I work with Lord Dionysus and Lady Aphrodite. I really appreciate the video. You broke it down to the bare bones perfectly. I am semi-closeted, and can't have a traditional altar. I have a tin for Dionysus and a bag for Aphrodite. I give Them libations daily, as well as prayers. Dionysus' tin has images of grapes and wine. Aphrodite's bag (that I just added to today) has shells and clear quartz and lots of carnelian. (I hope my Lady likes carnelian. I felt drawn to it, and it was in a "mystery bag" with the shells and quartz.)
I'm a baby pagan who's been wanting to start deity work for a while now. I've been doing a lot of research into the Norse and Greek pantheons and they both really interest me! However, I live with a strict catholic family so it would be very difficult for me to set up an altar 😭
I feel bad, I'm in a really conservative home and I had to halt my learning journey, Loki and hades understand I can't really do much for em rn, but these videos might help

Although, a Cinnoman or Cotton candy smelling candle, (cough with the intent of giving it to Loki cough), or a Cypress one, (cough intent to give to hades cough), is a really good way of giving offerings while remaing under the radar in a conservative household!

Love this.. a lot of people in the Hellenic Polytheist community look down upon working with the gods, because they think that working with a god means you are putting yourself on the same level as a Devine being.. I would argue that, that is not the case.. I think of dirty work as having a lab partner, both parties put their energy into the project to achieve a common goal, they are still a god/goddess regardless of the situation. How is that in any way shape or form trying to claim oneself higher than the gods?.. I duunoo lol. Great video as always!
Well, you see, my question is always this: what exactly are you working on? If it's a specific project then I could see an argument for the usage of that word but if it's just what you want to say instead of using the word "worship" then I kinda have to question why you feel that way. Lunar, I need advice. Or anyone out there that is Kemetic as I am. I just communicated for the first time with Goddess Wenet last night. I'm a Kemetic man, and her sister Goddess Bastet has been with me all my life. The cat has been with me since childhood and has been my spirit guardian. Bast's call was very obvious. lol Very obvious that she's been calling me to her side. I have a shrine in her honor. Wenet hasn't been too obvious as Bast; but since learning about her I was fascinated. I thought her lore was beautiful and mysterious. And I always liked rabbits and found them to be a beautiful animal. I felt that Wenet/Wenut deserved more reconition like the rest of her kin. Finding a follower of hers online; and seeing their own shrine I decided to attempt to build one of my own and offer myself to her as a Follower last night. I spoke to her through her new shrine, gave her a offering of chocolate and wine. And asked for her to give me a sign that she accepted. She has not yet but after I communicated with her last night I felt a... rush? It felt like a adrenaline rush. A feeling of excitement, like I just sky dived and landed on the ground safely. I went into the garage to find a few things and I felt it way after I tried to commune with her. Is this normaI? DID Commune with my matron Goddess, Bast that I wish to work with her sister as well. I felt that Bast felt... just fine with it. I felt acceptence comming from her though. LIke she didn't mind if I would ask to work with her sister as well. Please note that this is my first attempt at trying to offer and work with another deity other than my matron Goddess, Bast. I don't know if the rush was comming from her or it was myself. But... it was intense. Please help; was this normal?

I want to add , if you have alot of deities if you are short in space putting them together in one altar works. With me, they have no issue because they are understanding.
That's what I do. I have an altar for the Gods and Goddesses of Asgard. And I have one for the Hellenic deities I worship. My living space isn't endless. I think the Gods are above getting miffed at being worshipped in the same spot. As long as the praxis is respectful.

These are great steps for preparing an alter, lots of great info, but I need advice as to how to Reach Out to a deity and invite it into your life. How do you know if a deity wants to work with you? How could You tell that your deity was or or wasn't pleased with the type of incense or offering you used? How did you find out that Aphrodite didn't like to work with Medusa, like what did you see to give you that indicator? How can you tell that they Do want to work with you? What specifically happened to give you the information about what you did pleased or displeased that deity? What signs or indicators will we see to give us this info? Thanks ☺.
I mentioned this to someone, so I'm just gunna copy and repost this answer because it will answer all your questions as well.... Best way to get a solid answer is through some kind of divination practice. Intuition plays a huge role as well with realizing what you are feeling when I certain presence is around, what kind of signs you've been seeing that may be out of the ordinary, certain animals that may become more apparent in your everyday life, etc. These things help out our intuition or at the very least, identifying certain energies around us to better direct us to our findings. This can lead to typing in answers like say "what deities have to deal with deer?" then a few will pop up. Research. Get a feel for each one. See if you're drawn to anything or anyone. If something feels right, that's when you trust your intuition and go to divination methods to attempt to contact the deity you believe to be calling to you. When you say for sure, the best thing I can tell you is, In order to be for sure like you asked, you need to fully trust yourself and your intuition for that to happen! But if you do, then great! Look for the signs, find the out of the ordinary, and place the pieces of the puzzle together until you see the complete picture. Deities don't make it easy for a reason, they test our intuition, they like to see growth! I hope some of this helped, but I will do something on this very soon as well!

