you charge for a job like this? Price per stump?

    • @ToeTag1968
      @ToeTag1968 9 місяців тому +1

      I mean, if that's the tool you have, it seemed like it did a good job. But the Fecon Stumpex is fun to see in action, too :)

    • @rwhit7926
      @rwhit7926 9 місяців тому

      Depending on the stump grinder this is much more efficient. When you go subsoil depending on your terrain you might run carbides in the center.

      When bidding a job you look at time, area and the biggest thing is wear on your knives. Anyone as seasoned as Davin knows and accounts for all these things. Main priority is achieving the end result the client is looking for.
