I love the fact that, V is the humanity of Vergil, and he says that he wants to be protected and loved. So i think that deep inside Vergil, he wants to have someone who cares for him. That's so sweet.
Its telling us that thats basically what makes a human, i do find it a little emo but its actually really beautiful, well vergils thing was always a little emo though.
After watching all the V's cutscenes I realized how much care he has for his son Nero, and how much admiration he has for his brother Dante. V, as the remaining humanity of Virgil, was dying. And this entire game was about how Virgil redeem himself with a very limited time. V's scene with Trish was particularly clever and moving as V represent Virgil confess to Trish who resembles of the mother. What he has done wrong. His wishes to be forgiven.
Dante's itching to get back into the fight with Urizen, but V appears to be enjoying time with his brother without the need to prove himself. And I like to think he's almost ready to confess in this moment (45:26) how he knows what he did, who he really is, how he feels, either before it's too late for him, or perhaps asking to give him a chance to be a better brother despite their past and allow him to return to Vergil. But Dante rushes off before V can finish, and Urizen's crime is too steep for a fresh start, that Dante immediately turns hostile until Nero can step in

" And lil Vergil says "Fighting Dante is the best" "Then go and show him what you can do". They indeed bond over fighting, also because it was probably the only activity they shared as kids, being so different. That's why I reccomend the manga Visions of V. You get a huge confirmation on many things and about Vergil's psyche and soul. It's really sweet journey of self healing from trauma and integrating the shadow.

But going back to the underworld means more training for Virgil. And his competitive nature drives him to work hard and surpass Nero's demonic power.
What the fk is this? Vergil just got humbled with the realisation that he has limits. He is on par with dante and after being weakened fighting dante, nero beat him. Nero did not beat him because he was more powerful. The reason vergil is humbled as well is because he has a family member who does not wishes to see him die. In other words vergil got what he wanted. To be loved and protected. Something V explicitly said to trish Dmc fans need to quit trying to act smart as if everything needs an elaborate poetic explanation.

At that point, Nero is absolutely stronger than both of them, the difference is experience, of which Dante and Vergil still beat Nero, that I don't disagree with

If anyone gets the references then you would know most if not all of V's story has little hints and or nods to Blake and his works.