I do not know if it is a problem of mine that stems from a misconception of the religion I profess, but I have always been afraid of angering the deities if I decided whom to turn to. Ever since I was a child, I have loved Egyptian deities, and Anubis was the first deity that made me love such an ancient religion. slowly, as I grew older, I became interested in Seth, Ra, Bastet, Sekhmet, Sobek and others, but I am afraid that by concentrating on one deity, I might anger the others... I know it may just sounds weird but yesterday where i was laying in bed i tried to call him and give me a sign. I'd use a form of communication. Pendulum, candle, incense, etc. Ask him personally within a protection circle if he's been wanting to work with you! It's a sure fire way to get an answer especially when you may be at a loss!
Hey you were asking about if people have some insights about what is going on earth wise with the Africa split on top tock, etc. Best way to describe it is how Robert Jordan starts his books the wheel of time series with being the the end of time but THE end of time, as in end of an era, the beginning of a new one. It not going to be one big massive event from what I heard but many smaller natural disasters, climate change, shift of earth shelves. You may want to check out what Edgar Cayce has to say about the changes that are coming. They don't want us to know everything about what is coming either. New York City gets either damaged by an earthquake and falls into the water or there massive destruction from a war... it is located on fault line. There are also some ascended master reincarnated for this shift that is happening. I was told to mention that there are going food shortages so if you been thinking of doing some gardening now is the time to start. If your interested in prepping a go bag is a good idea, an emergency medical kit and having necessary meds on hand, but must important make sure to have sealed water jugs on hand. The more people that get displaced the less people are going to be able to farm. I was also told the Sirians are coming.
When you evoke a deity and ask questions via a candle flame. Do you light the candle once and the flame will move per question? Or do you ask the question then light for the answer and you have to light it again for another question?
Let me do it in steps. First, you will want to be in a room that has little to no interference with air flow. I usually put a towel under the door while having the air/heat off and windows closed. This will minimize any kind of disruption or interference with wind or air flow in general. Second, create a protection circle around you and your candle. While creating the circle, your intent should be that you are creating that circle for protection and the only one that may enter is the deity you are trying to communicate with. Be sure to have all your objects in that protection circle as well before casting it, anything left on the outside of that circle can not be brought in after it has been created, otherwise, your circle will be broken. So just be sure to have everything you need inside the circle. Third, after it has been created, light the candle. Ask individual questions slowly. But make sure you get the answer that the deity you are trying to reach is actually there. So your first question should be for example, "Anubis, Are you here in the circle with me?", wait for response. Once you get confirmation you can then continue asking questions, slow, and wait for the answer in the flame. If the flame becomes wild, there is interference and I would close the circle immediately and try another time. So just pay attention to the flame and its little dancy dance within the circle Last but not least, close the circle after you have gotten what you have came for!
So I just started my alter to Amun-Ra. I was burning incense, sandlewood and had a yellow lemoncello candle burning, also have a vase that I painted dome years ago in yellows and oranges and gold and a bit of black....and ir has fake flowers in it but in his colors. Some are actually sun flowers. The incense holder has a sun on it and it is gold gir him. I have the tiniest glass with fresh water offered..Anyway, my question is... the ash on the incense curled in circles around itself over and over without falling..I've never seen ash do that...have you? Does it mean anything?...the smoke was going straight up so I'm pretty sure my offerings were accepted, I am just curious about the ash

Nnnnno. Not necessarily. I mean both of those animals deal with her, it was more or less a sign that she was with you or just her trying to get your attention. May have wanted you to contact her in general. But if they were mad, they wouldn't be sending you their sacred animals as a symbol of anger!

