Looks like your cartridge might be a little far back -- M44-7 at proper alignment on Technics headshell will be flush with the headshell front edge. 1200s come with a cartridge alignment tool, it's an L-shaped white plastic bit, some people think it's just for holding an extra cart. Dope tune!

Ta. So pushed right to the front?

@@beat-treat The front face of the cart should be flush with the front edge of the headshell. (Not pulled all the way forward to where the screws would be at the end of their travel.)

@@CT-ho6si . For scratch mixing you can angle the cart.

@@beat-treat Good lord no. I've been scratching for 25 years -- angling is the worst thing you can do to your records. A properly set up tonearm/cartridge combo will not skip. There is a process for setting the weight, tonearm height, and anti-skip correctly. Also using a level on your turntable to ensure it's 100% level is huge. DO NOT angle the cartridge ever, it's unnecessary at best and destroys your records and stylus at worst.

@@CT-ho6si . I been scratch mixing since 1985. Still use Stanton 500AL on one 1210.