You are good to work with multiple from different ones. But I would at least ask both if they are okay working with each other. Some deities don't get along very well. So I would at least ask each one first through divination practices!

I will be doing a video on how he's helped. But remember, as I've stated in this video, not all deities are with people for the same reason. His energies are warm, fatherly, inviting, helpful, insightful, and so much more. He has helped me in spell work, he has helped me in astral projection, he has helped me just by merely being here and making his presence known. Their energy when felt at the right time, can really give you a sudden jolt. And Anubis does that with me a lot to make sure my motivation and positivity stays strong!

Plants are not closed practices, the use of them is only considered disrespectful if you use it disrespectfully and without acknowledging the origin of using it. Plants belong to the Earth, not people

I have both and used the palo santo every once in a while and liked it a lot but I decided to use the sage whenever I cleansed, could this be one the reasons why I feel like it has been harder to communicate and work with Dionysus?
Could be yes. Sage cleanses everything. It is still your home at the end of the day, so if youre using sage to cleanse and make the space neutral, then that is what you will get, neutral. Youll have to invite your deity back in to speak. But when using palo santo, you can get rid of everything negative and have the intent of keeping only your deity behind in the process. Which in turn will maintain your connection with your deity while you have just cast out all other energies!

Florida Water can be used in the process of cleansing. Scentless, comes in a spray usually, spray the area and cleanse with the mist of the Florida Water!
I do sound cleansing. It's cheap, all you need is a bell. It's also clean, very dorm and roommate friendly. Just don't ring the bell like crazy at night. Usually one or two dings can cleanse any small area.

Makes for bad connections. Meaning interference with the connection between you and your deity. The more different energies you have in there, the greater the chance of having something interfere with your communication and connection with your deity. But if you cleanse, you can neutralize it with sage and invite in the energies you'd like, being your deity and so on, or you can use Palo santo and keep the area positive, with the intent of leaving only your deities positive energy behind with you while you use the Palo santo to cleanse the area. Ultimately though, if you don't cleanse, you're less likely to communicate with the deity on a clear basis. Where as if you do, you have a clear, direct line to communicate with little to no interference.
@Watermelon There are many ways to cleanse and many things that can be used. Ie. lemon, salt or rosemary can be used for cleansing (choose depending on your personal practice). Some recipes: Add a few drops of lemon juice or lemon scented oil to water you are using to clean the floors. Add pinch of salt to the water you clean the floors, that's basically small exorcism. If you do sigils "paint" it on the floor with mop. Use scented candles for cleansing. Use atomizer to splash some water with scent or herbal infusion in it. Open windows and ask wind to cleanse your space. Be creative and don't give up. Where's will, there is solution :)
There are other types of people that practice Santería. Actually, considering how the religion works, I would argue that simply being Latino can't possibly be enough to justify using Palo Santo. Not every Latino person is initiated. My whole family on my mother's side is Puerto Rican and we're not initiated

Buddy, it's white sage that is used in indigenous practices and many indigenous people have already come forward and said that smudging is what's closed, not white sage. Sage is grown across the world and has been used by so many cultures for centuries. Don't spread misinformation. You cannot fucking gatekeep a plant

I've already watched your other deity videos, but I agree research can be overwhelming by yourself when you're a beginner. I'm excited because I used my pendulum for the first time to speak with Hekate. (And I remembered your tips, like ask at least 3X for confirmation)

Love this.. a lot of people in the Hellenic Polytheist community look down upon working with the gods, because they think that working with a god means you are putting yourself on the same level as a Devine being.. I would argue that, that is not the case.. I think of dirty work as having a lab partner, both parties put their energy into the project to achieve a common goal, they are still a god/goddess regardless of the situation. How is that in any way shape or form trying to claim oneself higher than the gods?.. I duunoo lol. Great video as always!
Well, you see, my question is always this: what exactly are you working on? If it's a specific project then I could see an argument for the usage of that word but if it's just what you want to say instead of using the word "worship" then I kinda have to question why you feel that way. Lunar, I need advice. Or anyone out there that is Kemetic as I am. I just communicated for the first time with Goddess Wenet last night. I'm a Kemetic man, and her sister Goddess Bastet has been with me all my life. The cat has been with me since childhood and has been my spirit guardian. Bast's call was very obvious. lol Very obvious that she's been calling me to her side. I have a shrine in her honor. Wenet hasn't been too obvious as Bast; but since learning about her I was fascinated. I thought her lore was beautiful and mysterious. And I always liked rabbits and found them to be a beautiful animal.
I felt that Wenet/Wenut deserved more reconition like the rest of her kin. Finding a follower of hers online; and seeing their own shrine I decided to attempt to build one of my own and offer myself to her as a Follower last night. I spoke to her through her new shrine, gave her a offering of chocolate and wine. And asked for her to give me a sign that she accepted. She has not yet but after I communicated with her last night I felt a... rush? It felt like a adrenaline rush. A feeling of excitement, like I just sky dived and landed on the ground safely. I went into the garage to find a few things and I felt it way after I tried to commune with her. Is this normaI?
DID Commune with my matron Goddess, Bast that I wish to work with her sister as well. I felt that Bast felt... just fine with it. I felt acceptence comming from her though. LIke she didn't mind if I would ask to work with her sister as well. Please note that this is my first attempt at trying to offer and work with another deity other than my matron Goddess, Bast. I want to add , if you have alot of deities if you are short in space putting them together in one altar works. With me, they have no issue because they are understanding.
That's what I do. I have an altar for the Gods and Goddesses of Asgard. And I have one for the Hellenic deities I worship. My living space isn't endless. I think the Gods are above getting miffed at being worshipped in the same spot. As long as the praxis is respectful.

These are great steps for preparing an alter, lots of great info, but I need advice as to how to Reach Out to a deity and invite it into your life. How do you know if a deity wants to work with you? How could You tell that your deity was or or wasn't pleased with the type of incense or offering you used? How did you find out that Aphrodite didn't like to work with Medusa, like what did you see to give you that indicator? How can you tell that they Do want to work with you? What specifically happened to give you the information about what you did pleased or displeased that deity? What signs or indicators will we see to give us this info? Thanks ☺.

I mentioned this to someone, so I'm just gunna copy and repost this answer because it will answer all your questions as well....
Best way to get a solid answer is through some kind of divination practice. Intuition plays a huge role as well with realizing what you are feeling when I certain presence is around, what kind of signs you've been seeing that may be out of the ordinary, certain animals that may become more apparent in your everyday life, etc. These things help out our intuition or at the very least, identifying certain energies around us to better direct us to our findings. This can lead to typing in answers like say "what deities have to deal with deer?" then a few will pop up. Research. Get a feel for each one. See if you're drawn to anything or anyone. If something feels right, that's when you trust your intuition and go to divination methods to attempt to contact the deity you believe to be calling to you. When you say for sure, the best thing I can tell you is, In order to be for sure like you asked, you need to fully trust yourself and your intuition for that to happen! But if you do, then great! Look for the signs, find the out of the ordinary, and place the pieces of the puzzle together until you see the complete picture. Deities don't make it easy for a reason, they test our intuition, they like to see growth! I hope some of this helped, but I will do something on this very soon as well!

I do not know if it is a problem of mine that stems from a misconception of the religion I profess, but I have always been afraid of angering the deities if I decided whom to turn to.
Ever since I was a child, I have loved Egyptian deities, and Anubis was the first deity that made me love such an ancient religion. slowly, as I grew older, I became interested in Seth, Ra, Bastet, Sekhmet, Sobek and others, but I am afraid that by concentrating on one deity, I might anger the others...

I know it may just sounds weird but yesterday where i was laying in bed i tried to call him and give me a sign. I'd use a form of communication. Pendulum, candle, incense, etc. Ask him personally within a protection circle if he's been wanting to work with you! It's a sure fire way to get an answer especially when you may be at a loss!

When you evoke a deity and ask questions via a candle flame. Do you light the candle once and the flame will move per question? Or do you ask the question then light for the answer and you have to light it again for another question?
Let me do it in steps.
First, you will want to be in a room that has little to no interference with air flow. I usually put a towel under the door while having the air/heat off and windows closed. This will minimize any kind of disruption or interference with wind or air flow in general.
Second, create a protection circle around you and your candle. While creating the circle, your intent should be that you are creating that circle for protection and the only one that may enter is the deity you are trying to communicate with. Be sure to have all your objects in that protection circle as well before casting it, anything left on the outside of that circle can not be brought in after it has been created, otherwise, your circle will be broken. So just be sure to have everything you need inside the circle.
Third, after it has been created, light the candle. Ask individual questions slowly. But make sure you get the answer that the deity you are trying to reach is actually there. So your first question should be for example, "Anubis, Are you here in the circle with me?", wait for response. Once you get confirmation you can then continue asking questions, slow, and wait for the answer in the flame. If the flame becomes wild, there is interference and I would close the circle immediately and try another time. So just pay attention to the flame and its little dancy dance within the circle
Last but not least, close the circle after you have gotten what you have came for!

So I just started my alter to Amun-Ra. I was burning incense, sandlewood and had a yellow lemoncello candle burning, also have a vase that I painted dome years ago in yellows and oranges and gold and a bit of black....and ir has fake flowers in it but in his colors. Some are actually sun flowers. The incense holder has a sun on it and it is gold gir him. I have the tiniest glass with fresh water offered..Anyway, my question is... the ash on the incense curled in circles around itself over and over without falling..I've never seen ash do that...have you? Does it mean anything?...the smoke was going straight up so I'm pretty sure my offerings were accepted, I am just curious about the ash

You are good to work with multiple from different ones. But I would at least ask both if they are okay working with each other. Some deities don't get along very well. So I would at least ask each one first through divination practices!

It is permissible to worship Gods from multiple pantheons. In fact, Isis was worshipped alongside Greek and Roman Gods in ancient times

I will be doing a video on how he's helped. But remember, as I've stated in this video, not all deities are with people for the same reason. His energies are warm, fatherly, inviting, helpful, insightful, and so much more. He has helped me in spell work, he has helped me in astral projection, he has helped me just by merely being here and making his presence known. Their energy when felt at the right time, can really give you a sudden jolt. And Anubis does that with me a lot to make sure my motivation and positivity stays strong!

Plants are not closed practices, the use of them is only considered disrespectful if you use it disrespectfully and without acknowledging the origin of using it. Plants belong to the Earth, not people
And also a quick question, I didn't realize the difference between the sage and palo santo. I have both and used the palo santo every once in a while and liked it a lot but I decided to use the sage whenever I cleansed, could this be one the reasons why I feel like it has been harder to communicate and work with Dionysus?
Could be yes. Sage cleanses everything. It is still your home at the end of the day, so if youre using sage to cleanse and make the space neutral, then that is what you will get, neutral. Youll have to invite your deity back in to speak. But when using palo santo, you can get rid of everything negative and have the intent of keeping only your deity behind in the process. Which in turn will maintain your connection with your deity while you have just cast out all other energies!

Florida Water can be used in the process of cleansing. Scentless, comes in a spray usually, spray the area and cleanse with the mist of the Florida Water!
I do sound cleansing. It's cheap, all you need is a bell. It's also clean, very dorm and roommate friendly. Just don't ring the bell like crazy at night. Usually one or two dings can cleanse any small area.
When I was in uni and in a dorm I used salt to cleanse my space along with oregano on my door.

What if you dont cleanse?
Makes for bad connections. Meaning interference with the connection between you and your deity. The more different energies you have in there, the greater the chance of having something interfere with your communication and connection with your deity. But if you cleanse, you can neutralize it with sage and invite in the energies you'd like, being your deity and so on, or you can use Palo santo and keep the area positive, with the intent of leaving only your deities positive energy behind with you while you use the Palo santo to cleanse the area. Ultimately though, if you don't cleanse, you're less likely to communicate with the deity on a clear basis. Where as if you do, you have a clear, direct line to communicate with little to no interference.

@Watermelon There are many ways to cleanse and many things that can be used. Ie. lemon, salt or rosemary can be used for cleansing (choose depending on your personal practice). Some recipes: Add a few drops of lemon juice or lemon scented oil to water you are using to clean the floors. Add pinch of salt to the water you clean the floors, that's basically small exorcism. If you do sigils "paint" it on the floor with mop. Use scented candles for cleansing. Use atomizer to splash some water with scent or herbal infusion in it. Open windows and ask wind to cleanse your space. Be creative and don't give up. Where's will, there is solution :)

Palo Santo is closed. It’s part of Santeria. Unless you are Latino you should not be using it. Same as white sage and indigenous folk.
Palo Sanyo and white sage are not practices, they are tools, therefore they cannot be “closed.”
They are part of earth, they are not fucking closed.
There are other types of people that practice Santería. Actually, considering how the religion works, I would argue that simply being Latino can't possibly be enough to justify using Palo Santo. Not every Latino person is initiated. My whole family on my mother's side is Puerto Rican and we're not initiated
